yes, a beat that sounds like absolute garbage. - wafflesomd, on 11/27/2007, -0/+24What does he say after he aligns his notes?
BOOTS? - tyywebb, on 11/27/2007, -2/+22Am I the only one that can't comment using Safari 3? (on firefox now)
- RST1123, on 11/27/2007, -2/+21That video was over before it started.
- arcooke, on 11/27/2007, -2/+20Ugh.. stop submitting Sclipo videos already. They never work.. always choppy or refuse to load.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -2/+18You can't make a tutorial if you're a total n00b at it. Anyone who actually uses sequencers & DAWs knows this tutorial is a joke.
- heartcoldfusion, on 11/27/2007, -0/+13Reason 3.0 is always a good bet.
- Godlesswanderer, on 11/27/2007, -0/+13Boose?
- opmike, on 11/27/2007, -0/+12Of all the great Garageband and FL Studio tutorials floating around, why the hell is this one on Digg? Someone sage this *****...
- zioxide, on 11/27/2007, -1/+12well that website ***** sucks. use youtube ffs
- l0tharnt, on 11/27/2007, -2/+12Which version of Fruity Loops do you have? If you have anything less then the studio suite, your going to be limited all over the place. As well make sure your running the latest release, their on v.7 currently.
An alternative though, I'd recommend either Rebirth for starting out or Reason (Propeller head) - dyranios2, on 11/27/2007, -1/+11No I can't either, it just freezes and doesnt pop up after submitting it :(
- Identity4, on 11/27/2007, -0/+9Ive had positive experiences with Ableton Live as a studio sequencer so far. Just moved to it from FL Studio.
- wafflesomd, on 11/27/2007, -1/+7FL Studio.
- Octegon, on 11/27/2007, -2/+8I'm a retard, so this helped
- mesysg, on 11/27/2007, -2/+8I use GarageBand to record all of my tunes, I have always thought of it as a mix between Sony's Acid Pro and Cakewalk's Guitar Tracks.
- Skanadian, on 11/27/2007, -2/+7This is possibly one of the most basic things in existence. Thanks for making a tutorial that was about 5 minutes in which I could have figured out in under a minute.
- l0tharnt, on 11/27/2007, -0/+5Ah yes, I forgot about Ableton, thats an awesome package to use as well. I've a few friends that swear by it. Personally I never got into using it, I've just stuck with Cool Edit and FlStudio.
- pixel4e, on 11/27/2007, -0/+5BOOSE!
- RecoDesign, on 11/27/2007, -3/+8Ableton Live. Nuff Said.
- wafflesomd, on 11/27/2007, -1/+6Good luck finding something that is easy to use like FL.
FL is very powerful, and can be learned by anyone. Try getting some more VST plugins or more samples. And like mentioned before, dont use anything less than the studio version. - neodorian, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4Fruityloops Studio
- gemadouble, on 11/27/2007, -1/+5Garageband = Apple.
- rauz, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4Why not make it Reason 4.0? The new Thor synth is amazing.
- NinjaBoy, on 11/27/2007, -8/+10I wish there was a windows version. I use fruity loops and I don't really like it. Anyone have a good alternative suggestion?
- drinkdrankdrunk, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2he sounds congested
- chkdg8, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2bass!!!!
- Nickbc87, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Garageband is just so much more simple to use for a first-timer like myself. FL Studio and Reason in particular have a steep learning curve for those sucj as myself who are new to music programs. (XP user)
- neodorian, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Fruityloops is great. It's easy to learn the basics and it is really powerful as you learn more tricks. The way it lets you build playlists out of loops is nothing short of genius. Best way I've run across yet to make background music for my videos.
- Veight, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3You'd have to be retarded to need this.
- NikZ, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2A much better beat making tutorial:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7WNk14Wtcg :¬P - SeanStoked, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Well, it may sound like garbage, but I found the tutorial rather helpful, especially the part about alignment.
- pault107, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Umm, there are versions of Logic for Windows users, very powerful versions, just not any new ones after version 5.
- pault107, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2I applaud your honesty.
- iashraf, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1EJAY!!! haha
- zombiedepot, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Reaper
- gregm11, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Not the best tutorial IMO. For one, there's no need to assign each percussion instrument (bass, snare, hihat) to a separate track unless you wanted to mix kits or apply effects to one instrument and not the other.
- pault107, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1I've never used Garageband, but it does look very intuitive for absolute beginners. I doubt it's any good for anyone above that level though.
- pault107, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2I checked his MySpace expecting ***** Garageband music but actually the production values are very high. His music isn't my cup of tea, but he sure isn't using Garageband on those tracks.
- wafflesomd, on 11/27/2007, -1/+1BOOSE!
- jadsn, on 09/16/2008, -0/+0thats a great program to make beats. now he can sell it at http://www.pickabeat.com lmao
- Brodels, on 11/27/2007, -2/+2What, after checking his myspace and the pic on the front page I think I'll give it a miss. http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/1345/myspaceag3.j ...
This one seems a bit more professional, and the host works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LppPU9beif8&feature ... - darlyn, on 11/28/2007, -2/+2What a terrible attempt at spam.
- 1337Caboose, on 11/27/2007, -0/+0It took you three tracks to do that?!?!?
- c0n724ll10n, on 11/27/2007, -0/+0Logic's Ultrabeat is pretty cool.
- ibri, on 11/28/2007, -1/+1I understand the guy sounds like a f'ing retard, but if you've never used audio mixing software before (like most people who would be using GarageBand) then this is a pretty good, simplistic tutorial on how to make a drum kit or beat like he says. You gotta keep the noobs in mind :D
- pixel4e, on 11/27/2007, -3/+2Magix Music Maker is another one.
- Cowfrommars, on 11/28/2007, -2/+2You're obviously not doing it right, Apple the the greatest company in the world.
/s - pault107, on 11/27/2007, -2/+1PEACE!
