- domfosnz, on 04/18/2008, -2/+6Is this really news?
- whoreable, on 04/19/2008, -1/+1Who didn't sell drugs in college is a better question.
- thechr0nic, on 04/18/2008, -2/+13people will buy and sell drugs regardless of them being legal or not. If there is a market, which there clearly is, then someone will supply the market. The harder it is to get something you want, the more expensive it will be (supply and demand). Since drugs are cheap to produce and HIGHLY profitable due to supply and demand, there will ALWAYS be someone willing to take the risk to supply the market. The war on drugs has been an absolute failure at every single level.
people get upset when a drug lord or a gangster makes profit, but when someone takes the profit and puts it to a good use like a college education, im going to be honest here and say, I really am not that upset. The profits could have been used to buy automatic weapons, instead, it went to buy school books /shrug.
all you drug war loving people can feel free to digg me down. - MakiMaki, on 04/18/2008, -2/+1It sounds like an excuse more than anything... but if he really did it just for college, it's a little sad to have 'arrested selling heroin' on your record.
- quaxon, on 04/18/2008, -1/+8It's sad that we live in a country where education costs an arm and a leg. It is almost impossible to go through college without racking up hundreds of thousands worth of loans or working two full time jobs while going to school full time, forcing some to either sell drugs and women to become prostitutes. Most other westernized countries not only offer free post-high school education, but also pay for your room as well as give you money, a place to stay and everything youd need if you wanna go study abroad for a year or two. I hate that i live in a country that puts profit over everything else, mainly education and the well being of its citizens. But then again, for a real democracy to work you need an educated populace and by charging so much you can make sure no poor or even middle class people get a higher education and will continue to vote based on whatever the MSM tells them is right. Keep the population stupid and you can exploit and steal from them with their complete consent by packaging it as "oh this is for your own good, trust us, were the ones that brought you all this great stuff you love to consume so much..." America is no place to raise a child any more.
- blapierre, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Hundreds of thousands worth of loans? I attended a UC school, one of the top universities in the world, and it only cost about $7,500/year for tuition.
Sure if you want to goto an Ivy League for undergraduate and for law school you will be paying hundreds of thousands (assuming you get no scholarships/grants), but your education won't be any better than you could have got at a public university at a fraction of the cost.

- svtspeed, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1Yes. It is a ***** situation in this country right now for many people but sometimes you have to ask yourself "Do the ends justify the means?" Otherwise your no better than Dick Cheney.
- voxtarri, on 04/18/2008, -3/+1This article opened my mind! People sell drugs in order to pay for things! WOW! Incredible discovery!
