A short film by one of the best political cartoonists in circulation, Carlos Latuff.

- DrJG, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1The article is certainly very informative.
Couple of points - I suppose the words "Jewish myths" refer to events after crucifixion, when the Roman Empire exiled the Jews that they had ruled, pretty much as the various colonial powers ruled Asia and Africa until recently? So the words myth in the context deny that there was any logic other than arbitrary occupation in creation of Israel. And yet for all these two millennia they have been praying "next year in Jerusalem". History that is carried by word of mouth rather than written in stone is not necessarily myth, in fact the opposite. Humans, not stones, are more important.
The real solution can only be an acceptance of multi ethnic, secular, muti religious nations by everyone around - with a recognition of "the other" and a refraining by all concerned from hurting any innocent people.
This would mean a major change in the point of view of everyone in the - extended - region. As far as we know only Lebanon happens to have that character, with more than one religion.
The world is a spheriod globe, and often opposite experiences and points of view are mistaken for opposition of truth which they are not necessarily so. The opposition of religions makes no sense since it is out of the question that Divine should be less than the planet we live on in any way, and so perhaps the "other" religion merely is looking at another view of the same ultimate Divine. There is much truth in each and that is worth retaining.
Scientists disagree, often very strongly, but they have not been known to go to war to prove who is right - why should anyone do that for a higher concern that must encompass more, not less?
If humanity is willing to put aside the idea that anyone of "another religion" is going to hell and therefore only worth killing and there is no sin involved in that, it would solve a great deal of of problems and the horrors would subside.
If one is convinced one belongs to the better one, look down your nose at others but use civility in all possible affairs of the world, courtesy of behaviour at all times in personal dealiongs, and refrain from violence and falsifications.
That ought to be a good beginning.
