digital-photography-school.com — Today I want to explore some of the different aspect of the Mona Lisa and point out some things that Leonardo did in painting this image that I think we could take away as portrait photographers today.

Love the way it is presentated… Great job!- crazzy88ss, on 07/24/2008, -1/+2A comment giving praise to the article is dug down. :/
- BuckNutty, on 07/23/2008, -3/+3Excellent article... and inspiring too. I'm not a photographer, but this makes me want to pick up a camera.
- EoghannIrving, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2I'm just an amateur snapper when it comes to photography, but a lot of the lessons in this article can be applied to even the most casual of photography. Something to keep in mind next time I pick up a camera.
- Xette, on 07/23/2008, -1/+2I love anything art.
- BoonTobias, on 07/23/2008, -4/+2then you'll love this fart in yo face!!!!
- cspiegl, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1That post does really help, if you do photography.
I do more since I have my DSLR and think that this post really helps, even in non 'photo shooting' situations, just to have the information in you head helps, to get better pictures shot.
Well at least I hope, but everything sounds really helpful and clear.- dragon76, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Assuming your photographs are composed. The article was about composed portraits.
- BennyGreenberg, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1I just started really getting into photography - this is a great help!
- ColonelTribune, on 07/23/2008, -0/+3It teaches you to say something kind of funny so your subject looks like it's smiling a bit. Or not.
Instant classic! - rjmarmol, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1dugg it! :)
- WaltRibeiro, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1smile :) cheese!
- BuzzDiggity, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1wait mona lisa was a portrait? i thought that was just a movie with julia stiles

- tbhurst, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Thanks for this one. I can use all the help I can get!
- eddy144, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1they should have added that you should print them bigger.
recently saw it- man, its small.- MCA2142, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Maybe it was in the pool, and shrunk a little.
- MikeMania, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1same here. It also doesn't help to have to stand 10 feet away from all the security and crowds of people.
- crc77, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Best way to make people comment on your portrait photo: make your model shave her eyebrows off. They'll be talking about it for centuries to come.
- Modestexcuse, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1Although the article was interesting, the author needs a few lessons in writing. That was difficult to follow with all of the redundancy. It was overwritten in my opinion. How many of those "Take Home Lessons for Today" were the same thing: focus on the subject.
No offense to the submitter, it was still interesting reading someone's perception of the Mona Lisa.
Dugg. - scoottie, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1DaVinci code for photographers
- zohaibusman, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1i'll try to create the new Mona Lisa.
Good Article - grneye53, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Yes the smile tells all about the best shot. It's when your doing the camera man and your old men thinks your there to do a picture for him. As was reported when they cracked the smile code.Reason not found in DaVinci code her old man would have shot him and he wasn't done experimenting !
- Pradsy, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1I was stunned by the crowds of people gathering around this small image, pushing and shoving to get close and to take a picture of it (I got some great shots of the crowd).

Not sure how he managed it.. No one is allowed to take pictures of Monalisa painting..
+ Even Da Vinci wouldnt have thought of so many things when he painted Monalisa. Not in his dreams would he have thought that his painting would be the most studied one in the coming centuries. - nickbyfleet, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Whats so special about Mona Lisa? I don't get it.
- Protoman, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1I saw the Mona Lisa in The Louvre over a year ago and one thing that I found odd was how small this painting actually is. I normally had imagined seeing a fairly large painting maybe a metre or so high but it was pretty compact.
- insomniac11, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0great article thanks for sharing !
