- iCallShotgun, on 10/28/2007, -6/+88I honestly wish i could digg this twice.
- KeyLimePie, on 10/10/2007, -2/+67This was nice and all but I really wish the title and description actually did tell us what this was about.
- FoxOrian, on 10/10/2007, -3/+58That is pretty intense when you consider how most of us could easily afford to send a family something that to them seems impossible to get.
That really was genuinely nice. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+49Direct link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_am82KhI-c
- SamyIsMyHero, on 10/10/2007, -2/+42This video deserves words! I would not have watched this video if I was not as relaxed as I am now. I am surely glad I have watched this, but it was a close call and if this video had a title I would have watched it no matter my mood.
- sockpuppets, on 10/10/2007, -3/+36Mine was returned to sender. It's sitting here now nibbling on my xbox.
- joemofo214, on 10/10/2007, -7/+36its nice to see that there is people out there, and, as little as giving one water buffalo to a poor family may seem to some, it made a big impact on 4 generations of family. as corny as it may seem, this guy gave 2 gifts, one to that family, and one to all of us, with that video. Dugg
- TalkingBanana, on 10/10/2007, -3/+29Deservedly Dugg
- rickpdx, on 10/10/2007, -5/+30Great thing to do, but the bigger background issue is, why isn't China, the socialist workers' paradise, providing water buffalos (and all basic necessities) to its citizens. China is no longer a poor country but its government is chasing after capitalism without ensuring that all its citizens have healthcare, food and work. From the many, for the few, it would seem.
- dbhaley, on 10/10/2007, -5/+29Title and description could use some work, but WOW, what a great video!!! And a great cover of an appropriate song.
- CraigJ, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23Just don't show PETA...
- goodnewsevery1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19Kenomo said "no difference in the grand scheme of things."
Tell that to the family that got the water buffalo. - FreakyD, on 10/10/2007, -4/+23no words needed? that was 8 minutes of alot of words...... Kinda as ironic as the water buffalos name ...little big horn.
- branndon, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19I HATE TITLES LIKE THIS!
- Couchy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+22Great thing to do, but the bigger background issue is, why isn't USA, the capitalist workers' paradise, providing all basic necessities to its citizens. - gavroche, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17There is just too much of people like you
- colto, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13It's name was Little Longhorn but close enough :)
- pimpbot1979, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15This piece moved even my bowels. Words cannot describe the smell in my office.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+16That's the problem with socialism and communism. It doesn't work.
- mapkinase, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14I got cheese all over my face by reading your comment.
- linkbeat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12And so it shall be. Focus on the negative and that's what you'll have more of.
- Hermitwise, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12*ahem* China is a gigantic place with many different areas that have different levels of industrialization...thank you. *bows*
- JeffD, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11I think you ment to say thats the problem with corrupt governments, they dont work.
- TeCuervo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12The video brought a tear to my eye and yet you brought anger to my heart.
- knowyourrights, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Did anyone else feel compelled to buy and give a water buffalo after watching this? The power of microcharities/microloans IMO seem much more effective than getting millions of dollars together and see it get swindled and laundered by corrupt asshats. If we had 250 digg'ers donate a buck we can recreate another one of these videos. Hell, Let's try an experiment; if you're willing to donate a dollar for this cause, digg this up.
- YourSexyMama, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12What do you care? He helped some people in need... what makes any other place a better one than the one he chose?
And to say that he could have done this in the US is crap IMO. America is a place of many opportunities, the only reason people are poor here is because they are too lazy to work for what they want. They think they should be given what they need, rather than work for it. An example is the Hispanic populous in our country is so big because they aren't too proud to work hard, in ***** jobs, for their necessities. Plus they know that America is a much better place to be even if they are getting paid little to no money for what they are doing.
Your statements just blow me away and show the true ignorance that America has breed into a lot of us. - ciaran036, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Even just to watch that, it felt good. Just imagine how you'd feel if you did something like this yourself. This is part of the reason why we give to charity. Society can't work for you unless you contribute too.
- themastersb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10they could pretend to be a prince from China requesting for random people to secure their financial assets and....
- song2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8There are three billion too many poor habitants of this planet
- purplelantern, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9What I am trying to do, is to point out the complete absurdities of the one laptop per child concept. Clearly all the comments here have pointed out, intentionally or not, the money can be put to so much better use for these people. A production means, like a water cow, might not be ground breaking or headline catching. But it is what the poorest people in the world need to *actually* improve their lives.
- badaimer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8How to save a life by The Fray
- ohthehumanity, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8A water buffalo to a US citizen wouldnt do *****, They wouldnt have the land to plow, nor the knowledge to maintint the food after it was salughtered. Teach a homeless person a trade skill if you want to do something for the poor people of the states.
- cptshamrock, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8The reason is because in the "capitalistic paradise" you are responsible for yourself and yourself alone. And that is why it is great.
- merper, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7And I don't think people working for Microsoft in Beijing would really want a water buffalo...
- wpgbrownie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7And for some contrast to this video, I provide this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=konX2e5yJE8 - Felekar, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9A few more words might have helped, at least to draw attention to this, it absolutely deserves it.
Spare a few dollars and make a family in China well off for, very likely, the rest of their lives. - Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7We're too busy comparing ourselves to Chinese serfs. Guess what, we rock!
- MrSidnet, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6At least it wasnt all CAPS, didnt contain the word awesome, Top Ten, or Apple.
- bariswheel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6They don't masturbate to online snowboarding videos all day like you do man, sorry. I think they prefer the water buffalo.

http://jazzviolin.com/ - Roblodocus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8If someone bought a poor family a water buffalo here they'd go through three steps:
1) Show the friends/neighbours the new buffalo
2) Try to ride it
3) Get bored of it and never use it again.
I like these kinda things where a tool would be bought rather than handing money out to the needy directly, it gives the family a sense of dignity knowing they can work for themselves and it gives the person who donated the buffalo peace of mind knowing they they aren't funding an easy life style. - R0CKY, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6http://www.waterbuffalomovie.com/
- eq2s, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This video demonstrates the importance of donating to provide tools, machines and other infrastructure. Donating tonnes of food is helpful in the short term, but to bring more people out of poverty we need to donate towards things such as Water Buffalo that provide long term assistance in helping farmers grow their own food. This increase in production efficiency helps the family and also helps the broader community as they can sell their excess food.
- mrbradg, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6What song is that playing in the background of this film?
- floppyparty, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9I kinda agree. The tone of the movie is a little too self-congratulating for my taste.
- berb, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8You would be very, very hard pressed to find people who work that hard and are still that poor in the USA. The only truly impoverished people in the USA are the disabled (mental illness, physical handicap) and the extremely lazy.
- SakisRakis, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7I think he meant exactly what he said.
- infinity198, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6you know what, if i decided to do this for some family in china, i would be doing it to help them out. and if i get some happiness out of it then good for me, call it selfish if u want but its a good thing to do. i don't think the family that receives it would call it selfish. in fact if you asked that family what they thought of those people who gave the buffalo to them I'm sure they would have a different way of describing it.
- soapycub, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Did anyone else begin thinking at the start of the clip, "Step One: You make your console cost the most..."
- Yelnik, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I honestly wish I could afford to do the same...
