- Danofdeath, on 04/26/2008, -3/+13How dare they say I should get rid of my 360!
- insomniac8400, on 04/26/2008, -1/+11The only thing on that list that makes any sense is the solar powered attic fans.
- scalded, on 04/26/2008, -0/+8I think the amount of wasted energy and materials used to produce yet another consumer gadget offset any benefits from using the gadgets themselves. Just stop wasting things.

What do you think the 360 and PS3 are made out of? Wood? - Klainmeister, on 04/26/2008, -3/+9I won't lie, I have no idea how this got dug up. They aren't really cheap, they aren't really all that green...ok....
- elebrio, on 04/26/2008, -1/+6I don't know if this would qualify as "green" but my buddy here in Arizona runs a company that installs "shade sails" - they are basically just tensile fabric that provides shade and reduces ambient temperature. It's really an old fashioned idea to reduce your energy bill but highly effective. Check it out: http://urbanshadow.com
- gnimsh, on 04/26/2008, -0/+4Don't forget the solar paneled bags to charge your devices on the go: http://www.voltaicsystems.com/
- inactive, on 04/26/2008, -1/+4I'm going to get that home composter. I didn't know those existed. No more store-bought dirt for me!
- Aeric, on 04/26/2008, -0/+3Aggred, although the power monitor would be cool.
Do people that go green actually water their lawn? - insomniac8400, on 04/26/2008, -0/+2But when you talking whole house, there is already a meter for that on the side of your house.
- Strooperman, on 04/26/2008, -0/+2Actually, skip all that and get a solar hot water heater.. they pay for themselves in 5 years or less if you have a fed/state rebate.
- camilos007, on 04/26/2008, -0/+2Trade my 360 for a Wii? Hmmm....Grand Theft Auto or Cooking Momma cook off. Sold!!!!
- Barnolde, on 04/26/2008, -3/+4My PS3 running Folding@Home does more good (and offers more entertainment) than a Wii. Yay apartment life.
- david76, on 04/26/2008, -0/+1Hybrid Electric Water Heater from GE????????
If you want to go green, go tankless. Since they use natural gas, they can't be truly green, but if your electricity is coming from coal, tankless is probably better for the environment. - bossm4n, on 04/26/2008, -0/+1I've looked into installing those in the past, but none of the models so far have enough CFM's of air movement to do much good, especially in a very hot climate. And they are very expensive compared to the powered turbines. The powered turbines are still a very good options though, since they don't pull that many watts and by cooling down the attic, they can significantly reduced A/C usage. If you insist on a green alternative, the basic wind-driven turbines are probably about as effective as the solar models. You also need to make sure you have enough ventilation for any of these to draw air from.
- jreilly4261, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1Of course green people water their lawns...with the water from their rain barrels that collect runoff from gutters. :) It's' the same water that's used to clean the electric car and water the organic vegetables. Why encourage water processing when you can have it delivered to your home for free?
