- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+54That was 1:15 of pure, unadulterated entertainment.
- kingfoot, on 10/12/2007, -5/+58i bet shortly, it will fly into a bucket of white paint.
- ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -5/+46I could have done without 60% of the video being the hippie lady dancing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30Nobody cares about your crappy blog
- Innagadadavida, on 10/12/2007, -7/+34@mem2
You suck. - Kamael, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28It looks like a toy.
A fscking cool toy, though. - silvaran, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28Dugg. Not for the bird, but for the lady impersonating the bird impersonating a pop singer :).
- illegalchuck, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28The bird was a lot cooler than that freaky woman.....
- zzz@tkz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23It's real, and you're being a retard.
- masterc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20That bird is pretty cool, but the Lyrebird is even cooler ;-)

"that lady needs to shut the ***** up and sit down"
umm no she doesn't, she happens to be the commentator. if she didn't say anything i wouldn't know what the hell was going on with that bird. if you don't want to hear her then simply stop the video and close the window. you need the SHUT THE ***** UP AND UNREGISTER YOURSELF FROM DIGG and then you can sit down. awesome video by the way. - unloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17That bird does the moonwwalk better than Michael.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16a longer and higher quality version of this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2Bsu4z9Y3k - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Personally i am amazed that bird has even heard of Michael Jackson.
- bravecoward, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Damn, even a bird can do the moon walk better than me.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Look, that bird didn't get to have a real chickhood. Is it so wrong to try and recapture that?
- Livewire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10yea same here. heres the lyrebird he's talking about:
http://digg.com/general_sciences/The_Most_Amazing_Birdsong_Ever_(VIDEO) - boomerxl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Perfect fund raising material for enviromental groups. Help us save the Moonwalking bird. Now if only they could find a lizard that does the macarena.
- joebus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I hate when people underestimate nature.
- devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Ha! That's badass.
I didn't have the sound on so I don't know if she ID'ed it, but it seems like maybe its one of these many "Birds of Paradise" which, having few predators, have spent their millions of years devising ever more complicated mating dances. You can probably see more of them in the BBC's "Life of Birds" and definitely in their new series "Planet Earth" in the first episode. - madprof, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The lyrebird is awesome! It may not have the dance moves but it sure has the voice. Maybe they should do a music video together! :-)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12I bet this bird likes his jesus-seeds
- mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6somebody get this bird some parachute pants.
- jamdice, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7...But it was a forbidden love. She couldn't fly, it couldn't dance.
- pritykin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6not so much a moonwalk as MC Hammers "Stop! Hammer time!"
- StuGazzO, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I *****' knew it! Michael Jackson rips off all his moves from the animal kingdom. Now all we need to find is the baboon that grabs his crotch, thrusts his pelvis, spins and finishes on his tippy toes.
- Mongoose, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Yeah, it's real. I saw the PBS thing that this clip is a part of. In fact, my friend's mom was in it. She's the entomologist who goes up in the hot-air balloon.
- bdub92, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5+digg for the ladies sweet moves
- darkinferno9908, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I hope my girlfriend never sees this. It'll be embarrassing if it's proven that a bird can dance better than I can.
- samdu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Totally agree. This bird is cool, but let's hear it mimic a jack hammer and a car alarm. :)
On a side note, as geeky as probably EVERYone on Digg is... we'll never be even remotely as geeky as the chick in this video. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. - jdb252, on 10/12/2007, -18/+20I would like to get that lady liquored up and see what she can do out on the floor.
- rparle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That's easily the best comment I've seen on Digg so far.
- yahootester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i put up a higher quality version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2Bsu4z9Y3k - arcangelgabriel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Bird and girl are cool, 96% of the comments are from asshats though.
- reknaps, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I saw this when it was first shown on TV. I was literally on the floor laughing. One of my best TV viewing moments ever.
Im certainly not suprised its being passed around the tubes. - ubhe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2michael jackson ain't got nothing on those birds, its like they were on a sheet of ice.
- shosterman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1or save you 15% on car insurance.
- jguy584, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is sweet as hell, but I still think the camera shutter/chainsaw/any other noise bird is cooler
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1sweet
- bubba9999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Better not let her see them having sex either.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Just like a raptor, it moves and walks like a bird
even raptor means...bird of prey - aussiebuddha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I actually saw a lyrebird once i went to barrington tops national park camping.
A Friend of mine told me its a "Lier Bird" Ha!
I didnt hear the bird, but if i knew it would do all that I would have followed it for a while! - kottkrig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don't know why, but I just can't stop laughing.
- phenolholic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1this lady did her doctor of philosophy degree in the courtship of a bird. she fashionably dons a PhD and can now call herself "dr bostwick" because she took a camera into the woods and choreographed a bird and its mating routine. her philosophical outlook on life is a result of this bird, and its courtship. as a graduate student in chemical physics, i think this is sad.
- Stri, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I can't stop laughing at how stupid that woman looks :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2here's the contact info from cornell's own website for the hippie chick in the video:
http://www.cumv.cornell.edu/staff/bostwick.html - modian, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1That bird is crazy!
- chopcow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The moonwalking bird was cool. That commentator dance routine looked really lame.
- piratechance, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Concurred, coolest bird ever.
It should get a music video! -
