- DimensionalPunk, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5The Windbelt is very cool.
- greevar, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5Those are pretty cool. I like this one in particular. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPuWSBYMWqg
- ousthouse, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3It's weird seeing a "blow" pun NOT used in a sexual way.
- NightmareFox, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3This makes navigating the article a breeze!
- stklaw, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3Oh, don't forget the maglev wind turbine
http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/26/maglev-wind-tur ... - FizixMan, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3Dugg for the first video "WhalePower" which had the Chrono Trigger song "Inciting Incident" from the Chrono Symphonic soundtrack.
I couldn't believe it at first and had to pause the video just to make sure the song was coming from the video and not from my computer. - BackItch, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2Anyone else recognize the music playing for the "Whale Power" fan blades?
Sounds like Chrono Trigger to me.
Checkout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSV604TZRjk at around 2:15 - FizixMan, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2Ahh, BackItch beat me to it. Bury me down. :D
- bearcat8543, on 07/10/2009, -2/+4everytime i click on a different turbine picture it redirects me to page with a single ad on it.
***** that site. - zebraz, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2Wind is like that.
- bskrabak, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2I read about that a few years ago, but haven't even heard a whisper about it since. So I don't know if it still is going to happen, which is a shame because it seems like an amazing idea.
- marioman134, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2I remember when they discovered that bumpy blades are more efficient, at first they thought it didn't make much sense because of aerodynamics, but then they discovered it was a better way ! :) I think they said something about using this in the design of airplane wings too.
- Moralogic, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2You really are a dumbass. If that was a lame attempt to be funny, you failed.
- Sanfranon5, on 07/10/2009, -0/+21 Website that is Pushing the Limits of Design.
- jezsik, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2Damn. You got me on that one. Well played, sir. Well played.
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1i was worried he was gonna lose that arm
- Sanfranon5, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Great link. Thank you kind sir.
- 01100100, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Yep, It's Crono's theme. The song is also used for the little opening after the pendulum. It's a really slow subtle version of it. I thought I was hearing things at first but nope its good ol Chrono Trigger.
- Sideshowslob, on 07/10/2009, -0/+14. Mageen Air Rotor System (MARS):
They consider 1000 ft. high altitude? - greevar, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Yes, Arab terrorists no longer need planes to terrorize us! They use their Aeroturbans to fly over major cities with a suicide nuclear bombing!
- marblewonder, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1sounds like she's saying "Aeroturbans"
- BackItch, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1By just a few minutes. I did spend a bunch of that time checking and double-checking just to make sure. Couldn't believe it!
And besides, you knew the title of the song. - inactive, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1i already 'blew' my mind before i logged onto digg. is it safe for me to click the link?
- angryredplanet, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Wind is like a pay-per-view or click-thru corporate advertising machine?
- FizixMan, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1But that means I was doubly-beat! Understandable though: why the heck would we want to read Youtube comments anyway? I wasn't in the mood for depressing comedy and I imagine BackItch wasn't either.
- themastersb, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1If it makes you feel any better BlackItch was also beat by the person who commented on the Youtube video.
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1I've seen two of the Quiet Revolution ones in a car park where Brixton Road meets Oval in London UK; I wondered if they were proper wind turbines and now I know.
http://www.panoramio.com/photo/15052434 - dynamojoe, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Why so expensive? The Honeywell turbine is $4500!
I hope these catch on and the price comes down a lot. - chmodU, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0Watch the first video. Is that music from Chrono Trigger?
- saintsfan, on 07/10/2009, -3/+2Id prefer it if they could blow something else too
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -2/+11 page or no digg especially if it is an article about high tech fans
- zebraz, on 07/10/2009, -6/+1Windmills.
