The digg article's title "Why We Applaud" is also inaccurate, as this video merely gives a definition of applause. Even explaining that because we evolved to use our hands more efficiently does not provide reason for the applause.

This supposed researcher brought absolutely NO insight to the table with his "research." He didn't answer a single one of my questions as to why we applaud.
