Socrates Didn't Know Much, Nor Do Our Teens
eioba.com — Socrates didn't really know all that much. If he did, he wouldn't have spent his entire adult life asking all those questions. He was interested in developing the ability to think in his students, something that many schools avoid today.

As a teacher, I can thoroughly agree with the article's commentary. We need thinkers--they solve problems, invent, and make the world a better place! As a parent I am careful not to over-pack my children's schedule, leaving lots of time for creativity and thinking... - izackcarson, on 03/31/2008, -1/+1School is not for teaching analysis and how to think through an issue.
