- krazyc306, on 01/23/2008, -0/+3moosetoga you have no clue what you are talking about, did you even read the article? One high school senior with a gpa of 3.977 called Dean Tisaldt at home POLITELY after Dean didn't respond to 2 emails or pick up his work phone. His wife called back with a message that was completely out of line, which was promptly posted on the internet and CAUSED others of kids to call in response!! Students didn't want to just miss school (although that would be nice) many of them have to walk or drive home and the conditions were horrendous.
maybe you should grow up and learn how to read...i believe we leaned that in 1st grade. - mooniker, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1Voice message from Dean's wife on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeqCnIX14eQ&
There's no recording of the student's message on the Dean's home answering machine circling the internets (yet) that started this all, but unless the student was being overly rude (in addition to calling the Dean's personal non-office number about a public/school matter), the Dean's wife overreacted. He shouldn't have called the wrong number, she shouldn't have insulted him. - CiscoTM, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1so where is the audio clip ?
- krazyc306, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1the mbc story was BIASED and got the whole story wrong, even misquoted Dave Kori (the student)
He called him at home because he didn't get a response to emails or work phone calls. Dean tisdalt even admits that Dave called in a polite manor. His wife then called back being nasty, and that is what triggered the "harassing" phone calls that followed. - Brendanrhys, on 01/23/2008, -0/+0There were no phone calls in the middle of the night until after she left that message, as far as I can tell from the article. Apparently the guy sent a couple emails, and with no response, called him from school at lunch, seeing if he was home.
- moosetoga, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1Read the MSNBC story on this; it implies that the calls were made before the voicemail was posted on YouTube.
Regardless, why would he be calling the superintendent's home other than to harass him? - moosetoga, on 01/23/2008, -4/+2I don't blame her for getting pissed. If a bunch of kids called to harass me for doing my job, especially in the middle of the night, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't react too rationally.
All grade school students get a little pissed at the superintendent when it snows heavily but no snow day gets called, but most of them have the common sense to understand that forecasts are unpredictable and all decisions are being made in their best interest.
In conclusion, grow up.
