The Mini-Retirement Misconception
thinksimplenow.com — [...] While traveling is an eye-opening experience and a chance to see how others live in vastly different cultures. It is exhausting, on many levels. It quickly became clear to me that the romantic concept of traveling is flawed.

- DLindberg49, on 05/15/2008, -1/+3This article was not only insightful but very timely as I am actually beginning a mini-retirement. I have just lost my tech job at a major corporation due to outsourcing, but I am so very blessed that I was given this chance to follow so many of the ideals that Tina speaks to in her article! I worked for 23 years at this job which although I was fortunate to have and provided a good standard of life for myself and my family, it did not feed my inner-self. I have been a musician for over 40 years but have never put all of my efforts into making it my life's work. Now, I have been given this gift to do exactly that and I will not waist it! I am beginning to write music and will strive to create a life of writing and performing my God given talent that will not only provide some financial help into my retirement years but fulfill my life long dream of putting my all into what I do best! (something that I have put on the back burner for so many years) So, Tina's article is adding to my focus of that effort and I plan on enjoying and making the best of the future!
