Effect of preschool on a child's mathematical skills
arstechnica.com — A study carried out by British researchers finds, unsurprisingly that home and school environments early in life affect a child's ability to understand mathematics at age 10. They found that a quality preschool was the single strongest predictor of a child's "mathematical attainment."
