- mojaam, on 11/20/2007, -0/+4At least it's not a bad player like Real. Besides, you can download the .divx player and play it in VLC or your media player...
- JeffD, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1The divx player actually works really well, and this clip non-withstanding, stage6 usually has the highest quality videos of all the video hosting sites.
- SaTaNKiLLeR, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3Full Divx can be found here http://blizzmax.com/2007/11/19/dave-chappelle-insi ...

- ElAssoWipo, on 11/19/2007, -0/+29Sound eventually becomes completely out of sync by the middle of the video. Still a great post though, I watched the whole thing.
- jordanlgta, on 11/20/2007, -1/+3Yeah, this is one of the only long videos I have ever watched on digg.

- 01l0, on 11/19/2007, -6/+4thanks, but too late to save me downloading that POS divx player. Should have read the comments first!
- arcooke, on 11/20/2007, -2/+3What's wrong with the Divx player? Spyware? No. Slow or bloated? No. Lets you watch high quality videos for free? Yeah. If anything I'd say it's a GOOD thing to have installed. Stage6 videos are awesome. I'd watch them over a Google video any day.

- vondrak, on 11/19/2007, -0/+15I saw this on tv and it was a good interview. I like the part where he ask Chappelle about the white man voice. I think it's a fantastic point to make.
In case it wasn't included in this clip, Lipton asked about Chappelle's and other black comedian's impersonation of a white man. Basically they don't use slang and talk very proper, like an anchor man. Lipton then asks, well if you can talk with proper english, why not do it all the time?- elamr, on 11/19/2007, -0/+5"White man voice" vs "Ebonics"
You make yourself a target if you go to the 'hood and talk like Tom Brokaw. And you won't get hired if you are speaking broken english, dropping F & N-bombs on the interviewer's "bitchass". - Ukonu, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3"""well if you can talk with proper english, why not do it all the time?"""
I'm really curious as to what his answer is.
I'm sure there are a lot of Americans who move to England and can talk in a fake British accent. Should they feel it necessary to assimilate and constantly exert the effort necessary to sound "proper" over there?- sweetholymosiah, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1"All black Americans are bi-lingual" is what he says.
- Chirp08, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1He's says it's one of the few things that hasn't changed about him his whole life (talking in ebonics), it's who he is in front of family, friends, etc. Talking proper is necessary in some situation to get certain things accomplished (ex. given was at a meeting of executives about a show).
It's kinda sad in that he knows he has to be fake to fit in with either side, he really doesn't seem to feel that talking in ebonics is really him, its just something he is more comfortable with.
- elamr, on 11/19/2007, -0/+5"White man voice" vs "Ebonics"
- aratto, on 11/19/2007, -0/+11The best episode, in my opinion.
- Dested, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4Really good watch. Im at 50 minutes and the sound is off about 5 seconds...
- froman98, on 11/19/2007, -8/+5I have a conundrum. I want to bury this because I've seen this posted before but I want to digg it because I like Chappelle.
Apparently, he was 4 hours late getting there. Everyone waited and killed time by watching old episodes of the Chappelle Show. He's definitely one comedian that has earned my respect. He'll definitely be a role model to comedians like Richard Pryor was a role model to him. These damn whipper snappers. - dreadful, on 11/19/2007, -1/+9Damn that is old
- def1234, on 11/20/2007, -1/+0yeah isn't this from last year?
- Jagwire2k, on 11/19/2007, -10/+5DIVX Stage6 player is breaking the ***** out of my FireFox
- mrlost117, on 11/20/2007, -1/+1thats been happening to me too
- bariswheel, on 11/19/2007, -1/+16He's the King of Comedy, hands down. I''ll pay my respects to Pryor and Murphy, they did make me laugh. But the truth is, they are not as funny as Dave. Dave makes me laugh uncontrollably.
- DarkSamus, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2later we'll be able to say chappelle was in our time
- Fragalishus, on 11/19/2007, -1/+4To skip the divx media player install in Firefox...Tools > Page info > media tab > embed > copy
Paste the url into VLC player (file > open network stream > http).
Audio does go out of sync, but still worth watching. Chappelle is definitely top 10 all-time funniest humans ever. - MrPowers, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3One of the greatest comedians alive. So down to earth.
- rdeal1, on 11/19/2007, -3/+4my favorite... the mac/pc masterbation clip http://collegepork.com/node/623
- method3, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1No thumbs up for you for not linking straight to youtube... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qu5-mZD7OIc
- helliottlaw, on 11/19/2007, -5/+2The sound delay is actually one of the only viable reasons I could ever come up with for buying something on itunes.
- kernel16, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3This was such an awesome interview. I like that Dave doesn't over expose himself and comes out in doses, but when he does he always comes out strong.
- MacSawD, on 11/19/2007, -0/+10DivX made my screen darker. That scared me.
- baron162, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4I loved this show on Dave Chappelle. Getting to know him on a more personal note and what drives him was really refreshing, I remember the Steven Colbert interview on another show, as well as a Jon Stewart interview.
These interviews give a more three dimensional feel to them, to the person hidden behind all the acting and jokes and so on. - dank123, on 11/19/2007, -7/+2this was over a month ago... hardly newsworthy...
- urbannomad23, on 11/20/2007, -0/+5yes, but not many people around the world get bravo.
bravo to the original poster.
- urbannomad23, on 11/20/2007, -0/+5yes, but not many people around the world get bravo.
- Luthor, on 11/20/2007, -0/+6Really really interesting and I think he said some valid things about Hollywood breeding a sick culture.
- dukeC007, on 11/20/2007, -1/+1in college we discussed the differences in chappelle's comedy vs. that of chris rock, and how each injected social commentary into his bits. on the surface it was always harder to see how chappelle was being progressive, since chris rock would explicitly criticize stereotypical practices of his race whereas chappelle would just work them into his sketches. great to hear his take on his own comedy.
- JackondaRocks, on 11/20/2007, -0/+9TV sucks without you, Dave...
- chicken59, on 11/20/2007, -0/+4it's so fascinating to see him talk about his roots
definitely one of the most influential people of our times - r3negadeX, on 08/11/2008, -9/+3Buried for...
1.)being an old topic
2.)being a duplicate topic
3.)having a ***** ass video format
4.)out of sync audio. c'mon people, why are you digging a video that isn't even functional?- surilamin, on 11/20/2007, -2/+4It's Dave Chappelle you ***** moron, that's why its being dugg.

- CheapDigWannbe, on 11/20/2007, -2/+1"Yeah....I'm gonna install another player to watch a web clip. I think not." It's Divx web player, and if you don't have it... you fail at internets.
- sweetholymosiah, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1this "internets" thing i heard on the old television. is it some actual joke going around
- EnderMB, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1I do like Dave Chappelle, but his comedy had always seemed limited to me (yes, Digg me down again for saying it...), but this interview brought out a completely different side to him. After seeing this it makes me hope he'll get another job in comedy, hopefully something a bit more diverse. Get him and someone like Bill Bailey together and I reckon with their differing brands of comedy they could create an insane show.
- DarkSamus, on 11/20/2007, -1/+1get another job? rofl, he is the god of comedy man, he could literally walk right back in and get more money than ever
- EnderMB, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1I mean as in that he doesn't currently have a job. He should definitely get back in the game, right as people want to see him again. However, seeing his as laid back as he was today, saying how he wanted to teach youth, progress his work into something more than what fame dictates it to be, cross the boundaries of comedy, it all made me feel that if he were to go down the same direction it could all become too destructive for him and wind up with an eventual exit from comedy altogether.
Part of the reason he's spent time away is probably because he wishes to do something totally different. Comedians tend to do that all of the time. The reason I liken him to Bill Bailey is because he is literally a God of comedy, voted one of the best comedians in the world by all, as well as them both having similar opinions on drugs, crime, race, etc. For those who haven't heard of Bill Bailey check out "Part Troll" on YouTube and you'll see how they are completely different, yet alike in many ways. Getting the two of them together would cross more boundaries than simply going back to what made him leave in the first place. If not Bill Bailey then another double act would work well for him.- wutitang, on 11/20/2007, -1/+1Dave does have a job he's back doing stand up, which I've always liked more than his sketches. His sketches are genius and hilarious, but he always seemed so comfortable when he was doing stand up. I think it would be great if he did a comedy with Bill Bailey, but I don't think Dave will ever go back down the same road that almost destroyed him, I think he has proven that.

- burnnation, on 07/27/2008, -0/+3Dave Chappelle is Muslim?
Who would have thought. - YesImRight, on 11/20/2007, -3/+2How can Lipton keep that job? Who is he f%(ยค/#? He is the saddest, lamest, most incompetent person. Tells a lot about how great Chapelle is to me, that I actually watched it ill the end.
- morepunkthanu, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1Dave said some pretty insightful things such as: "I don't want to spend the rest of my life enforcing boundaries" and "The closer I get to the top the worse I feel." Congrats to Dave for knowing when to walk away from the spotlight.
- EnergyFlash, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2That was fantastic. Its quite refreshing to see a guy can be funny, successful and humble at the same time. Thanks for linking.
- Alvantoai, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1Definitely a gem. As stated above, the picture reached upwards of 5 seconds delayed from the sound, but I watched all the way through either way... the only real pitfall of the sound delay was during the few video clips or the Chappelle v. Lipton dance-off.
As everyone has already mentioned, it was a great insight do Dave's perspective and thoughts. It should also be mentioned, that Dave really brought Lipton out of his shell... still highly monotonous but he showed a sense of humor side that at least I hadn't seen out of him before.
A+... I'd dig it twice if I could - jingwei, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1Does anyone have a link to the video that ISN't out of sync?
- NeonElixir, on 11/21/2007, -0/+1That was fantastic. Really. Thanks for sharing.
- lademic, on 01/06/2008, -0/+0The video has been removed. Funniest comedian ever (jisto vote): http://www.jisto.com/?j=ddpei
