- jmz635, on 10/12/2007, -5/+32Your comment is a dupe. From today and yesterday, and the day before. Its even a dupe from months ago.
SHUT THE ***** UP. - funkychikensays, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25its not gas, its diesel
- springfield, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23Top Gear is such an excellent show. It must be the best job in the world to present on it!
- theHM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmAK4OB9RkQ
- shiftt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19..and they had someone deliver them pizza :)
- Mesach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Since this is a british show, by domestic i suppose you mean....
This was a very favorable review of a GERMAN car... Please back up your claim. - zaders, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Thats great.. amazing how much we could save by driving properly.
- RichPowers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16TopGear is an amazing show - I remember the episode where they lived in a car for 24 straight hours hehehe
- ductoogle, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17I renmber this from Dig 2.0 its still good though and a bunch of new people get to see it.
- nyyankee13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13http://www.finalgear.com has a list to torrents from past and new episodes.
- BassCadet, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14"I think some peole just like posting the same stuff twice."
OR....maybe, just maybe, there are some diggers here who don't hit F5 all day long for the last two years to catch every single news item.
You dupe whiners do everything you can to ruin the digg experience.
Now, shoo. - RubeusEsclair, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Deisel produces more power per RPM. It would be impossible in a gas powered car.
- Lososaurus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11@that1jewishguy: I'd value their opinion, I don't have anything good to say about American cars.
- wurzelgummage, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Not if your name's Hammond.
- B0jangles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9*cough* UKnova.com for all you British TV Licence wannabees.
- gregmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I love that Audi said that he couldn't do it but he was like "yea whatever"
staying under 2000rpms is huge. Shows that audi/vw is building some very impressive diesel engines. Just a precursor to their LeMans car - consoneo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Slightly ironic how you duped your comment, isn't it ? *grin*
- sm1l3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8he really made it...........
- arizonagroove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"staying under 2000rpms is huge."
staying under 1200rpms, as he states he did in part 2, is ever bigger then. - imotbh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I've got to agree with BassCadet. Who cares if the story has been featured once before months ago? digg had a lot less users months ago and there are a lot more new guys who are interested in this sort of stuff. Besides, if people find it interesting enough to digg to the front page twice, then so be it.
I know it might be hard to believe, but when a story that piques someones interest shows up, not all digg users are going to run a search to see if the same story was featured before and digg the older one when they can just digg the current story. Honestly.
It's a community driven website. And the community are not nitpicking perfectionists that feel they have to make absolutely sure that only one story ever, ever, EVER hits the frontpage only ONCE because TWICE would cause the universe to implode. I digg what interests me, old or not. Yes, I can understand it might be annoying if the same story gets featured on the front page twice within a short timespan. But this story was featured, I quote, "MONTHS ago". So who cares? If you don't like it, don't digg it. - Ramble, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10You mean like the Noble series of cars? They're considered one of the best handling cars in the world, something Americans don't know how to do.
- Teaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Guess who invented those measurements? :D
(although Americans altered the gallon for some reason, and it's litres, not liters!) - kozie, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13This is REALLY old.
- Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5NO, Because it is diesel. Diesel does not go boom like gasoline does. You can throw a match into a bucket of Diesel and all that happens is the match goes out. I've tried it.
- al28p, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9good, but duplicate story. They had this maybe 6 months ago. Go Audi!!
- foolonthehill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5We like to mix the metric and Imperial systems in the UK, for maximum confusion of foreigners. Most British people are quite comfortable talking about and switching between both.
Officially, we're on the metric system with a few exceptions (road signs being the only one I can think of right now), but people usually use Imperial units for their height and weight amongst numerous other day-to-day things. - wshphoto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I love the show. Too bad the US doesn't get the episodes til 2 years after they air in the UK... Anybody know when we'll get more????
- TiMMY8765, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@wowbagger
if you are no longer impressed with your 911, feel free to send it to me. - BassJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'd also like to add that little company called Ariel to the list, they make that little rocket called the Atom that turned up on here a few times before, not to mention the numerous other small kit car companys (Caterham, Radical etc.)
I don't agree that Top Gear is biased, I think they just tell it how it is! If they get a bad handling/poorly designed car they tell you, regardless of wheather it's from the UK, US, Germany or Italy! - StokieBread, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Funny, I thought the English used 'kilometers' and 'liters', but they kept referring to 'miles' and 'gallons'."
We do use miles in the UK but now petrol (gas to most of you) is priced in litres. - elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The difference between gas and diesel should've been noted, as diesel engines tend to be significantly more efficient.
- pixelmixer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3a 911..? ... you drive an ambulance?? ;) *smirk*
- Amnesia10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It is pretty unbiased. They loved the Australian muscle car, and whilst they love the Aston (who doesn't?) they slatted many of the American cars for being too bulky, for British roads, and in the case of the Ford GT40 which they loved apart from the need to fill the tank far too often. They will criticise any and every nations cars. The one thing that they do all hate are caravans, I am sure that the American Diggers will one day find a video on YouTube of them using one for a weekend. One of the funniest things ever.
- Lososaurus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Clarkson for the win...
- terrablebyte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Imperial ftw!
Top Gear is one of the best shows on TV. Its a shame the rest of the world are so far behind.
Hmm... The Bugatti Veyron episode was another memory of mine, as well as 2 weeks ago, when they when caravanning.
Happy times. :D - bigteebo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just use mininova + azureus and you can watch top gear about 3-4 hours after it has been aired. That's what I've been doing + Doctor Who since they butcher the Discovery channel airings.
- monkeymad2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just don't click the " XX comments" button...?
- LilGator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2May I ask why you then contributed ?
- Teaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2An example: Milk and Beer (from a pub) come in pints, but canned/bottled drinks come in 330/500ml.
- M2Ys4U, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2We use metric for nearly everything else
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I didn't even know the TV show aired here in the US.. what channel is it?
- 15charmaxwtf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It hasn't been allowing signups for months.
- Teaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It has, but you get 2-3 signups and it's closed again. I'm guessing they have a limit, and when someone gets banned/deleted you get a chance to sign up. Keep trying!
- AICkieran, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@mrASSMAN...
Yeah because Jaguar, Aston martins, Lotus, Tvr, noble, Rolls royce, Bentley, McLaren's, range rovers, Land rovers etc all suck.... Yeah right.
(Granted some of those arent owned by british companies anymore, But theyre still designed and built here) - joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ahhhh. A Top Gear classic.
This usually shows up on UKTV.... Gold, Documentary, something......On a fairly regular basis. I love those channels. You can watch top gear all day everyday. - christoscamaro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Tog gear is awesome.
http://www.finalgear.com/ has torrents to all of their episodes. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"TopGear sucks, their opinions on cars are extremely bias towards many domestic car companies."
Domestic ? What on earth are you talking about ?
If by "domestic" you mean American, well that's not surprising since American cars are crap.
By the way it's "biased", not just "bias". - bodger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1*obtain* the British aired versions. The North American broadcasts are cut and not a patch on the originals.
