- pwarnock, on 11/12/2009, -0/+16I feel I have to agree.
- adeadmantalking, on 11/12/2009, -0/+12I prefer "I think," "I believe," and "it seems to me" when making subjective statements.
- getjustin, on 11/13/2009, -0/+11I was always told when you're writing an essay you never use "I feel." Hell, never you I. State something as fact, and qualify it if necessary, but have a command of what you say, not this wishy washy crap.
- TrevorBelmont, on 11/13/2009, -0/+7These comments are gonna get annoying quickly.
- rocknog, on 11/13/2009, -2/+9Bull-*****-*****. "I feel..." is the battle cry of the right wing fundamentalist religious wackos. They routinely reject scientific research and reality because it doesn't seem to match up with what their worldview. You have an entire class of people here who are guided by their inner intuition, not facts. Intellectualism is frowned upon by these nuts, because they believe their gut instinct is always right and that thinking gets in the way.
- ryanonfire, on 11/13/2009, -0/+6I feel you may be right. Am I doing it right?
- MikeWanDo, on 11/13/2009, -1/+6Okay, so which part of this was a study?
- daleok, on 11/13/2009, -0/+5All this concern about using the phrase "I feel"? What about the extraordinary use of the word "like". It seems as if everyone uses this word continuously to describe everything. I highly doubt that people have no idea how ridiculous they sound when every other word used in a comment or conversation is "like". And it is annoying as hell.
- arthursk, on 11/13/2009, -0/+5My girlfriend says this every two minutes and it drives me nuts, I'll make sure she reads this.
- richardweaver, on 11/12/2009, -1/+5I feel this article is true.
- mahler, on 11/13/2009, -0/+4Hmm, I'm trying to choose between the following statements:
- I don't (feel that I should) agree!
- That's not correct!
Which would be more accurate?
Using "I feel" makes a distinction between emotion and logic on an mathematical basic.... If you are not able to backup your claims, you are talking about a feeling. And because you can only be an expert on a few subjects, all the rest requires you to acknowledge that. - abstracthuman, on 11/13/2009, -0/+4I can feel the felt, and it feels fuzzy.
- thecoolestguy, on 11/13/2009, -0/+4I feel therefore I am

I feel that some crazy internet meme would be better filler than this crappy illogical comment.
- richardweaver, on 11/13/2009, -0/+3You're completely missing the point. This is satire. (If you must know from the Latin Satura, ae). That's just the point: there isn't a study.
- zunipus, on 11/13/2009, -0/+3I believe it was slimy of the author to slip in the Biden = loony non sequitur. Otherwise, I feel like falling asleep.

- Jonjonr6, on 11/13/2009, -0/+2OK, how about "we feel"
- arthursk, on 11/13/2009, -0/+2"use of the word "like". It seems as if everyone"
We all know know you typed out "like" and replaced it with as if. - hallisna, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1I feel that this guy's comment sums it up best:
I usually deploy "I feel" when I mean "you're wrong as hell, but I'm not going to argue with you about it." It's routine not because it defends you from criticism, but because it blunts the sting of your criticism of others (others who, if you haven't noticed, are apt to get defensive and irrational when their ideas come under direct attack). And unlike some other forms of blunting, "I feel" doesn't do anything to the substance of your argument - just because you feel it doesn't mean your objection isn't logically solid and unimpeachably correct. - Ben1220, on 11/23/2009, -0/+1I prefer not to make subjective statements :P
It can really confuse people when I answer "I don't know" to a question every single time that is true. Imagine, only answering a question if you "know" the answer objectively... - JediPilot, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1Hmm, I don't like when people say "I don't believe in X." As in, I don't believe in divorce or something. It makes it seem likes it's some form super-opinion that mustn't be challenged or something. Artificially inflating what amounts to an idea to a higher status.
But when people go the other way, like "I believe John is in the bathroom," it doesn't have the same punch. Or "I believe taxes are too high." Not quite the same effect. - BossKey, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1I am so sick of people saying "It seems as if..."
- jman491, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1I feel so mad
I feel so angry
I feel so callous
So lost, confused, again
I feel so cheap
