6 Reasons Why Gore Will Fail
cleantalk.org — In a speech delivered on Thursday in Washington DC, Al Gore challenged the nation to generate 100% of its energy with clean and renewable energy by 2018. If successful, his plan would sharply decrease global warming emissions while improving economic security in short ten years. However, the challenges are vast.

- JimmySpaza, on 07/19/2008, -8/+9Reason #7: Al Gore is a hypocrite for telling taxpayers how to live their lives, but then flying around in a private jet burning leaded Jet-A fuel, living in a mansion which uses more energy than some city blocks, and making speeches for at least $10,000 per appearance...while telling everyone else to be frugal.
- rajkalex, on 07/19/2008, -2/+6If you can help to make a positive change in the world by leading millions of people to do the right thing, while burning fuel in a private jet, I would encourage you to do so.

- Equinox2012, on 07/19/2008, -2/+3Like money... you need to spend some to make some. Your such a hypocrite. If he put out the same amount of energy on this topic as the average person expels in a day, you'd be saying he is all talk no action. Action takes energy. If he need to spend more than us to get the word out so be it. What have you done besides bitch. Plus the money he makes goes right back into the cause.
BTW: The data you sent about the statistically impossible for life to occur naturally via evolution... I'm still waiting for you to supply where your faux science got the numbers. You people talk big but where is the data? More lies from the right.
- iMattK, on 07/19/2008, -0/+3Agreed. His so-called carbon footprint is huge -- if you want to bring about change, you have to lead by example, not by dictate!

- Nova437, on 07/19/2008, -1/+1Although I do see Gore as quite hypocritical I agree with his speech. Sadly I also agree with this article but regardless I've written an article in defense of Gore's stance. You can read it here: http://hotfixamerica.com/?p=26

- mjklaser, on 07/19/2008, -0/+3Regardless of who says it, or by what date they 'set', it is certainly time to rid ourselves of this disgusting dependence on oil. There are so many burgeoning technologies out there to take us in a different direction. I hope that we as a nation can be smart enough to truly make it happen, soon.
- sk11, on 07/19/2008, -0/+3The ad hominems are irrelevant. His message, to clean up, lower pollution and take care of the environment is an important one, which constantly gets ignored by those in power. No one likes living in squalor after all. It is an issue that people from all ends of the political spectrum should be able to agree on in sentiment at least.

- tbhurst, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1I'm with wonderchemist. Why would it be Gore's failure?
- 3tcp, on 07/19/2008, -0/+3100% would mean replacing pretty much the existing energy infrastructure that we already have in place. This would require spending trillions of dollars just to maintain our current level of power output. This will never happen and we'll never have 100% because we'll at least need nuclear plants to serve as the backbone of our supply once coal is deemed obsolete. It's surprising to me that Gore would come up with such an unrealistic plan. Without some revolutionary breakthroughs in technology and manufacturing techniques this is an impossible proposal.
- ritubpant, on 07/19/2008, -1/+3I think they are good reasons, don't you? ;-)
- OffPiste, on 07/19/2008, -1/+2#7 He's an obese hypocritical liberal.
Wait that's redundant. - trumpcard, on 07/19/2008, -2/+2Gore=Fail.
- pirlok, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2so if nobody cares about renewable energies it means that al gore will fail. yeah, great.
