- 2618 diggs
- digg it
- JlmAWP, on 11/17/2007, -29/+442He hates Bush and reads Digg. Keith Olbermann, you are my hero.
- Electric_Sheep, on 11/17/2007, -10/+131Well, his researchers read Digg.
- trentasaurus, on 11/17/2007, -42/+20yeah but he's an economic liberal/commie, and the other night he kinda pissed me off. He was all upset about McCain laughing at some woman who called Hillary clinton a bitch. Gimme a break, who cares...
- boombye, on 11/17/2007, -6/+26Yeah because McCain has supporters on the right who claim to be the better people, morally and religiously, and all of that... So you kind of have to wonder what it says about him and his supports when they laugh and make such hateful remarks. Then again I'm no flanders, but I'm saying that's probably why.
- Swift2, on 11/17/2007, -11/+6What, that c--sucker McCain called Hillary a bitch? Who cares about that guy anyway? His support is at Kucinich levels, and his campaign is out of money. He's a sad figure. The only place he's popular anymore is with Russert and Matthews, who have man-crushes on him.
- p0s3r, on 11/17/2007, -4/+7No. Some citizen asked McCain "How can you beat that bitch". The left's faux outrage is over the fact that McCain didn't "condemn her" enough for their liking.
- azAZ09, on 11/18/2007, -2/+3"Economic liberal / commie?" ... Exactly what decade do you think this is? The way you use those words shows you do not understand them. Stick to the shallows.
- boombye, on 11/17/2007, -6/+26Yeah because McCain has supporters on the right who claim to be the better people, morally and religiously, and all of that... - supermanred, on 11/17/2007, -5/+21No, he is on Digg and I know his username. You would never guess it. He is a true fan of Digg.
- notque, on 11/17/2007, -0/+13It's knomevol isn't it?
I KNEW it! - Whaines, on 11/18/2007, -0/+6His username is supermanred, isn't it?
- notque, on 11/17/2007, -0/+13It's knomevol isn't it?
- simplenation, on 11/17/2007, -1/+12I wonder what his username is
- AladinSane, on 11/17/2007, -25/+3Oddly enough, the similarities don't end there. You're both pissy, self-righteous, juvenile attention whores.
- plhearn, on 11/18/2007, -1/+6you mean like sean hannity?
- utahnkid, on 11/18/2007, -6/+0So.. Whats it like to have a man crush? And.. Do your parents know your gay?
- Cyberdactyl, on 11/18/2007, -3/+3The remark that they were "actual clips from Fox" and Big O chuckles, throws the segment material in the air, suggesting somehow the information was "authentic" but removed from digg reiterates how MSNBC loves to "Spin" their stories. The entire Foxporn clip and site was/is BUILD from of out-of-context material.
MSNBC and digg are two of a kind. How often do you see a conservative story on digg? Or even a independent dig? Digg could be a massive powerhouse in AND outside the internet if it would balance it's political perpective. MSNBC has learned the hard way (ratings are non-existent. . and that's being kind).
Now. . . I realize your index finger is shaking for that bury button. . . so wait no longer. . I'm finished.- Neuticals, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1I agree. Too much from any one side is no good.
- Electric_Sheep, on 11/17/2007, -10/+131Well, his researchers read Digg.
- Lixie, on 11/17/2007, -6/+242Well, he's been on digg so much, it's about time digg should be on his show.
- joel8x, on 11/18/2007, -1/+4Good for Digg
- Aetherine, on 11/17/2007, -42/+6Alright. Usually can't find something funny on Digg.
Thank you, Keith.- Audacitor, on 11/18/2007, -1/+6Not on digg very much are you?
- cheese06, on 11/17/2007, -8/+195C'mon, everyone knows the mainstream media relies on digg to gather stories, especially the quirky ones.
- royalwcheese, on 11/17/2007, -3/+95We are looking at you Attack of the Show.
- badqat, on 11/17/2007, -18/+3Yeah, but that's just because Olivia is hot!
- bluezinc, on 11/17/2007, -1/+8Missed the point = you.
- badqat, on 11/18/2007, -1/+2What, there is another reason other than Oliva Munn to watch that show?
- chilekillr, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1The British chick.
- bluezinc, on 11/17/2007, -1/+8Missed the point = you.
- CWal37, on 11/17/2007, -2/+67I hate to break it to you, but attack of the show isn't mainstream media, I think you ned to break into triple digit viewership numbers for that to happen.
- diggmodsaregay, on 11/17/2007, -6/+13lol
- bluezinc, on 11/17/2007, -7/+5I hate to break it to you... but AOTS is mainstream media by definition.
- OAKsider, on 11/18/2007, -0/+3I don't see what you did there.
- badqat, on 11/17/2007, -18/+3Yeah, but that's just because Olivia is hot!
- terminal157, on 11/17/2007, -0/+16I remember when Fark first got big, it was fun to try to predict which off-color news stories would make the mainstream rounds that day.
- Gdub, on 11/17/2007, -0/+42I've definitely seen this. Every day the news will run an off-beat story and ten-to-one I saw it like four days earlier on Digg.
- byrdgang, on 11/17/2007, -1/+8I have been saying the exact name thing. MSM gets its weird news from the Internet, only after the story has become old.
- bingobongony, on 01/09/2008, -1/+1And the internet (and especially Digg) gets its REAL news from the main stream...after it becomes old. Even ones with "BREAKING" in the title. Real news simply doesn't have time to sift through the crap.
- ruley, on 11/17/2007, -0/+6actually most morning jockeys on Clear Channel are "Strongly suggested" to read Fark
- byrdgang, on 11/17/2007, -1/+8I have been saying the exact name thing. MSM gets its weird news from the Internet, only after the story has become old.
- JaredXM, on 11/17/2007, -1/+1Yes I've seen this many times.
- Shalaby, on 11/17/2007, -0/+18I'm pretty sure Leno's writers read digg
- SuckMyDigg, on 11/18/2007, -0/+2Actually I thought they looked more towards Fark for the crazy stuff.
- Mike89, on 11/18/2007, -0/+2What are you talking about? Most of the links are TO mainstream media.
- cheese06, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1when i say mainstream media it means the major broadcast networks + cable television news. a lot of the quirky links are from local news. theres a difference there.
- royalwcheese, on 11/17/2007, -3/+95We are looking at you Attack of the Show.
- Akraz, on 11/17/2007, -10/+4LOL that is simply amazing
- Iknockstuffdown, on 11/17/2007, -7/+42Why did he tweak out at the end?
- cecinestpasvrai, on 11/17/2007, -1/+16He always does that. He's got a bit of a Howard Beale thing in his broadcast.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Beale- sgtbutterscotch, on 11/17/2007, -0/+5That sounds like a good movie he is from, but it sounds like it completely gave the ending away, unless there is more to the movie...
- cecinestpasvrai, on 11/17/2007, -0/+2No, the movie's great, that happens like in the first 1/3 of the film. Highly recommend.
- sgtbutterscotch, on 11/17/2007, -0/+5That sounds like a good movie he is from, but it sounds like it completely gave the ending away, unless there is more to the movie...
- Hermitwise, on 11/17/2007, -13/+1Seems like he said "fux" instead of "fix" and was embarrassed.
- alski707, on 11/17/2007, -0/+28I took it as despair over the fact that the internet could be less sleazy and more restrained than a TV news channel
- Takteek, on 11/18/2007, -1/+1It sounded like he kept messing up word pronunciations slightly and at the end he just gave up.
- cecinestpasvrai, on 11/17/2007, -1/+16He always does that. He's got a bit of a Howard Beale thing in his broadcast.
- Meccabilly, on 11/17/2007, -15/+6Now, at the risk of being Dugg down to Australia... I heard a rumour that it was banned because of some newscorp connection - is this tinfoil hat time or slightly sinister/cynical.
- AnimZero, on 11/17/2007, -6/+6No, it may actually be true what with the WSJ ***** going on recently.
- Triachus, on 11/17/2007, -0/+2I can't understand how the WSJ crowd could ever be more important than the crowd that hates Fox News. Especially around here. Just get a stock ticker on the bottom of your browser and say, "***** FOX AND FRIENDS" at the top.
- Kronos6948, on 11/17/2007, -3/+11I don't think so, because Kevin reposted the story after realizing it wasn't TOS abuse. He even placed it back on the front page.
- st0ney, on 11/17/2007, -5/+9Man I miss the Dan and Keith show
- TheLeeDynasty, on 11/18/2007, -1/+0I do too, I do too. I went to ESPNradio.com to see if Dan Patrick still had a show and I was sadden to see that he didnt :(.
- TheKarmaPolice, on 11/17/2007, -6/+231finally we know who's been submitting all of those keith olberman videos on digg...it was KEITH OLBERMAN!
god bless him. - badqat, on 11/17/2007, -128/+8Washed up sports reporter turned extremely low rated MSNBC shill. And yet he still can't get ratings...
- vade79, on 11/17/2007, -7/+65He gets good ratings, do you even look ***** up before you speak?
- badqat, on 11/17/2007, -54/+3His ratings are in the toilet. Just because you and three other people watch Olbermann doesn't mean his ratings are good.
Yes, I have seen the ratings...have you?- Triachus, on 11/17/2007, -3/+34Even my ***** grandmother loves Olbermann like he was Murrow incarnate. Olbermann's ratings are absolutely fine.
- archiesteel, on 11/17/2007, -1/+20So, according to you, ratings determine the value of the message? I hope you realize how stupid that is, right?
Anyway, surely you have a link to those ratings, since you claim to have seen them. Please post. - cecinestpasvrai, on 11/17/2007, -2/+31Holy ***** guys. The great thing about the internet is you can contextualize people's ***** with facts. Just post a link with evidence to your argument, and then *poof* the other guy's an *****.
http://media.www.michigandaily.com/media/storage/p ...
FTA: Keith Olbermann, the popular sportscaster-turned-newsman who hosts "Countdown" on MSNBC, has for months openly challenged the prince of darkness himself, Bill O'Reilly, in both ratings and relevance. By competing directly with "The O'Reilly Factor," once the unquestioned king of cable news, Olbermann has won over a significant number of viewers, even occasionally surpassing O'Reilly's ratings among the all-important 25-54 age demographic
This, as far as anyone in television is concerned, is ratings, and big ratings for that age crowd.- arTech, on 11/17/2007, -14/+2Idiots like him throw ***** at the wall hoping it will stick and no one will question them.
- p0s3r, on 11/17/2007, -4/+1http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/ratings/the_sc ...
Actual ratings not uncited editorialized news. Note KO is less than half of BO in the "key deomographic" and 1/4th of BO overall. - cecinestpasvrai, on 11/18/2007, -0/+2Wrong pOs3r-. Way to cherry pick data from the date of the Democratic Debate by the way. Clever. You know what, everyone go to that link anyway. Make your way back to the main site and take a look at the numbers over time. Olberman beats CNN every day, and gets the highest ratings at all on MSNBC. Great, he's got less of an audience than Bill-0 the sexual predator, who happens to be the supreme ratings king of cable news. Just because he's not #1 doesn't mean he isn't successful and having great ratings as far as cable news is concerned.
- p0s3r, on 11/18/2007, -1/+1@cecinest
I picked the most recent day they had available!
http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/ratings/
Take a peak, it's a toss up between KO, Nancy Grace and Rick Sanchez as to who's going to come in last that day.
I guess that means *poof*, you're an *****.
- boombye, on 11/17/2007, -0/+5Yeah please link what you claim to have seen because I think you're a moron. Cable news ratings have lower numbers than prime-time programming, so please don't be comparing him to American Idol or your other show The OC or whatever.
- archiesteel, on 11/17/2007, -1/+2Thanks cecinestpasvrai, I was pretty sure he was ***** us but was too lazy to look it up (hence my request that he post a link). Fortunately, you were there to school our sorry asses. :-)
- boombye, on 11/17/2007, -1/+2I second that, thanks for schooling this fool.
- badqat, on 11/17/2007, -54/+3His ratings are in the toilet. Just because you and three other people watch Olbermann doesn't mean his ratings are good.
- boombye, on 11/17/2007, -2/+7Gets good ratings, and all my friends know who he is, and we're around our mid-20s...Most of the guys don't even know of him from MSNBC, they're used to having seen him on ESPN or whatever and now he's on NBC for Sunday Night Football since he has a background in sports not to mention he's got MSNBC's most watched program lately.
- vade79, on 11/17/2007, -7/+65He gets good ratings, do you even look ***** up before you speak?
- nicku, on 11/17/2007, -17/+7censorship ftw.
- iamnotrich, on 11/17/2007, -16/+6I hope they don't ban this story
- AnimZero, on 11/17/2007, -18/+4Knowing Digg, I bet they're going to delete this article from the front page for "violating the TOS" too.
- JohnM5, on 11/17/2007, -4/+20seriously, just shut up with all this 'digg is out to get us'. This isn't going to be removed for violating the TOS or some other lame reason. It was even dugg by jay adelson.
- CallanHans, on 11/17/2007, -9/+4^ What he said ^
- JohnM5, on 11/17/2007, -4/+20seriously, just shut up with all this 'digg is out to get us'. This isn't going to be removed for violating the TOS or some other lame reason. It was even dugg by jay adelson.
- xerigen, on 11/17/2007, -4/+55Amazing that TV clips from Fox News wasn't allowed on digg. Especially considering all of the nsfw stories, swearing, and illegal activities that are discussed openly here. Even more hilarious that the national media picked up on it.
- Triachus, on 11/17/2007, -0/+4In all its hypocritical glory, the story was linked all over the internet on liberal blogs like Crooks and Liars. Any non-drudge fan over 13 years old should have seen it.
- John213, on 11/17/2007, -1/+2is it really that surprising? The headline of the story had the word "porn" in it. Thats just asking for some minimum wage moderator to ban it
- Sterango, on 11/18/2007, -0/+4guys IT GOT UNBANNED. Kevin Rose issued a statement here yesterday saying they were sorry after looking into the matter more.
- mojaam, on 11/17/2007, -4/+132Who diggs the digg-it song at the end haha.
- brownsound00, on 11/17/2007, -0/+3CAN YOU DIGG IT????
/the warriors - anachronaut, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1Yeah, there's always a song which was relevant to whatever the subject of the #1 position was when Countdown cuts to commercial. That's just one more reason I love that show... they go that extra mile with their attention to detail, and I always enjoy seeing how the topic and song are going to match up. That's one of KO's trademarks, as I remember seeing that same thing routinely done on his sports commentary.
- brownsound00, on 11/17/2007, -0/+3CAN YOU DIGG IT????
- Gabberwok, on 11/17/2007, -3/+35Notice the music in the background? "Come on baby, digg it!"
Dammit, mojaam beat me to it! - Vicujozobenaxod, on 11/17/2007, -54/+7I wouldn't doubt Olbermann has minions here pumping him up on Digg. That's the sad fact of community-submitted news: it's a ripe situation for organized hijacking of the news.
That's why there's so much left-wing trash on here: liberals don't get heard any other way but on a website because no one wants to listen to them.- archiesteel, on 11/17/2007, -4/+40Actually, the majority of Americans have liberal views. I know you don't want to face the facts, but *you* are the minority, not only on Digg, but in America.
- boombye, on 11/17/2007, -3/+7This is quite true. No where in the city of Chicago have I ever met a Bush supporter, in all his years in office. I hang around with people of all different ethnic backgrounds, that like all kinds of different music, so it's not like I hang with a certain group of people.. I'm very open minded about who I'm hanging out with, this includes Bush supporters, I'd be hanging out with them too if I knew any.
- bruenig, on 11/17/2007, -1/+5The south.
- senatorpjt, on 11/17/2007, -0/+6Key word is city. Try asking around in rural Wyoming who people support.
- boombye, on 11/29/2007, -0/+1They don't meet much brown people, so I can see why they'd jump at the chance to go to war with some that are a supposed threat to the freedom of rural Wyoming.
- boombye, on 11/17/2007, -3/+7This is quite true. No where in the city of Chicago have I ever met a Bush supporter, in all his years in office. - mushoo, on 11/17/2007, -1/+10Ahhh the curse of being a tin foil right wing whore!
We'll bitch and bemoan the liberal media and it's vice-like grip on pretty much everything, so much so that we poor conservative folks have been relegated to just occupy Fox News and pretty much all talk radio.
Get your points straight. Either the evil left dominates the media you so love to bitch about or it doesn't get heard like you are claiming here. - arTech, on 11/17/2007, -1/+7Ok Mr. 20%. 80% of America is anti-GOP right now:)
- Modizzle, on 11/18/2007, -1/+2We really need another civil war.
- archiesteel, on 11/17/2007, -4/+40Actually, the majority of Americans have liberal views. I know you don't want to face the facts, but *you* are the minority, not only on Digg, but in America.
- More4, on 11/17/2007, -7/+19great show on MSNBC - Keith & his guests explain the story behind the news
- Triachus, on 11/17/2007, -10/+5The seeds of a digg revolution? This is our Boston Massacre.
- bpacana, on 11/17/2007, -5/+4i love his reaction in the end!
- swoopdog, on 11/17/2007, -5/+36digg + olbermann = automatic digg
- chijim70, on 11/17/2007, -1/+5as it should be.
- Kronos6948, on 11/17/2007, -7/+53It's a shame Olbermann didn't get the whole story and mention how Kevin released the story again after realizing it wasn't TOS abuse.
- dn11, on 11/17/2007, -1/+10but it's funnier this way
- agilligan, on 11/17/2007, -0/+56Well, he did say "briefly banned...".
- VargVikernes, on 11/17/2007, -0/+1Why couldn't he read his own TOS first and then make a decision?
- dasdef, on 11/17/2007, -2/+1hey thats seriously pretty cool.
- str3ama, on 11/17/2007, -1/+3lol love the cheesy digg music at the end 'come on digg it' lol
- RedHeadedFreak, on 11/17/2007, -36/+7The only funny thing about Keith Olbermann is that he can't actually get ratings on his own, but instead, has to whine about Fox News 24/7 like a child just to get all the digg moonbats to watch. And, of course, I'll get dugg down for that comment, which will be ironic since this is a story about censorship, and that's all digg is--censorship of comments deviating from the common left-wing group think.
- gsadamb, on 11/17/2007, -1/+16It's ironic that someone who uses the phrase "moonbat" is pointing at someone else for adhering to groupthink. Come up with that one on your own?
- Swift2, on 11/17/2007, -0/+8Nah, he got it from Malkin on the O'Reilly crapfest.
- rekenner, on 11/17/2007, -2/+15Also ironic is that you're whining about someone whining about news.
- gsadamb, on 11/17/2007, -1/+16It's ironic that someone who uses the phrase "moonbat" is pointing at someone else for adhering to groupthink. Come up with that one on your own?
- windyridge, on 11/17/2007, -6/+8We need people like Keith, loud and clear and often!!
- MikeonTV, on 11/17/2007, -5/+5One schmuck just trying to beat down another schmuck!
- wedges, on 11/17/2007, -1/+13is he supporting digg or hating on it?
- CapeKid, on 11/17/2007, -0/+6Neither, he is pointing out the humor in removing news footage because it contained illicit content. "Best person in the world" is just a vehicle for that point.
- skews13, on 11/17/2007, -8/+3hey diggers.we are the future of political discussion in this country.
to digg nation;BEST PERSONS IN THE WORLD!- fcukbush, on 11/17/2007, -1/+9"hey diggers.we are the future of political discussion in this country"
Political discussion in the future sounds like it's going to be limited to iphones, lolcats and spoof news.- skews13, on 11/18/2007, -0/+0hey,if i've got to become technically saavy like the kids.everybody else has to.after growing up with black, and white tv as a kid.this ***** is great
- fcukbush, on 11/17/2007, -1/+9"hey diggers.we are the future of political discussion in this country"
- BeyondDGrave, on 11/17/2007, -11/+2Keith is the exact same as Bill, they both have rather obvious menstrual cycles, that only occur when viewers are watching.
- supermanred, on 11/17/2007, -4/+16This isn't surprising, a lot of mainstream news uses DIGG as a source of news, if only for those quirky stories that don't make the major news feeds. I have noticed a trend here in Toronto with the local newspapers, the Star and Sun mostly. When a story hits Digg, and I tell my friends who don't use the internets or Digg about it, its usually a day later or two days later that the story appears in the local news. I know some of the reporters/researchers at the major news outlets take notice and are most likely digg members.
Makes sense, user generated news. I have always thought Digg should morph more into a news site, with a format like that of MSNBC's with pics, articles etc formatted on the front page to look like a newspaper or news web site. Right now it looks too much like a database spewing its contents in bullet list format. I should mock up an image of what Digg should look like and submit it.
Kudos to Digg, and keep up the good work. And Kevin / Alex if you are reading this, keep in mind that the minute this site becomes a lackey to the corporate upper class puppet masters we will move to somebody else's site who doesnt give a ***** about the corporate upper class puppet masters.- unloud, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1"I have always thought Digg should morph more into a news site, with a format like that of MSNBC's with pics, articles etc formatted on the front page to look like a newspaper or news web site. Sounds like Newsvine

- 2gig, on 11/17/2007, -2/+2It's neat, but don't fool yourself - there was a calculation there. They don't make websites with only a few dozen users "best person in the world".
- Scheissen, on 11/17/2007, -4/+1Keith Olbermann is cool, some of the times.
- MetalliTooL, on 11/17/2007, -1/+10I don't get it. Why is Digg the BEST "person" in the world for censoring the website...?

- fender06, on 11/17/2007, -0/+8He was poking fun at the fact that on the internet, home to depths of sleeze beyond most peoples imaginations, content soley aired on Fox News disguised as a porn site was enough to get it banned (NnyCW)
- MetalliTooL, on 11/17/2007, -3/+1Even if that was the point, I don't understand why he praised Digg.
- meteors, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1I agree; this whole thing is a bit unclear to me.
I still love Olberman though.

- TheZorch, on 11/17/2007, -1/+1I hope this and other stories send a message to the heads of Digg.com to not get in bed with Newscorp and to stop banning people for senseless *****. Digg this post, make it number one and send a message that we need to save Digg, because if Newscorp gets it Digg is doomed.
- AladinSane, on 11/17/2007, -1/+0OH NOES IT IZ TEH DOOMED! Because lord knows there aren't any OTHER pea-brained News Aggregates out there with moronic chat forums where the hyper-excitable can gather and talk about how EVERYTHING is "the end of the world as we know it."
- Swift2, on 11/17/2007, -1/+1They're the best for realizing the mistake. Was this a machine-generated thing, because of the occurence of the world "PORN" in the title? And then Kevin looked it over and said, "Whoops"?
- jkbowman, on 11/17/2007, -2/+6We'll look back twenty years from now and remember Keith Olbermann as one of the few who spoke for freedom...
That is, if we have any freedom left....- Bamont, on 11/17/2007, -0/+1Spoke for freedom? Give me a break. Liking the guy is one thing - I tend to think his show is comical at times, unfortunately, Olbermann isn't the bastion of hope for America. He's a voice on one side of the proverbial fence - his opinion just happens to fit the majorities.
- Brassbud, on 11/17/2007, -12/+1Eww Keith Olbermann. Its bad enough I have to hear him whine every week on SNF, lets please not give that man any more air time than he already has.
- Vash3001, on 11/17/2007, -7/+1Keith Olbermann is a dick.
- ralph12c41, on 11/17/2007, -5/+1We are moving in a dangerous direction as a country when our hero's are those who "hate" rather than those who have the best ideas. Mr.Olbermann is playing to the worst aspects of our human nature for the sake of building an audience of like minded "haters".
- skews13, on 11/18/2007, -0/+0you know i think the same thing every time i hear talk radio,or see fox news on tv
- ralph12c41, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1I'll bet you do...

- billyverden, on 11/17/2007, -0/+1excuse me if i'm wrong, but doesn't he say the F-word at the end right before he throws the papers? I mean i saw this particular episode and tivo'd it back several times and he seems to be saying, "scenes from actual F***..." then when he realizes what he is saying, he garbles the flicks/scenes/movies part. But i could be wrong. Lol.
- m0neybags, on 11/18/2007, -0/+2"scenes from actual fox newscasts" would make a lot of sense.
- riverstyx, on 11/18/2007, -3/+1I like it, I like sex! It's niiiice!
- petebert, on 11/18/2007, -0/+5who picks up all the papers, does keith do it himself?
- irsmert, on 11/18/2007, -1/+1coconut creme fudgsicles anyone?
- obxjdt, on 11/18/2007, -7/+2Wow, so now Obie has to read digg to get a story....digg 1, Obie -63,871.......
Is he still on his O'Riely (-5 sp) commentary kick? Why can't he find something to talk about besides BillyO & Fox? Such a sad pitiful shell of a man..... He's just begging for a law suit.
Think about this for a minute. News/blog is posted online, gets posted to digg, Obie puts it on his comedy show. He's selling 3rd generation news. Way to break a story Obie!!! Most of your viewers have already commented about it on digg long before you went on the air with it.....Like 24-48 hours before he commented on it.- JonTheGoose, on 11/18/2007, -1/+3We all know it's you, Bill. You aren't fooling anyone.
- obxjdt, on 11/25/2007, -0/+1shut up Obie!!!!

- meteors, on 11/18/2007, -1/+2I might just be uber-overanalyziing here, but hear me out:
I recently returned from living in Australia for about 2 1/2 years. The culture there, particularly among the men, is quite lowbrow, and forsakes almost all serious thought for beer, TV, and naked women. Not that there's anything wrong with naked women, although it did strike me as a fairly sexist/chauvanistic culture.
I think Rupert Murdoch (who many Aussies admire, becuase he was one of their own) is spreading this lowbrow culture to the world's media, becuase -obviously- it makes lots of money.
You can't open a single newspaper in Australia without seeing a huge picture of a girl in a bikinii (a *white* girl, usually blonde). I'm told he has done the same thing to many newspapers in the UK. And now, I think he's doing the same thing to American media, and he doesn't care about the consequences.
-j- quakerob, on 11/18/2007, -2/+1Where were you living?
Sounds more like the UK to me.
Which paper are you talking about? I'd like to see it. The UK is famous for its Page 3 Girls - not Austalia.
I've been living in Australia for 42 years and what you describe certainly isn't it. You sound like a disgruntled POM.
As for "lowbrow" you seem to be the only one that adequately fits the classification. Your profile speaks for itself.- meteors, on 11/18/2007, -1/+1You've been reading the newspapers in your country and haven't noticed the hot babes? You really should have your eyes checked!
I'm not disgruntled; I lived with Aussies and had Aussie girlfriends. It goes without saying that my statements do not apply to all Aussie men. Have you spent much time in the US? In general, we are more conservative, and don't focus as much on nudity, etc. If you had spent much time here, I think the difference in the Aussie media (which generally sucks BTW, although I'm not saying ours is great either), would be striking to you.
Unless you are blind *and* deaf *and* dumb, you would also have noticed the soft core porn commercials which saturate the airwaves on TV after 10pm in your country. Care to dispute that too?
I lived all over Australia, except in WA.
Finally, please elaborate on what it is about my profile which"speaks for itself".
Thanks!
-j
PS -- I'm not a Pom, I'm a Yank.

- quakerob, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1"You've been reading the newspapers in your country and haven't noticed the hot babes? "
No I haven't. Nor have I seen the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot or little grey men.
You still haven't answered my question regarding your original post. Which newspaper(s) are you referring too?
Please provide some substantiative evidence to support your claim (Just a link to a mainstream daily newspaper). Otherwise your post falls into the "Wanker" or "***** Artist" category. (you probably heard that a lot in your 2 1/2 years).- meteors, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1The Age, The Australian, and all the crap newspapers (Cairns Post, NT News).
Same thing for the local televion news broadcasts.
Have you spent time in America? If you haven't experienced our media, then you would have nothing to compare yours to, and you would understandably not get my point.
-j
PS - Everyone has noted you have resorted to calling me names instead of taking on the facts.- quakerob, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1The Australian, The Age???? You've just Googled "Australian Newspapers" and put the names up. The Australian would be equivalent to the NYT....and you claim they have page 3 girls?
(more the fool I am for arguing a point with an imbecile).
- quakerob, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1The Australian, The Age???? You've just Googled "Australian Newspapers" and put the names up. The Australian would be equivalent to the NYT....and you claim they have page 3 girls?
- meteors, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1You actually believe that I Googled those? I LIVED THERE FOR ALMOST 2.5 YEARS!
Go back to my first post. You will notice that I leave open the possibility that I may be overanalyzing. But not you: you are so sure of yourself that you are willing to stoop to making ridiculous allegations.
I'm finished with this thread. I think I've made my point. You've made my point too.
Now go on, take one last shot at me.
