- HydroSliders, on 10/15/2007, -1/+14I'm always ready to go high-tech for halloween... except I'm not allowed near the knives anymore....
- bmcnitt, on 10/15/2007, -0/+8I like that he screwed the switch into the pumpkin.
- TriviallyTravis, on 10/15/2007, -0/+7This is cool, but I don't find the LED glow to be nearly as satisfying as the flicker effect you get from a flame.
Still, a good solution for situations where a flame is not possible. - WootZoot, on 10/15/2007, -1/+8Whats wrong with just lighting a damn candle?
- mediaploy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6good thing he mounted the switch!
- pbuschma, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Cooler than expected? Wow
- ZackScott, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4Oops! Here's the real link:

Yes yes... burning a pumpkin is hard but it can be and has been done. If your pumpkin is outside then candle away but indoors it is a no no. - geekwithsoul, on 10/15/2007, -0/+3Just setup a few of them in different colors (3 orange, 2 yellow, 1 red) and have them cycle on and off out of sync with each other--- there you've got a flicker
- tacojohn48, on 10/15/2007, -0/+3So now somebody needs to mod this and make it cycle through colors or blink.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It resists..... ba da bing!!!!!!! Just kidding, it limits the current flow through the diode.
- ZackScott, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Actually the particular LED is rated at 2.4 V. Here's the circuit diagram:
http://www.instructables.com/id/SJ1UIZXF7A2B1T1/ - AlDaTbagsNChina, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Seams like a lot of work for something that will rot in a week or 2
- Ductapemaster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Wow that guy cant solder...
- RubberBinder, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That's exactly what I was thinking.
- SparkyPine, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Let's say I wanted to rig something like that up so I can put an LED light (or two) under my monitor to create indirect light on my keyboard. This way I can see my keyboard in dim light (which at both work and home is all the time). What type of resisters could I use so I can use a spare USB port as the power source?
(by the way, this would make an excellent tutorial if anyone is interested) - creep303, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2It's the future, now!
- Meatetarian, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They're cool! Also, they don't get hot.
Haha! I am so clever. =( - centran, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1an LED needs about 1.2-1.5 volts. A battery gives off 1.5 but he is using 2 and in series so he is getting 3 volts which would blow the LED.
- centran, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Nice... I have been playing with the wrong LEDs.
- flxfxp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Lol, i thought the title said candlejack, ahwell i shou
- vinnythekidd, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1You've gotta be kidding me. Does anyone here not know how to make a simple circuit?
- Bluemanz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Well, that was a lot cooler than I expected. I think I will actually make one this Halloween.
- NonpareilNagle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1i would appreciate it
- TokenWhiteGuy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Or take the component that makes the light flicker out of an old electric candle.
- GorfTron, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2What does the resister do?
- hokeywebb22, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Sweet. i had the idea to make one this year since I got to a tech school and the dorms don't allow candles. this will make it a lot easier to complete now.
- creep303, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Did you just not answer your own question within the question?
- s1nister, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0You need a resister so that the voltage doesn't grow exponentially and blow up the LED.
- ZackScott, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1In case people are interested, here is a step-by-step Instructable:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Mini-LED-Jack-O-La ... - inactive, on 10/15/2007, -7/+2How does this ***** make the front page.....gee should i next come onhere and say how to make a Tiny paper plane with full instructions ?
