BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL! - brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+40Bill Nye the Science Guy was one of the best shows.
- friedcalamari, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37I don't believe in astrology, we capricornians are very skeptics
- raymondmarble, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27A good start. But there are SO many things wrong with astrology that we need Bill Nye in more than a two minute clip to dissect it.
Here's a good article, also with some useful links at the end:
http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc/astrology.html - totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25sarcasm aside, you wouldn't be alone in that thought, sadly. (some 25%-30% of Americans believe in the existence of astrology)
- SirBriggs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25Bill Nye is awesome, always has been.
- affinity, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22BIll Nye just all around kicks ass... the Chuck Norris of science, if you will
- Fractl, on 10/12/2007, -7/+28rhettNYEdotorg
^Proof!
He's AT LEAST you cousin, man. With 'nye' right in the name like that...it's uncanny! He may be your brother or father. I'd look into it!
Crass22, you skeptic... do you even need me to point out the 3 letters in your name? - A2Ska, on 10/12/2007, -10/+25Odd Comment.
- bmonet, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19You are missing two things
1) The first part was correct, but the second part should adhere to the following pattern:
Noun, Verb, Pronoun (stars affect you). It also helps to refrain from definite articles.
2) Soviet Russian jokes are lame - MrRockabilly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Dont feel bad because what you believe in is full of *****. There are plenty of other people like you, just look at scientology.
- wheremyarm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Regardless, astrology is still mythical *****. It might be fun to study in the same way it's fun to study the old religions of Ancient Greece or Egypt, but anyone who takes it seriously is still a loon.
- Technopope, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16But divorced seven weeks later.
- MrRockabilly, on 10/12/2007, -13/+26Bill Nye, the Science Guy

Bill Nye, the Science Guy
Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill
"T-minus seven seconds"
Bill Nye, the Science Guy. - bayblabber, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13"Yes, I'd say that one fourth of Americans are retards!"
"Yeah, at least one fourth." (South Park) - jecobo, on 06/11/2009, -1/+10When and where is this "Eye Of Nye" show on again?
- nixr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9A quick synopsis of Astrology : It's fake.
Tune in next week when I explain dowsing, astral projection, communing with the dead, and reading tea leaves. - aonaran, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9totorototoro, (I like the name by the way :)
I believe in the existance of astrology, I see it in my newspaper all the time. I believe it's bunk, but I do believe it's out there. - dstrube, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I'm definitely sending this to my astrology-believing nutty friends
- Black913Hole, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7no i think hes right with "you affect the stars," because in capitalist america, the stars affect us. according to astrology.
- mofochief, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I want to see Bill Nye face off with that guy from Beakman's World.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I want to see Bill Nye in a steel cage match with Stephen Hawking...
- loculi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Woohoo go Bill! Btw, he just recently got married so is living proof that nerds can score too. :)
- chkltcow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Considering the man designed a device that rides aboard the Mars rovers, and he's the vice president of The Planetary Society.... I THINK he knows what precession is. Being a TV show... he's trying to explain it to the people out there that DON'T know what the term means.
Here's the wikipedia on him with some links if you want to fact check anything.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_nye - Black913Hole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ive only seen it in the Science Channel, which was on like my premium digital cable package. sadly i dont get that anymore...
- steve693, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Is Bill Nye trying out for Penn and Teller's *****?
- captjc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would love to see Bill as a guest on *****! He could singlehandedly take on the wackjobs.
- twister6284, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In Soviet Russia, lame joke calls you.
- FreydNot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It used to be on PBS. I'm not sure if it is still on the air with new episodes.
- jggr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Well said, Internet person of indiscriminate gender!
FYI: I'm stealing that as my own. - Providence, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Do we really need Bill Nye to tell us that Astrology is *****?
- chkltcow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So who was born under the sign of Ophiuchus?
- gush, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Bill Nye is GANGSTA.
- captjc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Great to see Bill still kicking ass.
- magus_melchior, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@CHENEY...:
He also spoke at my brother's Caltech commencement. What was just about as amusing was 3 or 4 guys in a music group (forget what it was called) did the Science Guy theme song just before he took the microphone, a capella. They rearranged the music into beatboxing (McFerrin style) for the most part. - cyan1ide, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1...called "precession of the equinoxes"...not that new really...
- tronian, on 03/09/2008, -1/+0love the show
http://www.faidacai.com - gbv23, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3I agreee with on the Tropical versus Sidereal thing. Don't forget about Vedic astrology which is also a bit different. I actually don't know a darn thing about astology actually nor do I pay much attention to it.
I do feel that it is a useful set of psychological archetypes and a symbolic language (NOT a "science") It belongs with other symbolic langauges such as tarot, cabala, greek & roman myths, magicks and even Jung's archetypes. See also the quadrants and levels of Ken Wilber for why its OK to be subjective. - surlygrad, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I went to school (cornell) with nye's nephew, who was an engineer. People used to make jokes about him going into the "family business."
- jammerb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1What I want to know is why does Dvorak.org/blog have an astrology sidebar... the site is pretty cool, otherwise... (maybe he just wants to see what percentage of his readers click through...)
- happyMac, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0I don't believe in astrology, but I do like Rob Brezney's free will horoscopes:
http://www.freewillastrology.com/ - loculi, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4No! say it ain't so! Ok there goes that theory, thanks for dashing my hopes.
- tdave365, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Most of you are missing the point. There are luddites who rail against personal computers and the Internet and if one of them went on TV and declared the web was bad because it's run by communist gnomes, you'd feel a bit slighted that even the criticism is looney. There are plenty of reasons to maybe criticize the 'net, but I'll be damned if I didn't speak up if one of them turned out to be the looney notion that communist gnomes run the thing. Bill Nye doesn't believe in or like astrology. Big deal, he shouldn't feel free to make up crap about it.
- linuxunixperl, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0What does Bill Nye know anyway? We should go ask the Psychic Friends Network. They're the clear authority.
- DonSchenck, on 10/12/2007, -15/+8Oh boy am I glad!! Up until now, I thought astrology was Real Science!!
