- wrongbanana, on 10/29/2007, -1/+15wow, i think the music is a bit inappropriate. I live in Pasadena area and yesterday there were ashes falling like a light snow. Today the light casted on everything had an orange hue. Everyone should send their thoughts to all those in my surrounding area who have been evacuated or lost property.

- inactive, on 10/29/2007, -3/+11such inappropriate music.
Love it when kids just take songs they heard once and have no ide awhat t means. - tsaxer, on 10/27/2007, -3/+9That's EXACTLY the comment I was going to make. I can't see any excuse for this choice.
- Rudigity, on 10/26/2007, -1/+6i feel bad for anyone that lives near there. good luck!
- Cannon13, on 10/25/2007, -2/+7Chariots of Fire + 5min.com = WTF‽
- XxIronhidexX, on 10/25/2007, -0/+5I just got a call from my HS earlier, due to the smoke from the fires I have no school for 4 days.
- TeamoSupremo, on 10/26/2007, -1/+5oops...i meant the song
- alski707, on 10/25/2007, -1/+5Or... considering its a yearly occurrence that the more experienced astronauts would certainly have seen before, maybe they just thought "damn its pretty bad this year"
- themastersb, on 10/26/2007, -1/+5Used out of context here.
- kgool, on 10/25/2007, -0/+4Get you to Gitmo!
- Moffermann, on 10/26/2007, -1/+4God speed to the firemen of Southern California. I wish them luck in stopping these horrible fires which have already moved 1 million people out of their homes. And may those families who have already lost their homes be comforted.
- inactive, on 10/25/2007, -0/+3Thank god, the wind direction is towards the sea.
- F1R3DUP, on 10/26/2007, -1/+4Wow, that's shocking. Also, poor taste in music for that video.
- happysushi, on 10/25/2007, -0/+2On Friday the winds are supposed to change and come from the west instead, so it'll be blowing all the smoke back into the LA basin. Yay for us...
- popltree2, on 10/25/2007, -0/+2I am up in Santa Barbara and we are getting ash and an orange hue up here. It's like the Zaca Fire all over again, without the imminent threat of my home being burned to the ground.
- kjcdude, on 10/25/2007, -0/+2the college i attend closed on monday and wednesday due to the fires.
- chaosmachine, on 10/25/2007, -1/+2haha.. chariots.. of.. fire.. hahahaha..
- EmperorAwesome, on 10/25/2007, -1/+2No, I think they understood. That's what makes it so hilariously appropriate.
- inactive, on 10/25/2007, -2/+3Yeah, not a good music selection.
- inactive, on 10/25/2007, -2/+3I would love to shadow you for a day just to see how horrible your life is:
PERSON 1: Hello, what's up?
YOU: Nothing because of that ***** Bush!
Person 2: Do you have any plans for the weekend? YOU: Sure do. I am going to sit home and think about what a ***** ***** Bush is!
Your Boss: Hey, did you get that work done I asked you to do?
YOU: Sorry, I couldn't do it because of ***** BUSH! - Roads01, on 10/25/2007, -1/+2Vangelis inspires all.
- Ruqsaq, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1Did anyone else get the impression of how huge the earth is? I mean you read of a 200,000 acre fire and it looks like a pin prick on the globe.
- bootstrap, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1I also feel bad for the people that suffered losses, cool video though. Also excuse but what? Red Cross accepting donations? for who Mel Gibson needs a new house pfff
- cadethansen, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1yes, that is the true amount of smoke. I live in Falllbrook and it was burned throught the town. when we were outside, everything was brown and dark. when we drove out of town, we said, "wow, its day time". its unbelievebly smokey
- XxIronhidexX, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1San Bernardino here and schools been called off from the ash.
- Teninone, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1There's a good reason for that.. there aren't enough fighters to stop the fire, and it has become mainly an air battle at this point. They are spread too thin, and now - with several major fires still 0% contained - sometimes, due to tough terrain, all they can do is watch it burn. In many cases they are totally helpless against the sheer size of the fires. If the snowstorm of ash falling on my house is any indication of the amount of forest and structures burned, I'd say this disaster is nearly epic. Sometimes nature just has its way.
But deserts burn routinely, and so do houses, when they are built in the middle of deserts.
The firefighters have been wonderful. Some of them have even run into houses to spare family photos from living room walls when it was obvious they could do nothing to actually stop the fire itself. - SiNN4R, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1I thought the last one was bad. Our last fire was considered the priority number one wildfire in the country but this one is far far worse.
- SillyDigger, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1Link from Nasa http://a261.v18566e.c18566.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7 ...
Page http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/highlights/index.ht ... - Official, on 10/25/2007, -0/+0Images from NASA satellites illustrate how quickly wildfires have spread throughout Southern California. Powerful Santa Ana winds have fueled more than 10 large wildfires stretching from Santa Barbara to San Diego. http://news.taume.com/Science/Environment/NASA-Sat ...
- Bartboy919, on 10/25/2007, -1/+1Wow, why is inspirational music playing to Southern California burning? I much prefer this music http://youtube.com/watch?v=GTw4qepN0Ec
P.S. if you sync it just right, the sound goes with the camera changes - puttypatroler, on 10/25/2007, -1/+1Yeah. this song makes way more sense.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43rgB93AvSM - ahoy, on 10/25/2007, -1/+1not to badmouth a brilliant ***** film, but what the *****?
- statch, on 10/25/2007, -0/+0They can't really do much else, till the wind slows down.
- SponSpot, on 10/25/2007, -0/+0It is weird but all of the news footage of the fires have the firefighters standing still watching the blaze.
- BIGJ539, on 10/25/2007, -0/+0wow that is an unreal amount of smoke. godspeed to everyone working to put the fires out.
- Greyhaven7, on 10/27/2007, -2/+2How big is your "carbon footprint" NOW California??? They're going to have to buy a lot of those carbon ticket thingies to make up for this.
- Moffermann, on 10/25/2007, -0/+0I know. While I live in North Dakota now, I was a Ventura County resident my entire life. I can't believe that the evidence they have links all of them to Arson. . it's sick what people will do now a days.
- inactive, on 10/27/2007, -0/+0Terribly! Chariots of Fire? Really?

- frankhardy12, on 11/28/2008, -0/+0Being a teacher brings great responsibility, A surge of self- intrigued filled feeling gushes through me and says that, I am in threshold of creating a new breed of intellectual property and donate to my country.
www.cateachingsolutions.com/cset.html - ilovethewacokid, on 10/25/2007, -1/+0i couldn't actually see the fires when viewed from space, but maybe i wasn't looking in the right direction????
- SiNN4R, on 10/25/2007, -2/+1I think this one is more appropriate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU
- Anonymous20, on 10/25/2007, -1/+0wow, wish you guys all the best and hope you get past this without loosing your homes, and I hope and pray the fire ends soon.
- echolalia, on 10/25/2007, -4/+3I'm assuming because of the name of the song... otherwise it's the absolute worst song choice possible. Well, maybe even still.
- lashover, on 10/26/2007, -4/+2This is truly amazing
- jorgepblank, on 10/26/2007, -5/+2Yeah, chariots of fire.
