- eatporktoo, on 11/17/2008, -1/+53didn't really blow my mind...that's what i expected a giant ass fire to look like
- zippe, on 11/17/2008, -14/+4350 clicks? i think not.
- Joomal, on 11/17/2008, -0/+21Blow my mind? Come on people... put realistic titles. I suggest this:
"Pictures of California Fires."
You gotta learn to turn down the drama dial. - branndon, on 11/17/2008, -0/+21I live in Anaheim, these fires are massive, my cousins place burnt down. The skies were red Saturday afternoon. The smoke was so bad, Fry's Electronics (where I work) was smokey inside, I had to stand there for 8 hours breathing in that crap.
I pray that everyone will come out of this safe. - verevi, on 11/17/2008, -1/+11Way better set of pics:
http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/11/californi ... - scoottie, on 11/17/2008, -2/+11The third pic of the boy and the dog look so staged
- borez, on 11/17/2008, -1/+9For crying out loud, more than one image per page please. It really can't be that hard.
- jml235, on 11/17/2008, -1/+7Because rich people aren't "real people," right? You realize that you are being just as prejudiced against the rich as you claim they are against "real people"?
- Benjigga, on 11/17/2008, -0/+6I've been clicking on as many of these "that will BLOW YOUR MIND!!!" links as I can find, but so far none of them have done the trick.
- ShiftyMcCan, on 11/17/2008, -2/+8Exactly! I'm almost certain they burned their house down for the picture. Photographers are at new lows.
- thedivinelyevil, on 11/17/2008, -1/+7exactly! this "will blow your mind" stuff needs to stop on digg. we will be the judge of whether or not something can blow our minds, thank you very much!
- Spoomeister, on 11/17/2008, -1/+7Best of luck to you and your loved ones, I hope you guys stay safe... but... there's something deeply ironic about you working in a place called Fry's during a massive firestorm...
- shitforbrains, on 11/17/2008, -1/+6My mind remains totally unblown. Buried for the OMG, outrageous, un-frickin-believable hyperbole.
- antoniuk, on 11/17/2008, -0/+5Blow my mind? My friend nearly lost everything she owned in one of the fires this weekend. The fire came within 20 feet of her home. I don't feel the title nor sensationalizing this is appropriate to all those who lost homes.
- icecycles, on 11/17/2008, -1/+6 pic 59 is totally worth it.
- laughtears, on 11/17/2008, -0/+5make that 59 pics (it's alive!)...would be nice if they had a tiled thumbnail preview of the gallery, some amazing pics there.
- Cglass, on 11/17/2008, -2/+7Yes it does sound terrible, because you are.
You know absolutely nothing about ANY of the people who lost their homes, and yet you are charged enough to make a comment like that.
Shame on you. - jonathanforpres, on 11/17/2008, -4/+8worth it, awesome pics.
- new2theratrace, on 11/17/2008, -0/+4my three little cousins live in that neighborhood and they're just as good as anyone else. they are not rich and its horrible that ppl leave comments about this event not being sad.
- mattrazzo, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3Just another day in Southern California... mind not blown.
- mogdor, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3That angry latina looks like she's about to blow out that fire like superman.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3Pic 7: George Carlin, still alive!
- Surferess, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3sorry it keeps changing.
- richirwin, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3ZOMFG! My Mind - it's BLOWN!
- elf25, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3agreed, I got to like, 5 and quit. poster must have a small mind which is easily blown. ;-)
- edeabay, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3I also live in Santa Barbara, and we are having one of the worst fires in recent memory, RIGHT NOW. Over 200 homes have been destroyed since it started Thursday evening. In the 5 years I have lived here there have been 3 major fires, all which have put substantial amounts of smoke and ash in the air. You have no idea what you are talking about.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+3The people in Montecito are rich. The people in Yorba Linda and Anaheim hills are middle-class. They can afford big houses because they're so far inland.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2Yeah, dude, what the ***** are you talking about? My friend's house just got burned to the ground.
What about the Gap Fire? That was in Goleta, less than 3 miles from I.V. What about the Zaca fire? Smoke and ash blanketed I.V. and Goleta for like 3 months.
Are you a freshman or something? - Janizzary, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2Her name's Amada Anzueto and she's hot. So hot that maybe...never mind.
- new2theratrace, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2entourage!
- Shogun6996, on 11/17/2008, -1/+3Not worth it, buried
- Spoomeister, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2They also have REAL money that they can use to stay at REAL comfortable places and build more REAL houses somewhere else. So, yes, call it class warfare and disrespect, and yes, call it lumping in trust fund babies with hard-working celebrities and media moguls.
But I can't summon nearly as much sympathy for their plight as I can for the guy who's living paycheck to paycheck, who gets hit by a natural disaster. - MasterQ, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1dugg for vinnie chase
- Bizarrkley, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Not blown... your mom is late.
- ryancalderoni, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1If you like this I also recommend Fallout 3.
- conaaah, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1All I can think of now when I see this is Grapevine Fires.
- jusgreat, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1I live in Brea... it wasn't pretty. Here's picture taken from from the cost looking back north. Outside of Brea Canyon, Brea was relatively safe. I would have been more worried about the guys just north in Diamond Bar and into Chino Hills.

Hey! The fire's to your left! - wrestlingnrj, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1I live about 4 miles from the Brea fire and it is still completely smokey at my house and everything is covered in ash. I work right across the freeway from you, Branndon, at the scrap yard, but luckily I didn't have to work on saturday or sunday. I'm fortunate to not know anyone who lost their home, but it is still very tragic none the less.
- mogdor, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1I'm not "charged" over this and I'm not saying rich people are somehow "bad". Just saying I don't feel as bad for them as I would over a middle class or poor person losing their home. Rich people can overcome their loss more easily, whereas less fortunate people will have a much harder time, simple as that. I'm sure people at all financial levels have been affected. Ok so I made an overgeneralization because I saw a picture of a destroyed mansion.....I'm wrong, you put me in my place, whoopdeedoo, you get a gold star. People assume a lot of things from few words
- NCSD, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2Thank god its LA and not San Diego again this year. We need a break before it all gets burned down again
- whatever01, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Brick houses in California have other challenges.
- Zymophideth, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1It's only 40pics not 50 and not all of them were "mind blowing". Buried for inaccurate title.
- Bayan44, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Big gulps eh.......
- MadMonk67, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1There were a couple of good shots, but my mind remains unblown. Buried for innaccurate title.
- painting, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2I feel so sorry for those poor poor rich people.
- cddict1, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1Great pics but bad for us in reality. Forest fire damages our lovely environment.
- EagleTG, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Not if your mind is already blown! You'd never know, because you'd not have anything to judge the subject matter with!! I for one, thank the OP for pointing out that these pics will blow my mind.
- hsep88, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2I thought the Studio shut down Smokejumpers?
- chaos7, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1how the hell do people not rescue their pets
