- Grub, on 10/12/2007, -4/+91cool idea, but when i heard the description, i was waiting for magic bullets to turn around corners! not a folding gun =/
- Simen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+56Yeah, sure, but where the hell is McGyver?
- soad2k8, on 10/12/2007, -3/+44Just a note, the Nazis had a gun that shot around corners back in WWII.
...not that it helped them much - falloutsyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37The 80's music is appreciated. The military won't impliment this for another 5-10 years. We're now making the shift to SCAR weapons, this is ofcourse nearly 40 years after the implementation of the M-16 (AR 15 class rifles). It's good though, I'd like to see it in a game one day.
- gamabunta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32The gun the Nazi's used back in WWII was just a standard issue with a bent barrel. As a result, the round would break apart while traveling through the bent barrel, causing a shotgun spray effect when the round finally exited.
The only downside to this gun was that since the barrel was bent you were pretty much SOL if you had someone right in front of you. - TheZin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+31Think of all the donuts the police won't have to search for under the couch.
- deanlowe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Arms makers using YouTube to market weapons?
- Odweaver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25The military will never impliment it, simply because it is impractical, soldiers are better off having a rifle, and knowing how to go around corner's correctly. Last I heard of this it weighed 15 pounds without either a pistol or 40mm launcher attached.
- PuyoDead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25What happened to gold ol' fashioned gum on the end of a knife with a small mirror stuck on?
- mc7winkie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26Why does this make me think of all the Chuck Norris Delta Force movies?
- consoneo, on 10/12/2007, -8/+30This weapon, in a real wartime conflict, will most likely cause more casualties than it spares. It gives away your position, and gives the enemy maneuverability.
The way we do it now is to rush in and surprise them, causing them to take cover while we blast their cover and, therefore, them.
This weapon allows the enemy to shoot through walls and hit you. Bullets do go through walls... even though it seems like cheating in CS, it's more realistic than you might think. - jefffm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Yeah and super soaker made an almost identical product in the mid 90s.
Personally, I liked the super soaker better. - GamingTrend, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22Not true on the implimentation - this is already in use by the Israeli army. Saw it on Futureweapons.
- Burns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Imagin if both sides where armed with this gun. It would be a slow slow war.
- graystar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Here is something from WW1 by Anzac soldier. It shoots around corners, from the perspective of the bottom of the trench

- fo0L, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Hahe that 80's music had me sold!
- jgreene777, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18the culture of digg allows reposts and most users have no problem with it.
- eigh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13i definately need something that holds like an assault riffle but has the clip size, power and accuracy of a pistol.
i also dugg this because of the nerf patent infringement going on. - VPurpmalkV, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17Unless you're an Israeli. You Tax money didn't go to this.
- elitexero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12It's not a gun, it's a holsting type container that pulls the trigger.
That looked like a cheap infomercial. - Archon810, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16If I see a big scary mother ***** running at me, I grab the gun and start shooting the hell out of it.
So how many times will this be the reason of allied casualties due to a surprize enemy attack and soldiers forgetting that their guns are folded at 90 degrees.
Impractical. - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13"Watch the video before you post. The gun bends, not the bullets. Velocity is not effected."
He was talking about the post above his in which the bullet stops in mid air. - pegisys, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11"This weapon, in a real wartime conflict..."
I would think something like this would be best used for stealth missions
a gun like that would be useful to S.W.A.T and people like Sam Fisher :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16Wow that gun looks gay.
- toosas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10we had this joke from wwi here about a jew going to war and asking for a bent rifle to shoot from around the corner.. and there you go. no more jokes
- Scooley01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Newsflash: That's less weight than this thing...It's got a monitor on it as well! Taking out all the moving parts is going to take off some weight, so it'd damn well weigh less than this idiotic hunk.
- Scooley01, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11That's a pretty lame gun. Seriously, it's entirely unnecessary. If you REALLY need to shoot around the corner, just a pinhead camera on the end of the barrel, and have it go to a monitor on the other side of the corner. No need to make some special folding transformer-eque gun.
- consoneo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9apotropaic sorry to burst your bubble, but the reason the US doesn't develop those is because it's not wholly practical.
- ralfyx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7What if the battery dies ? :|
- DPyro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The video looked like it was put together by CZ addicts. Seriously, "Go, go, go!"? And the pillar-hopping was reminiscent of Stargate.
Yes, I would love this gun, you know, because pistols can cut through body armor SOO easily... - electromagnetic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I was waiting for the same thing, like the machine gun thing from the fifth element not something that looks like it was bought at a toys-r-us. The video looking like it was made in the 1970's didn't help it much in my books either.
Also did anyone notice that the situations it was used in weren't very helpful, they'd climbed up a ladder and was looking around through a trapdoor but it doesn't help the problem of having someone you can't see throwing a grenade at you to turn you into finely cut tuna in tomato sauce. Or that if you're so busy looking around a corner you might not notice a guy counting to three with a grenade to pelt it directly at you. Not to mention it only held a pistol, which isn't exactly useful against anyone with armour, so supposing the enemy was actually armoured (like the targets were designed as in the video) you would be royally ***** - I mean a pistol vs AK is sure only to end one way, now add kevlar into that and it's certain only to end one way. Excluding MacGyver the person with the toys-r-us equipped pistol are going to die quickly. - YourTechSupport, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You can still shoot.... blindly....
- hollywoodone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Molly what do you want for Christmas?
A new doll.
John what about you?
A new bike.
Matt what about you?
A Corner Shot
It reminds me of a commercial for a toy. - wtfhacksDan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6whats next, wall hacks? =D
- siestaguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The best part was at the end with the camel, dog, and other assorted animals, so of which were chasing after the soldiers.
- freonchill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5not even 90 degrees !?
- jgreene777, on 10/12/2007, -9/+14um... yeah... i have a feeling they would lose quite a bit of that all-important velocity to make the turn. unless the bullet was "bending" like a soccer ball does.
- 500freestyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Are you joking? I definitely don't trust a guy shooting through a around the corner through video camera to hit the bad guys and not the good.
- bocaJWho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I had a super soaker that would do that too.
- ndonohue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4yeah the ghost recon gun would probably be more useful, as you wouldn't have to ***** it every time you wanted to do the corner thing and you wouldn't be limited to just a pistol
- MephistoX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This was featured on FutureTech on the Discovery channel at the beginning of the month, I believe.
- clevernickname, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is just a device that holds the real gun (a pistol) in the front of the device. Consequently, the operator is pulling a trigger which activates a mechanism which pulls the trigger on the real gun, which means the trigger pull probably blows.
Also, this device makes the firearm rifle-sized while only providing the inferior ballistics of a pistol. It doesn't seem like a worthwhile trade off to me. - B4202, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4World needs more guns,.....more guns, more guns.....
- snaztacular, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yea, had one of the Nerf ones as a kid:

Israel sould have gone with the shiny reflective sticker on theirs instead of the LCD! - airmann90, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4That picture almost makes it look like the recoil would make it smack you in the face...
- Skeuomorph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thank you -- glad someone in this thread noticed that.
The video shows them taking a pistol (sometimes with silencer) and putting the pistol in this bendy bracket. It's not a gun, it's a mechanical hand with a video cam and LCD. - KiTchMe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And then the sudden camera focus on that dude saying "go, go, go, go"; this and the music, it's actually funny...not to say shoddy
- Lumbeekid06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3they should have a button showin your lame...
