THE UN-COMFORT ZONE
johnny2k.com — This is probably the perfect piece to read for us "starving artists"! A friend of mine had written this today, for somebody else. However, I saw that it applied to my life - my SPIRITUAL life! I would have to ask how far I go in believing that God gave me abilities that I can use for Him, for His purposes; is there a point that I give up? No!

- johnny2k, on 07/26/2008, -1/+10Do you know that this column helped me to not worry about the audacity of my hope? Do I really have the audacity to believe that God gave me abilities, and that I am to use them, and not give up my dreams? Or actually, on His dreams? That truly would be audacity!
- alanhlake, on 07/26/2008, -2/+8What I find amazing about my Lord is that He seems to delight in using the unqualified to accomplish His ends. "God is not as much interested in your ability, as in your availability."
And speaking about moving out of one's comfort zone: My blood runs red, white and blue. I'm an American who truly loves the America that our Founding Creationists gave us. So, where did He decide to move me? To a place where many people don't speak my language (English) and where this educated man is illiterate. I live in central Finland. How did I end up here? I've written about it on my blog. It's the chapter "He Restoreth My Soul." in Hand In Hand With My Heavenly Father. Read it, be blessed. May you be drawn closer to Him through it.

I, too, have found myself in strange places on life's journey...and often felt "unqualified!" I appreciate your thoughts! I pray every blessing for your marriage--a picture of Yeshua and His bride--may it always be fulfilling and beautiful as it is now!
- alanhlake, on 07/26/2008, -2/+4Fulfilling and beautiful for going on 2 1/2 years, but who's counting? :-)

- KJeffV, on 07/26/2008, -1/+6God doesn't necessarily call the equipped, but He does equip the called . . . like everything else He does that we know about, seemingly paradoxical—but a perfect plan nonetheless.
- KJeffV, on 07/26/2008, -0/+5I realize we discussed this issue at length elsewhere, but I was struck by the obvious when I clicked on a "# diggs" and found a minus one on every comment. Hmph. Someone—who was genuinely interested in the Kubicek/Janeway msg, no doubt—went thru the entire comment section and "Dugg" ea comment down . . . having actually read ea one as well as the art, I'm certain. Can you imagine having such a meaningful life that this kind of project occupies your Saturday? God bless you, Sir, whoever you are: You definitely need it!
