Coolest. Boat. Ever. watch!
youtube.com — If Darth Vader had a boat, this would be it. Top Gear checks out the Wallypower 118, a new stealth jet-yacht. It'll cost you $25 million, but that money won't go towards gold chandeliers. Almost everything is carbon fibre!

Keep it out of thunderstorms. Bzt... Bzt... - Molly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Lol i read the first part as "If Darth Vader Were a Boat"
and i was like, Holy crap that is the BEST quote i have EVER read.
but alas upon firther inspection, my dreams are dashed.
...one day........ - zzcain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It was from 2004. Surely they've built something better since then!
- OneTrueDabe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I thought the "Coolest. Boat. Ever" was the Stiletto:

Yes, just like the steel that most large ships are made out of. - theoallardyce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7> "Don't most carbon composites conduct electricity?

Most. Retarded. Comment. Ever. - mfratt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wally's "dhingy" is a 27' boat if i remember right.
The 118 was the Renovato from the movie The Island. - AnalystX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Don't most carbon composites conduct electricity?"
Carbon roving conducts electricity, but carbon composite doesn't due to the epoxy/polyester resin. In other words, no, unless there were very unusual circumstances involving a punctured hull.

- klaarn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8looks really similar to the boat from "the island" with scarlett johansson... "jordan TWOOOOOOO delta!" hehe.
- burntfire, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22I'm pretty sure it is the boat from "The Island".

nope it's hulk hogans boat!- Doubledown, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1That should be a Fark Photoshop Image...
- mrgono3, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Cool but I think this is old.
- kendawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16You THINK it's old? You don't KNOW it's old after hearing him say 2004 in the video?
- skoles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4lol @ "Wallypower". I'm gonna build me a super car and call it the "JohnnyAwesome 442"
That episode was great btw. The boat is just sick.- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Olds beat you to it. The fastest Olds' have been called the 442 since the sixties. 4 barrel, 4 speed, dual exhaust.
- JerodSlay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That clip is from the British TV show Top Gear. They talk about cars and the best part of that clip was cut out. At the end he talks about the car you get into when you get off the boat -- the Puganni Zonda (spelling). It's a multi million dollar super car that is pretty cool. Look for that video clip, it's a lot better that it's intro, this clip.
- LesterKing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This was in that movie The Island with Ewan MacGregor.
Very cool.- Aard88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think he said 14 million pounds. Actually responding to the comment below....
- nodong, on 10/12/2007, -6/+140 million pounds is a lot more than $25 millon. What kind of idiot would buy something like that when you could get a freaking private cruise ship for the same price.
- sprintmarathon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Fourteen sounds like 40 when you're British.
- Avogadro65, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3well that would explain it
- Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -0/+516,800 horsepower and no where to attach a rope for jetskiing? Pffffft please. No deal. :)
- umdigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And why exactly do you need a rope for jet skiing? Do you mean water skiing or wakeboarding perhaps?
And I'm sure they have cleats all over (carbon fibre probably). It'd be sweet to go behind though, I've gone wakeboarding at 50mph, but never 70+. - spartan002117, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I guess you didn't read the the safety warnings about 15-25 tops just like the retards that decided to go 55Mph on the wego kite tube. i went 35 on that tube scared the crap out of me i got a gust and went almost 40 feet in the air. I cant imagine 70 (shivers)
- umdigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Safety warnings are for the weak.

- sembetu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4indulgence, yawn...
- Justavian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You could get a gulfstream jet for that price. Might not be as fun to look at, but it'll get you where you're going a lot faster.
- haastyle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+314million pounds nodong not 40 million
this is from topgear such a good show omgee - josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1If I were that guy, I woulda invited like a whole bunch of Eurasian porn stars to come along and enjoy the boat. YEAHH...
- sprintmarathon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Anybody want to venture a guess at how much she costs to gas up? Probably like $20K a tank.
- omelette, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14If you can afford this boat you can afford the oilfield to fuel it.
- omelette, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14If you can afford this boat you can afford the oilfield to fuel it.
- coolspray, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Actually, this is 2006 :)
- jonathan4465, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Nothing like a nice, practical run-a-bout to get you from point A to point B.
- av4rice, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1...Darth Vader?
- hairyjewels, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice boat, but looks like it could have came from the Street Fighter II movie with Jean Claude Van Dame. I happen to like it, the design, the detail, everything. Only problem I see with it is the price, you could buy a full size yacht minus the speed and lighter material all for the same price if not cheaper! Oh yea! Anybody ever think what the costs would be for maintenance?
- Frezzle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Any one name that tune?
- derning, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Bah. You can't judge the PRICE of something like this by comparing it to a jet or a regular boring old Yacht. Apples and oranges, boys.
This boat is about LUXURY and pure AWESOMECOLOGY. (yeah, it's a word.)
Since my penis is retardedly small, I would totally buy this water spaceship... and strap big cannons to it, and put big exhaust pipes on it, and upgrade the subwoofers, and lower it.
Who do I make the check out to?
- RandomGuySteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Its to have something so mind boggling awesome that celebrities and foriegn kings would pay you to borrow it.
Price stopped being a consideration about 20 million less. It could cost twice that much and still be worth it to the right buyer.

- WolfBoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice boat
I think this was the boat from the movie, The Island, if I'm not mistaken - HsoKinees, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it kinda reminds me of that speedboat(stealth speedboat??) that was on that old tv show with Hulk Hogan.. anyone remember the name of that show?!?! i'd love to watch it again..
nevermind that request.. found the info on IMDB.. it's called Thunder In Paradise.. now.. where can i leech it.. - OneAMCoffee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Kinda old really, don't get me wrong, the boat is awesome! I want a carbon fiber toilet seat! But the boat has been around for a long while now...
- AtomicTheory, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1It is the exact same boat as used in the island.
Old and not news.
no digg- adamsucks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'll tell you what's old news. The 5 other people that pointed out it was the boat from The Island before you. Scroll up buddy.
Thumbs down for you.

- rocketryguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Don't most carbon composites conduct electricity?"
Actually, not very well, hence the problem. A steel ship conducts it real well, so it's actually a good thing, as as long as it's grounding out into the ocean through the boat, it's not doing it through you (maybe). Also, it might fry your electronics and so forth, it doesn't cause the structure to explode. Get hot, maybe even locally melt, OK, but not huge gaping holes. The resistance to the current is what causes the heat, so steel isn't bad.
With carbon fiber, which is pretty damn resistant, the structure can physically explode and/or become structurally unsound. Hope that doesn't happen at the waterline... But then, they've probably grounded it with conductive elements, which isn't too hard to do for a boat. You can weave them right into the CF cloth.
We're now seeing the same thing happen in fiberglass/CF airplanes, which is probably a more critical issue, gravity being a harsh mistress and all... - pcheaven2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pffft 14 or 40 million pounds are both cheap.....Ill take two of them, throw quad turbos on each turbine engine and a set of retractable carbon-fiber hydrofoils and Ill have them bitches doing 150mph. Then Ill become the most infamous drug runner/smuggler in history.
Just imagine the US Coast Guard trying to catch a yacht full of illegal haitians/cocaine that is traveling at 150mph......Oh and I would paint them with e-paint (electronic paint - which is almost fully developed now) so that I could make the entire yacht look like ocean waves and it would be invisible to the naked eye.....- extols, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Slight flaw in your plan there. This is gas-turbine powered so you cant turbocharge it.
- reticular, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the only boat that could live up to a video review with an autechre soundtrack.

i wonder how much it cost for them to rent that boat - f8pc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1If you are wondering how much gas is, for a (bad) comparison, I know someone whose 49' boot costs $1800 per tank to fill up.
Also, this was never on Top Gear. The host (Richard Hammond) does many day time TV shows, too. - Universal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just ordered a Wally 118 WallyPower brochure +DVD from Wally, and it came.

http://www.wally.com/jumpch.asp?idChannel=44&idUser=0&attivo=2-6 - gd007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1looks like james bond could use it!
- Prospero424, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, I read an article on this boat. It's really neat, but its range, because of those turbines, is really, really short. To me, that kind of defeats the purpose of having a luxury yacht in the first place.
But the "fricken sweet" factor is still pretty high. - stangmatt66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1digging for TopGear on digg
