- jimmiss, on 10/11/2007, -3/+22How could that not be possible.
- ForebodenOdin, on 10/11/2007, -2/+19Coolios, Bill Nye showed me how to do this when i was 6.

- themastersb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11This feat will save so many lives.
- achillis01, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9I was totally expecting something. What the *****. I thought he was going to balance one on top of the other. I mean, its cool as a gag but don't excite me like that. Next time at least try to balance them on top of each other like the title says! Cheers.
- interiot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9I would expect the top nail to pop up and out, since it's on the short end of 10 levers, all trying to fall due to gravity. But I guess if the nails have a large enough heads, that doesn't happen.
- interiot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Because the thought process for these types of puzzles (things like tavern puzzles) ALWAYS goes:
1. that's totally impossible
2. well, if it is possible, then there must be some unique approach, some unexpected way of thinking about the problem, that will allow you to solve it
With so many nails, I figured the only way was to build some sort of stable configuration, but I was thinking something more along the lines of "build an X, and then lay all the other nails on top". It's sort of cool that that specific configuration is stable, and balances so well. - JudgeDredd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I thought it might at least involve a strong magnet. I guess this would work as a bar trick if you happened to be carrying around a bunch of nails, a block of wood, and a hammer.
- xtmno3, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Lets see him do it with finishing nails.

- nrobmac, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1i agree, themastersb. if this could be taught at an early age, we could save thousands of children from nail-up-the-nose injuries.
- NSXG5, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This is such an old trick. I've known about this for years but no matter who you test they never think it's possible untill you show them.
- 80hd, on 02/10/2009, -0/+1nyagoddit?
- newyawker, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Nice trick. Dugg for being clever.
- nrobmac, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0That's what you did all year?? must be remedial school
- anklshaq2nd, on 12/01/2008, -0/+0The challenge was....how many nails can you balance on the head of one nail vertically stuck in a block of wood. At first 23 was a challenge, then by the end of our time, we were up to 38. Can anyone else beat that? We used 16d 3-1/2" nails
- PaperJesus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0We had to do this in school one year
- Hollyweird, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0FTR, i didn't think it was possible either.

- timberfunk, on 10/11/2007, -15/+3I just watched this vid. Can't believe it's possible but I guess it is.
