- TrevorBradley, on 01/17/2008, -3/+123Google search: "Idealogy"
Google Result: "Did you mean: Ideology" - djixl, on 01/17/2008, -8/+110shocking "truth"? who says this is true? some conspiracy theorist with after effects skills?
unfortunately good graphics doesn't make your point any more valid. - inactive, on 01/17/2008, -10/+77A lot of speculation but few hard facts here. I'd love Google to be the puppet masters of some evil plan just as much as the next guy, but this video is all eye candy and a British university student trying to sound serious.
- mrheyguy, on 01/17/2008, -8/+55$ergey Brin, €ric Schmidt, £arry Page
^awesome - DeusNova, on 01/17/2008, -8/+50Even if Google takes over the world...it couldn't be that bad.
- sorbix, on 01/17/2008, -1/+41[citation needed]
- grimfandango, on 01/17/2008, -7/+47quick, put your tinfoil hats on!
- Incidents, on 01/17/2008, -2/+35Whatever Google doesn't know about you isn't worth knowing.
- lewzer, on 01/17/2008, -5/+37Is it just me or does that come off as a bit paranoid?
- gidonyto, on 01/17/2008, -7/+36I now know how we can capture Osama. Someone out there needs to convince him to get Gmail and send an e-mail to one of his buddies so Google can track him down and send in the feared Google SWAT (Special Website Attack Tactics) team. I'm almost positive this is how we caught Saddam.
- phr33ksho, on 01/17/2008, -7/+28That video was stupid, alarmist, and pretty delusional / paranoid. I thought they were going to go resident evil when they started talking about google doing molecular genetics research. What kind of research? I've not heard of this
- inactive, on 01/17/2008, -3/+23Why does everyone get wrong why google became popular?
It's not the searching algorithms even if they were good. It's something much more simple. It's so simple, it's simplicity itself: When others like yahoo were ***** up visitors with a billion advertisements and a cazillion sub-sections, google just went:
box: search. the end. - Treshnell, on 01/17/2008, -2/+20Lots of CIA agents posting here trying to convince me that this is a ridiculous video!
- gekkoeye, on 01/17/2008, -2/+20F.U.D.
- iateronpaul, on 01/17/2008, -1/+19would Google rename Earth to "Google Earth"?
- smek2, on 01/17/2008, -2/+17Oh 5min.com, you and your lame videos. And you call yourself a videopedia?
- JasonMaloney101, on 01/17/2008, -1/+14Global warming? Don't blame us, we told you Earth was still in beta!
- Rtsight, on 01/17/2008, -6/+18Google's currently one of the best companies out there doing good for everyone. You're a conspiracist, creating chaos and problems, but never solutions. Why don't you go back to the medieval world and LOG OFF THE INTERNET. I'm sure no one would care to know who you are and so your privacy can be protected. That'd make a win-win situation.
- bizmowacka, on 01/17/2008, -1/+13not just in soviet russia
- bobcrotch, on 01/17/2008, -10/+21Oh god here we go again. Everything is out to get us, EVEN THE INTRAWEBZ!!!
- mathcreative, on 01/17/2008, -6/+16I hate video's like this one that try to scare you to look at their point of view. I agree with just about
everything the video had mentioned, but I just don't like when they try to use soviet symbols to try to spook you when your watching - regularsteven, on 01/17/2008, -0/+9Want to see where the ideas for this came from? check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3w_tOGgsGsU The design is second rate when compared to the original.
- brownspank, on 01/17/2008, -3/+12Gasp! It can read your mind, too!
- Rhino2, on 01/17/2008, -0/+9Step 1: Put a box on the page
Step 2: Put your search term into the box
Step 3: Get her to open the box. - Kalakov, on 01/17/2008, -1/+10Lets all just go back to good old www.altavista.com
- ronshubby, on 01/17/2008, -1/+10So many inaccuracies..
PageRank is not designed to measure relevance, just popularity. It has other algos to do relevance.
Google has crawled the entire web? That would be a relief to the millions of webmasters out there. - cdigioia, on 01/17/2008, -2/+10More money = more privacy? You mean like how celebrities have lots of privacy? Or high-end politicians?
Or did I misunderstand you? - fkr3, on 01/17/2008, -1/+9There's nothing 'evil' about it, it's simply corporate manipulation of a highly suggestive demographic. "Free" [service] with some token benefit over alternatives, and a hyped up slant to amplify the benefits. It's about money, plain and simple. Your browsing habits, email, [every other service[ is just pieces of your information that helps them better identify how they can make money from you.
- AbsurdParadox, on 01/17/2008, -0/+8And if it turned bad, one could simply choose not to use their services, and soon they would fade away (well, unless they started using force on people... Google Empire?)
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -2/+9At least use a new link.
- cawfee, on 01/17/2008, -1/+7Afghan beekeepers actually train their stock to SEEK OUT and KILL political VIPs!
Your bank of trust uses YOUR SAVINGS to build a giant ray gun with which to ENSLAVE all of mankind!
Your children are being TRAINED BY THE GOVERNMENT to MONITOR you and REPORT YOU to the ... oh wait, that one's already been covered in literature. Sorry. - daakone, on 01/17/2008, -0/+6But the British accent makes it true!
- Iknockstuffdown, on 01/17/2008, -0/+6Thank you for your input.
- formergthing, on 01/17/2008, -1/+6I've been to the Google Campus. I've been to parties thrown by Google. I say bring it on.
- drizzlelicious, on 01/17/2008, -7/+12Where's the shocking truth?
- third_eye, on 01/17/2008, -1/+6About the only thing great about that video was the production quality.
- SweetMercury, on 01/17/2008, -4/+9Now Google will open up an online shop for Tinfoil Hats and rake in the cash...
- senne, on 01/17/2008, -0/+5In partnerschaft mit Amazon.de.
- TheDude01, on 01/17/2008, -4/+9What a load of crap, I've stopped watching right about the part when google started to cooperate with CIA, just after a part when google stored the WHOLE Internet in their database.
Privacy issues? Yes, we are all aware of them but come on! This is just... a load of crap. - defectDS, on 01/17/2008, -3/+8The World, for one, welcomes its new Google overlords.
- BirdCatcher, on 01/17/2008, -2/+6can't we have both?
- ReinMasamuri, on 01/17/2008, -1/+5You forgot some things:
Mass Murder
Genocide
Torturing people to death
Invasion of Kuwait
Breaking the armistice agreement repeatedly
Such a great guy eh? - AdamBGMF, on 01/17/2008, -1/+5The shocking truth is that their products, whilst probably the best, are still rather poor quality, total domination by one company always leads to lack of progress.
- davidrools, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3Of all the entities that have all of my personal information, I probably trust google the most with it in terms of responsible sharing to 3rd parties and maintaining it securely. If you use a credit card, the credit card company has your SSN, and a log of every purchase you've made with the card and where you used it. And they liberally shell out your address and credit info to whoever wants to send you a free card offer in the mail.
Google doesn't log your interest and family members and pets names as this video tries to scare you to think. Their privacy policy is fairly standard, but does limit what they collect, store, and share.
http://www.google.com/privacypolicy.html - masterm1nd, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3Wait... how did google get my entire genetic data?
- twtmc, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3I, for one, welcome our new search engine overlords. They at least try to provide us with things that are convenient and nice, such as wireless internet. Better than having the world run by the RIAA and the FCC I think.
- thewoodman, on 01/17/2008, -2/+5Nice. That made me smile :-)
- ProducedRaw, on 01/17/2008, -1/+4You really think that being rich means being famous? If you're looking for an example you won't find one precisely because they have that privacy we're talking about. Thats the entire point. Celebrities, high end polititians and people at the top of their field are the only famous rich people. What about all the other people with wealth?
- karmahasyou, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3Buried for two reasons:
1.That ridiculous typo in the title.
2.Conspiracy theories are totally lame. - themastersb, on 01/17/2008, -0/+3So. Does Google worry about out priivacy?
