- notque, on 01/22/2008, -1/+4No, I meant wealthy, which could be "liberals" or "conservatives." The poor care very little what name you use to describe yourself when you continue to vote in repressive politicians.
- notque, on 01/22/2008, -1/+4The wealthy have little concern for the problems of the poor, and this is another example.
- crazybugger, on 01/22/2008, -0/+2This is how we get our cheap mp3 players! Just one among them.
- Bukowsky, on 01/22/2008, -0/+2It's not like we're EVER gonna pay any of that debt anyways...
- Myztry, on 01/22/2008, -0/+2Large Corporations cry being legally and morally wronged if some country allows copying of intangible assets like Intellectual Property. Demand uniform global laws and such.
But if there a difference in law for matters such as allowable mining methods they're keen as mustard to get in and abuse a resource in a manner that would be illegal in their own country.
"We're obeying all (lacking) local laws - no wrong doing here..."
Hypocrites.... - paperfrog, on 01/22/2008, -0/+2Would you take an IOU? No?
- socialpyramid, on 01/22/2008, -0/+2The poor? Let them eat crack, I mean cake. :)
- smackhero, on 01/22/2008, -0/+2well, typically it's harder to become extremely rich if you are progressive-minded and bound by strong moral convictions. but there are still some wealthy individuals who are fairly liberal--Warren Buffett comes to mind. and albeit they are the exception, not the rule, i don't think it's fair to lump them together with the rest of the modern aristocracy whom are generally selfish and indifferent to the plight of the lower classes.
being wealthy in itself is not a crime. it just so happens that the way our society works, you generally have to be criminal/immoral to accumulate great wealth. and typically people who care that much about money aren't very interested in anything else. - inactive, on 01/22/2008, -0/+1Right *****, it's those evil liberals who keep trying to get them health care and education.
The GOP giving tax cuts to the rich was ALL about helping the poor, is that it?
Being ignorant is one thing, being a scumbag liar is another.
Somehow in rightard asshats it comes together, like chocolate and peanut butter. - inactive, on 01/22/2008, -0/+1"In most cases the goods and services consumed in rich countries resulted in new burdens on poor countries that aren't accounted for in global trade."
- rac1234, on 01/22/2008, -0/+1Your headline says $47 billion. The story says $47 trillion. That would be $47,000,000,000,000.
- inactive, on 01/22/2008, -1/+1the national debt of Yemen, maybe...
- inactive, on 01/22/2008, -5/+2One man's damages are another man's livelihood.
Just another example of placing the rich man's burden of guilt on the poor.
Buried as gutless and raciest...... - BigBlueCarbon, on 01/22/2008, -7/+2you mean liberals have little concern.
