- WiseWeasel, on 06/30/2008, -0/+2This is one of the topics many nonreligious people would do well to pay attention to. Deities serve an important role for people as a focal point for gratitude, as something to give thanks to for everything one has blessed with, which is a critical component of happiness. While the need for deities is questionable, it's difficult to argue against the positive psychological effect of recognizing the good things in your life, and being grateful to the universe (or whatever) for the opportunities and advantages you've been given. As religion continues to lose its relevance in modern life, it's important to be careful not to lose the personally and socially beneficial aspects of the spirituality and religion western society is largely founded upon.
- DocKC, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Showing gratitude takes so much more than a "Thank you". True appreciation comes from within and when you truly mean it and feel it, it can definitely have a major positive affect on your life! Great article! Doc KC

I have to stay focus on the little things that i have received in life to keep my feelings about the shoudas, wouldas and couldas of life. It was an awesome article and i sincerely appreciated the sincerity and care for others that was presented.
