- satanherself, on 06/06/2009, -0/+16I prefer Guatemalan Insanity Peppers.
- k3nnyd, on 06/06/2009, -0/+13No, this is not the case with traditional psilocybin mushrooms and is a common misconception. Technically everything is toxic if enough of a substance enters the body through various means however. With that said, scientists have rated psilocybin mushrooms as less toxic than aspirin. Also the effects (hallucinations) are not due to any toxicity but rather chemical changes and unusual receptor activity caused by the chemical in the brain.
Same goes for LSD, DMT, salvia, and peyote (and the list goes on). Virtually non-toxic hallucinogens. Whether your mind is ready for the wacky experience is a whole 'nother story! =) - inactive, on 06/06/2009, -0/+10The merciless peppers of queztlzacatenango, grown deep within the jungle primeval?
- staticfire, on 06/06/2009, -0/+8If you have a bad trip it is either because of your own poor mental state, or the surroundings/people you took them in were not ideal for tripping. You cant blame the drugs. The trip simply does what you think it will do. Mind over matter.
- cJw314, on 06/06/2009, -0/+7You are mistaken.
- hydrodev, on 06/06/2009, -0/+7Sure it is, just read about them, look for pics and get a field guide. The magical ones, once you know what you are looking at, are very different from poisonous ones. You can also post the pics on shroomery.org, and someone can ID them for you, and you'll be safe. I've done this several times now.
- k3nnyd, on 06/06/2009, -0/+7It's not like people are selling poisonous mushrooms in place of psychedelics (HIGHLY unlikely). Don't but them from a crackhead and certainly don't eat anything picked from the wild. Even better... find any of several reputable *cough*Erowid*cough* drug sites that will inform you how to grow your own vast quantities of non-toxic mushrooms for less than $100 out of a tupperware container.
- ravens32681, on 06/06/2009, -0/+5I've seen many death angels in the woods in Maryland and other areas surrounding Washington DC. I would love to see the brain mushroom though. That is sweet. The hooded false morel is saying: "if you try to eat me, i will crush your head like a clam on my tummy."
http://www.midatlanticshrooms.net - Roobix, on 06/06/2009, -0/+5AUGH, they didn't include Coprinus atramentarius! The mushroom that is ONLY poisonous if consumed with alcohol. So strange!

Homer: Damn strait - satanherself, on 06/06/2009, -0/+3That would be them.....
- TheSkunkMonkey, on 06/06/2009, -0/+3Clearly we must place these mushrooms on the Schedule I list of drugs and make it illegal to grow them!
/s - frontaxle, on 06/06/2009, -0/+3It tastes like burning!!!
- CleoQKazoo, on 06/06/2009, -1/+3Dear Internet,
we don't lik slideshows - sabach, on 06/07/2009, -0/+2The situation was bad, I had just left a party that ended badly and had to drive through dense fog. You wouldn't believe the things I saw in the fog, I kept having to tell myself "It's just the trip talking". I'd like to mention that the hands-down best ***** trip I ever had was real chocolate mescaline.
- askantik, on 06/06/2009, -0/+2Hard econommic times don't make me forage for food in the woods. Taste and fun do, though :) There are plenty of books about finding wild fruits, roots, etc. Some wild onions, blackberries, wild strawberries-- also relatively easy to find at the right time of the year.
- rebo2, on 06/06/2009, -0/+2If you're interested in mushroom hunting, look for the "chicken mushroom". It's really wonderful and can't be mistaken for any other type of mushroom (except for one really hard kind that is non-toxic, but you wouldn't be able to chew it anyways). It tastes and is textured just like chicken and is bright yellow or orange.
If you're doing any other kind of mushrooming, always identify it by at least 3 ways including taking a spore print to check the color.
Lastly, found mushrooms are like nothing you can buy in a store. - burningrobot, on 06/06/2009, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Val7hmRLD9Y
I don't know what that end song is. - Roobix, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1They have, and they do!
- cJw314, on 06/06/2009, -0/+1Orange Peel?
- idavidtang, on 06/06/2009, -0/+1Prune?
- NUMBER4940, on 06/06/2009, -1/+2Some of those look too pretty to eat, and then there's Hooded False Morel, which the top of looks like a dried up...
- Calchet, on 06/06/2009, -1/+2I'll personally attest to the fact that number seven is quite tasty, and well worth the risk, when properly cooked.
I wouldn't recommend the other six, however. - LilJimmyNordin, on 06/06/2009, -0/+1I've planted many of these to defeat zombies on my lawn.
- inactive, on 06/06/2009, -0/+1Would think they would give that to alcoholics.
- haikuFU, on 06/07/2009, -0/+1I've heard that mushrooms don't really give you much in the way of nutritional value anyway. Although, I'm too lazy to actually look it up.
Some of these mushrooms will make you sick for a couple of days, and then you seemingly get better. But 6 months down the road, your liver or kidneys will fail and you die. - emjaymj, on 06/06/2009, -0/+1I don't think he was saying it was the shrooms' fault. I've had many fine trips on about half a dozen different psychedelics, and shrooms were also the only one to give me bad trips.
Does it mean shrooms are bad? Plenty of people might be able to enjoy them, but they're bad for me and sabach. The gastric effects shrooms tend to bring on (stomach cramps, etc) can make it a more difficult drug when your mind is already being overwhelmed. - Krakerjax, on 06/06/2009, -0/+1I couldn't help but noticing that a lot of these mushrooms have the word "death" in them. Are you sure this recipe works?
- thenativeraver, on 06/06/2009, -0/+1I want a bag of cubensis mushrooms.
- emjaymj, on 06/06/2009, -3/+4That's okay, LSD is better in every single way.
- h8red42, on 06/06/2009, -2/+2kinda off topic but back in 89 we was picking "Blue ringers" in some strangers yard, and when she got curious we told her that they were edible but"Had a strong flavor that a lot of people don't like."long story short later that night "THE CLEAVERS TRIPPED BALLS!!"when we went back a few days later we got arrested.....good times!
- thorstrongstone, on 06/06/2009, -2/+1Never mind this, tell me about those ***** golf shoes!
- sabach, on 06/06/2009, -4/+3The only bad trip I ever had was on shrooms. No thanks.
- rentdn, on 06/06/2009, -4/+1I need good recipe to prepare them , for some of my " goooood friends " :) :)
- LostOnion, on 06/06/2009, -7/+3I've never wanted to trip badly enough to try any shroom. It's not worth the risk.
- DeceasedVirus, on 06/06/2009, -7/+1I've never wanted to trip!
- yevkasem, on 06/06/2009, -11/+1if i'm not mistaken, the shrooms people eat to trip are poisonous too, right? the idea is to poison yourself enough to trip, but not enough to kill you.
