- psevium, on 10/10/2007, -5/+184Well that was surprising
- cbdgr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+102Grant looked disappointed at the end when the chickens head got broken
- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -4/+100She's also smart and likes blowing things...up.
Dugg. - 3toe, on 10/10/2007, -3/+64Mythbusters is so damned awesome.
- Kyle0wnsyou, on 10/10/2007, -2/+59Meh. It's not the same because the bull is still somewhat familiar with his surroundings. Put a bull in a confined space, then we're talking something different.
- redfox2600, on 10/10/2007, -1/+45Cats will run into walls
exhibit A: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN6rBRr2y8A - DevDuck, on 10/10/2007, -1/+38To the people who are taking this segment seriously:
I just saw this episode and they were actually testing whether bulls were attracted by the color red. They're not, it's the movement of the matador's flag.
Since they had a bunch of bulls available they decided to do this as a joke, every episode ends with some destruction and they thought that this would be a perfect "experiment" for that. While I was as surprised by how nimble the bulls could be as the Mythterns were, it was not intended to scientifically prove or disprove some old saying. - greenlight2001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+33Most animals tend to avoid running into things. How many dogs do you see running into trees? Or cats into mailboxes? The bulls aren't as dumb as people make them out to be. They'll avoid running into *any* object that poises no threat. Its normal animal behavior.
- WaterDragon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+32They are just playing along until the time is right...for the animal revolution that is coming.
- greenlight2001, on 10/10/2007, -4/+36http://www.fhmonline.com/articles-1276.asp
- darkyplasma, on 10/10/2007, -5/+35very surprising that would happen...its like a ballet!
- expatcatalyst, on 10/10/2007, -2/+31To a bull those pieces of wood are probably nothing more than a fence and they are smart enough normally not to run into a fence. Fun though!
- Rivetgeek, on 10/10/2007, -1/+29Yeah how many of those nightclub floozies can make thermite?
- zephc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+27Not surprised - my dad has a bison ranch, and despite being large burly beasts, they will carefully avoid all obstacles, and assume they can't get by fencing they could, in reality, easily plow through.
- donkeyshow, on 10/10/2007, -3/+27surprising and disappointing..I really wanted to see a bull smash a bunch of china.
- Chicken2nite, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20I'm guessing the tiled floor would be the contributing factor to carnage. That way the bull would slip around instead of being able to plant his feet securely.
- KyjL, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20I laughed so damn hard at 1:12
Silly, silly Tory - Spartycus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17No, it is because she's a hot girl who, is also a Mythbuster... Which might just be one of the coolest jobs of all time. The combination makes her one of the coolest hot chicks ever.
- macaddct1984, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15It's not nice to beat people, men or women.
- trogdoor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Now they just need to successfully herd cats and my life will be complete.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+16I hate you for ruining that.
- biff198, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12I say Tyrannosaurus Rex...
- Lyght, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15What about a bowl in a china shop?
- wendelgee2, on 10/10/2007, -6/+18Those pictures make her look like Peg Bundy. Blech.
- litkaj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10I'll admit that my girlfriend said basically the same thing, but honestly, I believe you're all missing the point. If you make the aisles narrow then of course they are going to knock them over, they won't have any choice in the matter. The interesting thing about this test is that while yes, the aisles were wider than you would normally find, the bulls went out of their way to avoid knocking them over, even when multiple bulls were introduced.
- themastersb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10I knew most people would be Digging this for her.
- modsuperstar, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13That definitely didn't seem like a very accurate representation of a china shop. If you've ever been in one of those antique places that sells buttloads of china they always have really narrow aisle ways and are about the size of a shoe box. If they actually put a bull in a confined room with lots of shelves and displays all closely packed together there would have been a very different result.
- feebie, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12all china shops are tightly spaced?
- 93ex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8What accent?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10A bit of skin, but a pretty crap shoot.
- knugen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Yeah dude, cats run into stuff all the time.
- redfox2600, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9What baby fat? I don't know about you but I rather not have an anorexic crack whore.
- Hoxie, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9that... was... awesome!
- cappslite, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Sorry to hear about that.
- Cornloaf, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8You mean the episode where they made the mold of her ass for the airplane toilet suction myth? NICE
- drek, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6The same way you put up with whatever annoying accent you happen to have.
- discochew, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Expressions aren't the same as myths. What's next, will the determine if George Bush actually CAN tell his ass from a hole in the ground?
- calvmari, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10Wasn't that a pretty confined space?
- carve, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I think that is sort of the point though. China shops are generally crowded. If a bull needs to get from one side to the other and he doesn't fit quite right, he'll barge on through. Hence the saying- it isn't because bulls dislike pottery.
- 8177, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I'd say given this demonstration the bull would just hang tight.
Even if the bull is pissed the ***** off it doesn't want to hurt itself. - po43292, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4LOL at her head butting the shelf at the end.
- skyfire1, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9Correction.
Mythbusters = Science - mahdaeng, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3That's exactly why I dugg this article!
- Mizzike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3now we'll need to change the phrase to "like a human in a china shop" ... great.
- JeffD, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Yes. All of them.
- olsonea, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3One more attribute you forgot about squid: delicious!
- LegendarySock, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6She "THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAA"ed a shelf. How badass was that?!?!
- Jones82, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Or any crack whore for that matter
- DaleoftheUK, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2This happened in the UK in a china store, the bull did nothing which was very surprising, it went though the whole store and only knocked over one or two pieces.
