- jlpete9, on 08/31/2008, -2/+72Bah, who bothers wearing that stuff AFTER you get pregnant?
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -2/+53Very interesting. I like when they find things that have been going on forever - then decide that they actually may harm us... Again - very interesting...
- AmyVernon, on 09/01/2008, -4/+37oh, you're one of those, eh?
- lesleye, on 08/31/2008, -3/+34LOL!!! Yeah, perfume, make up? Why bother when you're fat, sick and miserable. Urgh. Even the smell of perfume was enough to make me chuck up. Perhaps it's just nature trying to be kind...
- TheDarkLight1, on 09/01/2008, -2/+32...calls mom...
- caseycoold, on 09/01/2008, -0/+28Yeah, cause we are an infertile population....
- gravis86, on 09/01/2008, -0/+23...from the next room over...
- stephhicks68, on 09/01/2008, -2/+23Give it another 5 years and the medical consensus will be changed again... but I loved so many of the comments. Like, who wears perfume after getting pregnant? What's the point (not to mention the fact that it all of a sudden smells awful... LOL)
- jsdratm, on 09/01/2008, -3/+22The last thing the human race has to worry about right now is infertility, give me a break.
- IKORKYI, on 09/01/2008, -0/+18what doesn't give you cancer or make you infertile these days....now THAT would be an interesting article.
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -3/+21C'mon - Pregnant woman are gorgeous!
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -2/+19Excellent. Ill rub some perfume on my balls everyday now.
- headzoo, on 09/01/2008, -0/+15Like lead paint, asbestos.. and now perfume. Just great.
- AmyVernon, on 09/01/2008, -1/+16only rich people, really, wore perfume. the unwashed masses couldn't afford perfume/cologne.
- jcorn1, on 09/01/2008, -2/+16I actually felt sick when I smelled perfume during my pregnancy, didn't expect that, and quickly discovered how many people wear some sort of perfume, hair spray, etc. Plenty!
- blast_flame, on 09/01/2008, -3/+17The title assumes you'd want a completely useless burden on your time and income.
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -6/+19Does that mean all the people during the middle ages were defected? I mean, people didn't take baths back then and all they did was put perfume and cologne on themselves. Wait nevermind, I think I answered my own question when I said they didn't take baths back then.
- abrasion, on 09/01/2008, -2/+15I guess my mother didn't use it :/ cost my ex and I $160 to fix that 'problem'
Best 160$ we ever spent, we obviously broke up and now we've grown up a lot, I still maintain it was the right move to make for an 18 y/o and 19 y/o to make. (yes, I still speak to my ex, she's got herself a new man and she's happy - she's ready for a family now, 10 years later)
Pro-choice for life, yo! - inactive, on 09/01/2008, -0/+12Quite honestly, I think a little infertility would be good for this generation.
- BobTheChainsaw, on 09/01/2008, -3/+15Wouldn't that be a good thing?
- AmyVernon, on 09/01/2008, -2/+13I so didn't freakin' care what I looked like the summer I was nine months pregnant. And, frankly, it was so hot I didn't particularly want anyone coming within five feet of me.
OK, start the obnoxious comments ... now! - kmand, on 09/01/2008, -0/+11Also, they didn't generally stuff their perfumes with synthetic chemicals.
- wolferz, on 09/01/2008, -1/+12only when it is YOUR pregnant woman
- bushnoh, on 09/01/2008, -0/+10Well that answers all the questions I didn't ask.
- jcorn1, on 09/01/2008, -1/+9I didn't expect it but I couldn't stand the smell of perfume or cologne when I was pregnant. I could eat anything I wanted. Problem was, I couldn't eat hardly anywhere in public because it seemed like everyone was wearing some sort of scent....never realized how many till I was pregnant.
- Ne007, on 09/01/2008, -0/+8No No....I HOPE my mom wore perfume when she was pregnant with me.
Free birth control forever.... - Sterango, on 09/01/2008, -4/+11so im supposed to be worried i may NOT be able to get a girl preggo?
Ummm ok. - blast_flame, on 09/01/2008, -1/+8Why is not having children childish or selfish? Firstly it is not selfish not to have children because one can not be selfish to something that does not exist. If one were to take your logic to its conclusion one would be trying to constantly pop out babies, do you? Instead I will use some of the time and money I save for charity and other nobel endeavours, helping people that are already alive.
Finally it seems to me that the childish option is to have children while the rational choice is to not. Think about it, all a child gives you is "warm fuzzy feeling" while it costs more overpopulation, money from your wallet and your time.

http://www.reason.com/news/show/126855.html - Villagemom, on 09/01/2008, -3/+10My boys are safe, I could not stand the scents of cologne, perfume toothpaste or dish soap.( I forced myself to deal with the toothpaste though..bad breath gagged me too) I never knew all that suffering was such a good thing!!
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -3/+10only if you want brats.
- bitterbug, on 09/01/2008, -0/+7@jcorn1
Imagine having that problem *all* the time.
Perfumes are pure hell for me. Elevators are potential torture devices when you don't know who's going to get on bathed in overpowering chemicals. - riptor666, on 09/01/2008, -1/+8First off women don't need perfume they smell best when their all sweaty anyway ***** perfume.
- ssjdoob, on 09/01/2008, -0/+6The natural health community has been saying this for years.
http://www.naturalnews.com/News_000254_perfume_cos ... - ickybod, on 09/01/2008, -1/+7And this is supposed to be a bad thing?
- WombleSlayer, on 09/01/2008, -1/+7"Scientists have some proof"
They have proof, where's yours for them being *****? Are you telling me that you, a random digg user, knows more about the affect of perfume and scented creams on an unborn fetus over researchers in Edinburgh University? - dazparkour, on 09/01/2008, -0/+5He's breaking out the reason!
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -0/+5Fapping doesn't give cancer?
- schnikies79, on 09/01/2008, -0/+4Hmm, I didn't realize that "natural" chemicals didn't react with your body. Your body is one big chemical reaction (how do you think the body produces heat?). Arsenic is naturally occurring, try that in your cornflakes.
But don't listen to me, I only went past Chem 101 and got a chemistry degree. - xxpor, on 09/01/2008, -0/+4YOU LIED TO ME AGAIN, BONNIE!
- PatoLucas, on 09/01/2008, -1/+5Medical consensus my ass, this is just a "researcher" trying to get air time
- TSK05, on 09/01/2008, -0/+4While arkaycee is right, VinceA is partially right too - correlation isn't equal to causation - confounding variables anyone? How could they possibly avoid the huge amount of other variables here. This is probably they "stressed there was not yet conclusive proof."
- schnikies79, on 09/01/2008, -1/+5Shut up Cosmic.
Not you nor anyone else should be able to say whether or not I have a child. It's a fully personal choice and quite frankly, your opinion doesn't mean jack. Not everyone has to become a parent and there is nothing more selfish than talking someone into having children that doesn't want them.
"Real men" don't get their definition of "real men" from other people. - dullnation, on 09/01/2008, -4/+7"lets go poke your babies head"
- JammoBlammo, on 09/01/2008, -0/+3Me too. I'll work the grill, you bring the brats.
- arkaycee, on 09/01/2008, -1/+4It's Labor Day Monday -- I want brats fersure.
And burgers.
And beer. Lots and lots and lots of beer. - Apocolypse007, on 09/01/2008, -1/+4I did that already. Don't most guys do that?
- dazparkour, on 09/01/2008, -1/+4Your on Digg and you think you look great.
I'll make you a deal, I'll personally round up and educate 10,000 people from Digg if you come up with pictures proving you look great. (Pics or it didn't happen) - schnikies79, on 09/01/2008, -1/+4Umm, no.
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -2/+5More like hope they did wear it. I don't want any crotchfruit.
EVER. - reggplant, on 09/01/2008, -0/+3I think he's just in denial
