- hersheymagic2, on 10/10/2007, -3/+114Great video on how to hide your porn!
- Buddhist, on 10/10/2007, -3/+85Dugg for appropriately using the term "hack"
- gr0ss, on 10/10/2007, -1/+64Now everyone knows where I keep my porn :(.
- NicksVideo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+61Yeah, that dead, unused 8 plug UPS sitting on your floor near your new, used UPS won't look the least bit suspicious. Especially when it's plugged into your PC.
- mr1337, on 10/10/2007, -2/+49Erm... Don't you mean, "Important data"?
- Ocelot13, on 10/10/2007, -0/+46are all videos on metacafe made the same guy? i swear in every video i watch on there, its that voice!
- plizard, on 10/10/2007, -2/+47flash drive does the same thing!
- hipnerd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+43What's the difference?
- o0adam0o, on 10/10/2007, -6/+47Burried for using en emachine!
- JlmAWP, on 10/10/2007, -0/+37Dugg up for your enthusiasm.
- OdinEye, on 10/10/2007, -2/+36Sadly, I saw UPS, and wondered what role the truck driver would have in the whole process...
- swatward, on 10/11/2007, -5/+38Why not just mod your computer to look like a Teddy Bear. Who would suspect a Teddy Bear of downloading pr0n?
- dewt, on 10/10/2007, -2/+29The RIAA doesn't care if its on your hard drive, but whatever makes you feel better. :)
- Buddhist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+27Do you happen to be a seven-year-old girl?
- mexicanman07, on 10/10/2007, -0/+27important data is the porn you dont want anyone to know you watch
- driftwood07, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25if you have a voltmeter and soldering iron :
- JRHodes88, on 10/10/2007, -3/+23Everyone looks at porn....come on, is there really any need to hide it? I'd be more suspicious if there wasn't porn on someones somputer
- prabjot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17kipkay you got competition ! ...
....wait ...someone is stealing your speech style :) - Buddhist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16What if it's porn music?
- Buddhist, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17Are you saying you'd be suspicious if there wasn't porn in your grandparents' computer?
- roeboedog, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16I like hiding it in a locked image file, but this is a great hack!
- tomis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14What if there's a nuclear holocaust and the internet goes down forever. You better stock up now man. A few hundred terabytes should be enough.
- AsianChopsticks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Now I definitely have to watch this...
- Foliot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12I would.
If it was a pedo-teddy-bear. - tomis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12By learning how to use your OS, or Google.
- DeFex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11LOL you might wabt to disconnect that huge TRANSFORMER which is generating a magnetic field right next to the drive as well.
- MrHappy123, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Do i have to break my working UPS to do this?
- toxicityj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9wouldn't it just be easer to buy an external harddrive and hide the cables for it?
- KMye, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Erm... Don't you mean, "Imporntant data"?
- SubaruPowah, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Only 10 easy steps!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Aww, now I'll need a fake ID to rent ultra-porn
- mdshort, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9FYI most UPS units can function without a battery as a power strip.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10"UPS Backup dead?"
- suprxtragrav, on 12/09/2008, -0/+8Dugg for "Now imagine you want a safe place to storeyour po- .. important data"
anyways im a bit scared of opening certain UPS's since they probably have live capacitors inside. I think they should have had a warning about that. - Krhis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Which can then be hidden in a power strip. :D
- matthewf01, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8" Fiesta???? That means party!!!! "
*click* - tHePeOPle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Are you telling us you have two porn stashes? A legit one to distract from the creepy fetish one? Because if so, that's a really well thought out idea. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some files to move.
- JRPereira, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8The answer is always "MORE!".
- daridave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I suppose that's a line you read with a gay accent, eh ? Bravo, man... bravo...
- Spuy767, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Are you dense? There isn't a hell of a lot of circulation in the HD compartment of a laptop either. If anything, being inside the UPS would improve reliability because of the reduced thermal range.
- Whammo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Sad the lengths married guys have to go to simply to get off.
- zmjone2992, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6but they are heavy
- mrogi, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8My 16GB Corsair USB flash drive contains all my important porn. It is small, removable and encrypted. The perfect stealth solution.
- Harbinger67, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Oh yeah man, a soldering iron and ohmmeter are really advanced equipment.
- Buddhist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I'm telling mom!
- cyberscape2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5"Ultra-porn"?
- dbr_onix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Unplug the UPS from the wall, plug something in (like a lamp or something) and try and power it on - should discharge most of the capacitors. If your still paranoid you could leave it unplugged for a while.
I wouldn't be too worried about it however. Unless your licking the PCB's as you disassemble the board, it incredibly unlikely anything will happen (I remember disassembling computer monitors as a child. My mother was worried, my dad reassured her by saying something along the lines off "It won't explode. If it does break it'll only implode - it's a vacum") - kalleanka, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Except that when they found the drive they will probably see what's on it and you are busted.
