    Anyway, regardless of what you think about the Harry Potter books, the series has gotten more kids (and plenty of adults too) to willingly crack open a book and use their imaginations instead of watching TV, which is a good thing. I can't think of any other book in recent history that has had such a big impact.

    I will admit though, all the tiny little redneck low-population towns ARE backwards, but not Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Not to mention they all voted Democratic in the recent election.

    You know, say what you want about someone spending that amount of money on a harry potter book. It's still exemplifies a far better aspect of humanity than a lot of what we see on a daily basis.
