- stevefl209, on 10/18/2007, -0/+15Study Stalingrad
- CatalystGhost, on 10/19/2007, -0/+12Agreed, Stalingrad was a much worse battle on the whole. But most Americans are too stubborn to admit that, because they weren't there. Face it, the Russians fought a bloodier battle :/
- CatalystGhost, on 10/18/2007, -0/+8As a pacifist liberal, I digg things like this up to show the world a) the horrors of war and b) the horrible majesty of our history.
- ButterBuddha, on 10/18/2007, -0/+8I'm burying you for being ignorant.....We elected Eisenhower to end our involvement in the Korea War, then we elected Nixon to pull us out of Vietnam. Eisenhower and Nixon are liberals? Anti ***** War Liberals????
- Xlr8ed, on 10/18/2007, -0/+7What you studied or what you learned from watching Band of Brothers.....
- stevefl209, on 10/17/2007, -0/+6Yep. Just a quick glance at wikipedia stats: Battle of the Bulge combined deaths: 35,000. Battle of Stalingrad combined deaths: 1.5 million. And talk about being surrounded with low supplies, bitter cold, and constant onslaught...just ask the Germans at Stalingrad.
- kjk437, on 10/18/2007, -0/+4Going for BannedThreeTimes, I see?
- Brian43ny, on 10/17/2007, -0/+3It was the biggest land battle for the US during the war but it really pales in comparison to the battles on the eastern front.
- stevefl209, on 10/17/2007, -0/+3OK my mistake, 1.5 million at Stalingrad includes wounded. Bulge killed and wounded: 210,000 high estimate.
- Evildad, on 10/17/2007, -0/+3Nice stuff, very nice. A bookmark for the WW2 buff.
- tgunner, on 10/17/2007, -0/+3My great uncle fought in this battle, and took a couple bullet wounds to the back. Didn't kill him though; he recovered and lived to ~85.
- chitoiup, on 10/18/2007, -0/+2Any specific reason why this thing is DivX?
- TDot1980, on 10/17/2007, -0/+2lol i see what you did there.
- heystoopid, on 10/18/2007, -0/+2Suggest you study the Finnish Winter War of November 30th 1939 until March 15th 1940 with the Russians it was truly brutal no quarter given by either side !
link to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_War - MRAS, on 10/17/2007, -0/+2I first thought this was a new the title of a new TV show like "Fit Club"
Were they get contestants to fight each other in hand to hand combat until they are thin - flowaus, on 10/17/2007, -1/+2So this isn't about Britney?
- digicanmon, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1In before someone makes a bulge joke.
- Eoborges, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1Divx Desktop Dimmer FTW!
- lowsaltchimp, on 10/17/2007, -0/+0Kursk, Okinawa, Soviet Attack into Manchuria... look them up.
- neftaly, on 10/17/2007, -1/+1Pretend its about Macs or Ron Paul or something equally unimportant, you'll survive.
- joegibes, on 10/17/2007, -3/+3Haha... BF1942 FTW.
- etruscan, on 10/17/2007, -4/+3This is old.
- TheBrain21, on 10/17/2007, -1/+0Well, this is more informative than Band of Brothers , but I do prefer BoB on account of it being more involved with the human side of it. Plus there's nothing like seeing a tree explode all over the place. And reading a book tends to get dull, I hate to admit.
- sleuther, on 10/17/2007, -1/+0very cool
- inactive, on 10/17/2007, -2/+0Battle of the Bulge is unwinnable bring the troops home!
- TheOther1, on 10/17/2007, -4/+1Best. Battle. Ever.
- Hamsterpotpies, on 10/17/2007, -6/+2I'm having a battle of a bulge right now.
- tMANwi, on 10/17/2007, -6/+2I love the WWII information, but the site looks like *****. And if you want a truly amazing representation of WWII in a macro view, try watching the Band of Brothers series, or better yet, read the book.
- mattes5, on 10/19/2007, -7/+2The Bulge was probably the worst of the war... imo from what I've studied because of the extreme cold... Very noteable is the 101st who held Bastonge... surrounded... against constant onslaught with little to no resources.
- JoshChan, on 10/18/2007, -8/+1How can it make it to the front page in digg?
- inactive, on 10/18/2007, -23/+1The pacifist liberals will bury this story which is sad.
What is Digg?
