i tried this tutorial and it repaired the CD!!!!!!!!!!
it works perfect except that my microwave didn't have the "REPAIR CD" button so i press Defrost one instead and it work!! - PRlME, on 11/14/2007, -2/+269I did it and my HALO2 cd turned into HALO3!
- heepajunk, on 11/14/2007, -14/+275wtf it didn't work
- Hanniballo, on 11/14/2007, -4/+201So thats what the "repair CD" button on my microwave is for!
- soccerman90, on 11/14/2007, -4/+181Beef erases data on CD's
You learn something new everyday - nooreazy, on 11/14/2007, -10/+168What brand is that paper towel ?!!!
- KrayzieKyd, on 11/14/2007, -3/+145I used those instructions on my Spider-Man 3 DVD and it even removed that horrible emo sub-plot!
- Xonay, on 11/04/2007, -7/+109I tried it with my new Leopard DVD before install. It made my Mac 10 times faster! Try it!
- slashbot, on 11/04/2007, -6/+99Awesome!
I suggest you all try this on your most important data now. The effect is surely stunning - slashbot, on 11/04/2007, -1/+80Try sticking it in again, but upside down.
That will reverse the polarity and zap it back to good-as-new. - demodawid, on 11/05/2007, -3/+70Mine turned into Atari 2600's E.T.
Must have done something wrong. - mikezs, on 11/05/2007, -4/+68Don't listen to this guy, defrost might break your CD's!!!!!
Full power is what's needed to create the repair plasma the microwave oven creates - kdoig, on 11/04/2007, -4/+68guys this didnt work, it made my cd way worse. i only left it in the microwave for like 20 seconds though. and didnt let the ingredients sit for 11.5 hours, only like an hour...still...that should have been long enough to make it a bit better?? Anyone else have problems with this?
- rebelcommander, on 11/04/2007, -6/+66This also seems to work wonders on damaged hard drives, although, due to the heavy metal shielding, you'll want to run the microwave on extra high for as long as you can set it!
- pintomp3, on 11/04/2007, -2/+57and for dvds just replace the pickle with a slice of watermelon.
- Tomboys, on 11/11/2007, -18/+69The marshmallow hamburger was a perfect extra to something already funny!
- ArmyOfFun, on 11/04/2007, -1/+49For best results, stick clothespins into the door latches so you can run the microwave with the door open. The extra airflow helps immensely. It helps cook food faster too.
- whataboutdave, on 11/02/2007, -2/+48The sparks are how you know it's working.
- xkorbin, on 11/04/2007, -2/+42Make sure your flux capacitor is working.
- loveddevol, on 11/04/2007, -3/+43seriously,
after watching it, that's some damn tough paper. - inactive, on 11/04/2007, -9/+49Lets put vista in the microwave and see if it "fixes" it
- nnnr, on 11/04/2007, -5/+40Brb, going to try it.
- foxymcfox, on 11/04/2007, -1/+35Don't be ridiculous. Beef alone does nothing, but when it is harnessed in hamburger form, that's when things get serious.
- smartalecks, on 11/04/2007, -1/+34try seafood products, such as octopus tentacles, instead. I find that the natural suction helps to 'extract' the data on the cd and bring it to the surface, and the microscopically abrasive salt water helps to give it a nice polish (this is what the pickle does as well, except on a smaller scale!)!
- alive1, on 11/04/2007, -4/+34I'm really out of words.
No really, I am. I've tried writing about twenty different things as a reply to you, but none of them can describe the feeling I had when I actually came to the conclusion that you weren't joking.
Dugg up, just because you're so special. - Twoodge, on 11/07/2007, -4/+31brb new copy of Halo 3.
- witcompe, on 11/04/2007, -1/+26Did you set the microwave to the repair cd setting? If not, then learn to follow instructions! This technique will also get scratches out of an LCD monitor. Go ahead, give it a try.
- aldenhg, on 11/04/2007, -6/+31Great advice! It's almost as good as Infinite Solutions' advice.
- iChainsaw, on 11/08/2007, -3/+26you used a real hamburger didn't you?
- foxymcfox, on 11/04/2007, -2/+23The video or your comment?
- xsni, on 11/04/2007, -4/+25The man on the brawny paper towels had a smirk on his face.... a smirk that can only be the result of taking a crap in the great outdoors.
- OblivionMage, on 11/04/2007, -4/+24lol noob. You usually have to do it twice to really get out the bad scratches. They just don't tell you in the actual video, but in the notes they do.
- mattmy, on 11/04/2007, -3/+23brawny god havnt you seen the commercials
- ph3rny, on 11/04/2007, -1/+20well i want my approximately 11.5 hours back
- natedouglas, on 11/04/2007, -1/+20Hamburgers: Harnessing the Energy of Beef.
I think I just found a new title for my blog.
(I don't actually have a blog, I just use Digg to post random ***** no one else cares about) - inactive, on 11/08/2007, -1/+20You posted 8 hours ago, so you obviously didn't wait the full 11.5 hours... that is your problem. Mine is still soaking with the egg/ice cream/syrup, it should be ready tomorrow morning. I had to go out and pick up sliced pickles though, I only had whole ones.
- saleem, on 11/05/2007, -6/+24i feel like gagfilms.com wont be SFW lol
- woofers07, on 11/04/2007, -1/+18im gonna try to repair my hard drive using this technique... Ill keep you posted.
- clothmonkey, on 11/04/2007, -2/+18This is a parody of all the faked videos that have been circulating lately.
- Patogrande, on 11/01/2007, -2/+17I did this too on my import of Ico. Never played better.
- Jholder112233, on 11/04/2007, -1/+15Its always about the pickle with you isn't it.
- la7crosse11, on 11/04/2007, -1/+15what if I don't like pickles though? Do I have to eat it for it to work?
- wang1011, on 11/04/2007, -4/+17Thank god I saved the pickle, I really needed something to eat after all that
- wiifm69, on 11/04/2007, -3/+16Did you eat the gerkin?
- MrSlumberjack, on 11/03/2007, -4/+17Jesus ***** christ, THIS IS A LIFESAVER!!!
- daEvan, on 11/05/2007, -2/+14Fail.
- CCoe, on 11/02/2007, -1/+13You obviously didn't leave the ingredients on the disc for 11 1/2 hours. Try it again, but this time let it soak in.
- SOhp101, on 11/04/2007, -2/+14CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU'VE DONE EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET!
- baloodh2000, on 11/01/2007, -1/+12not sure on this one...would a regular marshmallow work...I mean come on we are in the field here, we have to use what we have!
- themastersb, on 11/02/2007, -0/+11I think I did something wrong. My disk is still in pretty bad shape. Anyways I think some cd repair stuff from the store is less expensive than all that.
