- sumone4life, on 10/10/2007, -1/+26That is some really nice photography! Compliments to the photographer
- Dufresne, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Abandoned places are some of the most incredible places to be. These pictures, while still being awesome, could never do the real thing justice.
- Rikushix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7The rollercoaster one is great! (00542: "overgrown")
And 00444 reminds me of that level in unreal tournament with the moving conveyor belts and whatnot. - JamesWilson, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8If you like this, you may also like Urban exploration:

- senorcool, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I love the "regrowth" at the oaks motel. That is one great picture...along with all of them.

- shahruz84, on 12/17/2008, -3/+6ermmmm. isn't that first pic chernobyl? cuz if it is, i really really don't think it'd be fun and relaxing to be there for a weekend
- sancho320, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3thats nice of you, what do you play?

- scootinger, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You might also find Dixie Square Mall interesting...it's a mall near Chicago that was closed in the late 70s, was used to shoot some scenes in The Blues Brothers shortly after, and it's been completely abandoned for the 25-30 years since then.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixie_Square_Mall...t ... should be some links to some picture albums there. - negativefix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Very nice visiuals. Some reminds me of Tarkovsky' Сталкер.
- durru7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Why are all abandoned places perfect for paintballing?
- josho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2bestpicever alias.. awesome. continue the campaign of spam and i hope the ad revenue is awesome.

- gerrylazlo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The prison and some of the rooms reminded me of HL2.
- passedoutghost, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2A more comprehensive site of abandoned places: http://www.abandonedbutnotforgotten.com/
- miken32, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Probably why the submission was titled "16 LOVELY image sets of abandoned places."
- Enishiru, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Depressing? I guess if you consider the absence of people, as well as the presence of certain things (the empty chair, the dead bird), but I'm not shedding any tears.
Most of them are inspiring in one way or another, or at least thought-provoking. - epj3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1www.28dayslater.co.uk
- sabach, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1My dad worked there for 25 years, I myself worked there for 4 weeks while waiting for construction of the new prison to complete. And my niece is one of the tour guides. Most of it has been torn down but the main building and cell blocks still stand. The east block is the largest steel and concrete cell block ever built.
- rickyisawesome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i went to an abandoned insane asylum in NJ and filmed it so check it out if you want: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5fYLFjvO3g
:) - Samstar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I guess the site is down, darn
- wastelander, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Great photos! I've done some exploring of abandoned building myself.. should have brought a camera (ever seen cement stalactites?) BTW it’s probably not a good idea for a lot of reasons.
I also find it a bit depressing though.. makes you think about the transitory nature of life.. everything we do, everything we create will eventually be nothing but rust and ruin.. a lot of those places look like they’ve held a lot of memories.. - Samstar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1here's similiar pictures

- eerbin13, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Reminds me of Bucketheadland...
- lharrod, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1What is it about abandoned amusement parks that really creeps me out? The clown entrance and the half-standing Ferris wheel are the stuff of nightmares!
- gn0stik, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1How does he find places like this? I'd like to find some of these places. Urban exploring is fun. Haven't done it in a while, and never found anything as cool as that.
- SeaOverflowing, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Very relaxing photographes, really cool...
- gn0stik, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Man, if someone knew ahead of time you guys were going there, they could have pranked the ***** out of you guys. You were so edgy you'da ***** yourselves. Cool trip though.
- santiago1, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3 Beautiful photography!
Probably the best word I can come up with to describe this is: Haunting! - Harbinger67, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'd love to visit these sorts of places. I wish I knew where to find some...
- xMotu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Approach this as you would approach Stonehenge. You know nothing of it, you're from the future. Eerie isn't it? not knowing what happened, and what had been there. You could approach it as well as if you were an alien and this is what...New York might look like in the future. Creeeeepy.
- reddikilowatt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They're all over the place. You just have to open your eyes and look.
- andrew522, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1HEY! I've been to one of the places in those photos! the Ohio State Reformatory is a really cool place to visit during the halloween season (they have tours in a haunted-house style). It really is an expansive facility with huge ballrooms and everything. extremely creepy.
I believe it is out near Mansfield,OH. I don't remember exactly where though. It's been a couple years. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0For some reason, I really like the picture with the chair in the empty hallway.
But all of them are great. - mrjit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Cool places and what not, but, I don't really think he captured a "spooky abandonded" look at all. I'm kind of bummed about that, the pictures don't even remotely look spooky to me.
Seems as though he was going for a more relaxing feel, hm. - Elliuotatar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1So how does one save some of the photos without doing a screen copy of them?
- passedoutghost, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0They're not. Heavily populated areas are better. Meat shields :D
