How Duct Tape is Made watch!
youtube.com — One of the most ubiquitous and multi-faceted manufactured items known to civilization (not to mention MacGyver), from good NAM member 3M , here is a very entertaining three and a half-minute video of duct tape being made. The narrator alone is worth the price of admission, he's quite a character.
- 1015 diggs
- digg it
- overkil6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+59Red Green - Great show! You may not get it in the States but he is a staple here in the Great White North!
- sdrawkcaB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+36There's certainly no duct tape enthusiast that comes close Red Green, the only man to ever have a tapegasm!
- CamZak, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14It's on PBS, sometimes it's great, but every once in awhile you have a show that makes you want your 30 minutes back.
- womber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+51Remember if the women don't find you handsome they can at least find you handy.
- dwemer, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3It was a great show before it became a formulaic parody of itself. 10 Seasons of it was enough, there was no need for the last 5.
- aviazn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Lol, I dunno about the rest of the US, but here in Minnesota everybody knows Red Green.
- jcembree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Duct Tape- The handyman's secret weapon! -Red Green (btw, we get the show in Kentucky on PBS)
Also, from 3M's website (in 2000): "3M Canada and S & S Productions Inc. have begun a three year agreement that will see Red Green take on the role as the 'Ambassador of Scotch® Duct Tape'". - captinherb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Have you seen his movie? "Duck tape forever". Hysterical.
- iskanderbenamor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2adventures with bill was definitely my favorite skit on the show... hilarious!
- rstarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If your from Maine, not only do you know this man, you quote him. And I agree with everyone that Handyman Corner is easily the best segment. One of my favs was when he made the van a rear steering vehicle. Or when he made a keg run a hose through a freezer so that the beer would come out chilled. Hilarity ensues...
- vivisector, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The best skit ever was the handyman corner where he made a "fancy" mid engine sports car out of a Lincoln. Instead of moving the engine to the middle he just added some plywood and duct tape to the front and added about 10 feet.
- shimaryl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah red green, on public access in PA
- timmage89, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Red Green! Nice! I watch this show all of the time in Minnesota.
- psyops2000, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Duct tape, fixes everything but a broken heart.
- jexdawg, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Duct tape helped me make a bong last night, and fix my lamp. Definitely helpful.
- HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21"Great if you have a fleet of K-cars"
heh.- Barryke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What are K-cars, could someone explain?
- Jonsey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_K_platform
Basically a very common platform many cars were built on. Not known for their quality mind you. - emFi, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Perhaps 'Kei cars' ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kei_car - nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"if I had a million dollars, I'd buy you a K car, a nice "reliant" automobile" -- If I Had A Million Dollars by the Bare Naked Ladies
- Enjoikr3w, on 10/12/2007, -17/+7That guy sounds like he needs to quit smoking.
- canrocks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5umm, hello, that's not his real voice. it's a parody of someone much less famous than him
btw, how in holy hell do people not know about Red Green. He is duct tape is Red Green.
- canrocks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5umm, hello, that's not his real voice. it's a parody of someone much less famous than him
- munkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17That guy is officially my hero.
- wilf_brim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28Duct tape: our equivalent of the force. It has a light side and a dark side and it binds the universe together.
- Barlo_Mung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13WD40 and duct tape are the only tools a man needs. If it's not moving but it should you use WD40. If it's moving but it's not supposed to you use duct tape.

- cclasby, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2is it now a requirement that ALL Digg stories have the word 'ubiquitous' in the description? Holy hell.
- Craig1394, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Good 'Ol Kentucky Chrome!
- edillcyde, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30"thats why balls arent square"... LOL
- spurandthedeb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess." - Red Green
- darklord5907, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That guy's accent was priceless.
- diktator279, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Keep your stick on the ice.
- Namco, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5OOOOHHH CAAAANADAAAAA
- Jolene, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Tell ya one thing. This beer sure sucks."
- steal_apps01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Our home and native land, true patrot love i don't know the words in english.
Go french, I live in Ontario, Lajeunesse for Life!
- vvvv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15"How Duct Tape Is Made" "How Glass Is Made" Damn, YouTube starts taking down copyrighted material and all of a sudden this site turns into an episode of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. Guh
- scottylist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7"I think I gotta get a room here" HAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAA That narrator is the best!
- Ssj6Kirby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Ah, I've been past that factory numerous times. They make post-it notes there too.
Kinda cool seeing it on digg though. - quanta88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I've been to that 3M building in London. It's a factory in a giant park on the north side of London. Didn't get to see the shop floor, but did have a chance to buy a few rolls for pennies at their company store.
- cwalk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just moved to London for school and I was completely unaware of the 3M factory. First London was dugg a couple of weeks ago for being the first city in Ontario to give segways to police / postal workers, and now this. London seems to be more active than I originally thought.
- zephc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The Red Green show is awesome, esp. the Handyman's Corner skits. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=mst3kIsBack has uploaded a bunch - enjoy!
- khag7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i used to watch red green when i was like 14 on PBS. good times. "keep your stick on the ice"
- Sangatious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is that some kind of crazy self operating robot factory? I didnt see anyone else there. Or maybe its a ghost factory where all the workers are ghosts. But heres the burning question: what do you pay a ghost?
- Jolene, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'll take one jumbo roll please...
- steal_apps01, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3"The narrator alone is worth the price of admission, he's quite a character."
Someone's american...
Red Green is on the CBC and the Comedy Network here in Canada, I like the show, the movies he does are good too, if not stupid, but funny all the same. - bigbchew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Admission?
If Red Green was the tour guide for the 3M plant, I'd drive across town right now.
Unfortunately, exaggeration in the summary can sometimes lead to saying something totally wrong. - HansomPete, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ha, I used to be an editor for the redgreen show and had a hand in that video. What a small world. Wonder who posted it, I wasn't really meant for public viewing
- Barlo_Mung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Judging by your name are we to take it that you are not so handy?
- Barlo_Mung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Judging by your name are we to take it that you are not so handy?
- hydrokayak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I live in the US, right near the Canadian Border, so I watch this guy all the time! I grew up on this show... lol...
- NitrousFlare, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Dugg for redneck lumberjacks...
- lastmelon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1loving the redgreen
- Solafa, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Why so many diggs? this guy sucks, my ears hurt after a few secs of listing to him. I would much rather seen something which a bit more info and less lame jokes.
- PapaJones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Red Green is the man, Harold was possibly the funniest sidekick ever, and I must say, I wish I could get the Possum Van!
- eschompthis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1OK that dude needs to seriously stop smoking
- muffins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Red Green was the best show ever.
@eschompthis: Thats not his real voice. He does it for the show. When you go to the recording of the show (I've been many times) he talks normally to the audience. - ChromaBlue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Thats why balls aren't square"
- pippin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Red Green is just a great example of great Canadian television, also got to say Hockey Night In Canada
- schoofman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1simply stunning.
- Barbrady, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"I think I'd rather watch this than The Learning Channel."
- dagreatcow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0if you can't duck it, then ***** it.
