Fall and winter are not.
I usually pulverize my leaves and use them as mulch in the flowerbeds, but with all this hippy talk pissing me off, I think I'll set fire to them and throw some tires in just to get it good and hot.
Don't worry about me though. You should start worrying about the mercury in those fluorescent bulbs you're using. Sweep them up and use them in the yard, don't throw them into the trash stream! I gather up all the leaves in my yard and use them as mulch in the vegetable garden, tilling them into the soil in the spring.
