- Elsewhere42, on 11/10/2009, -0/+43Really puts into perspective how much energy is in a nuclear weapon.
- Pretendo, on 11/10/2009, -2/+28Brought to you by diplomacy.
A fringe benefit of what happens when we uncross our arms and offer to talk. - novenator, on 11/10/2009, -1/+24Wow. I didn't know there had been such a large transfer of fissile material from the former USSR to America.
- nullcodes, on 11/10/2009, -2/+20So wait if I get electrocuted that means I was killed by a soviet nuclear weapon? ***** commies!!
- Atario, on 11/10/2009, -1/+19Talk about beating swords into plowshares.
- valarking, on 11/10/2009, -0/+13It generates more power than just storing them away in a bunker somewhere.
I love nuclear energy, and I really wish more people would abandon the foolish fear of it. - Friendlyhazard, on 11/10/2009, -2/+9no, only 10% of you was killed by soviet weapons
/s - gizram84, on 11/10/2009, -0/+5In Soviet Russia, nuclear weapon powers you!
- Unikraken, on 11/10/2009, -3/+8Well at least something -remotely- good came out of the cold war. Anything to reduce our dependency on oil.
- Ebacherville, on 11/10/2009, -0/+3Better than having it sit in a nuke silo somewhere. If it were legal I'd love a mini nuke power plant for the backyard.. nuke power is the best form of power next to renewables like solar and wind. The nit wits at Chernobyl and 3mile island really tarnished nuke power, It could do amazing things for us as a human race.. Like fire to a cave man it could cause destruction and carnage but when used responsibly it can really expand the human race.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 11/10/2009, -0/+3But... these bombs ARE a source of power now.
- doctechnical, on 11/10/2009, -1/+3If you want to call the Strategic Defense Initiative "diplomacy".
- keloyd, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2I came in to say that and you beat me to it, I KEEL YOU!
Seriously, how cool would it be for the discovery channel people to do a show about this and run it over Christmas so that whole peace on earth thing isn't just talk talk talk like every other Christmas. - bitmanx, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2Now I can put that logo on my house "Powered by Russian Nukes"..
- palehorse864, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2Indeed. Now we just need to get on the spears into pruning hooks initiative.
- roddack, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2That's how your hardcore commie works Mandrake
- doctechnical, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2The cold war is keeping me warm at night. Peace on Earth, Purity of Essence.
- askantik, on 11/12/2009, -0/+1May I invite you to read the pages and pages of arguments I had with someone earlier today on Digg about why expanding our reliance on nuclear power is not a great idea. I'm a little worn out about it right now, but you can always read it from my history.
- hdrkid, on 11/11/2009, -0/+1Electricity - it's da bomb!
- nyxerebos, on 11/10/2009, -0/+1good, that means we'd be out of nukes.
- CeeJayDK, on 11/10/2009, -0/+1Somebody set up us the bomb !
- doctechnical, on 11/10/2009, -2/+2It would be very, very slow in approaching if we used breeder reactors to re-cycle the "used" fuel. But god forbid we build anything "nu-cu-ler". ***** luddite hippies.
- keloyd, on 11/10/2009, -1/+1I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.
- sipsyrup, on 11/10/2009, -1/+1Landing on the moon/Space race was a bad thing?
- DrLeePhD, on 11/10/2009, -4/+1wow, didn't know that.
It's almost become a meme, but this is why I love Digg. - LtTilon, on 11/10/2009, -3/+0No ***** sherlock, it generates more power.
But I was responding to him saying 'something remotely good came out of the cold war', as if the bombs are a source of power. - abstracthuman, on 11/10/2009, -5/+1Not a science guy, so the concept behind this baffles me. But dugg for bafflement and learning something new!
- doctechnical, on 11/10/2009, -6/+2It was done without fanfare, it's really not nice to kick an enemy when they're down and shout to the world "Hey, we're pulling the claws and fangs of the Soviet bear!"
- Fazzmania, on 11/10/2009, -9/+1Just like oil though, there's a limit, and it's fast approaching.
- LtTilon, on 11/10/2009, -9/+0Umm...making nuclear bombs isn't a generator of power. It takes resources and energy to construct a bomb and refine the material...just mining the uranium and using it in a reactor would be far more energy effecient.

What is Digg?
