- Pests, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23cheez:
Let me ask you this:
The ones you do see, did you get them from the police or from the person who got away? - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Either that, or he has logged MANY hours of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit!
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22It was worth it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Your driving skill has increased +1.
- Xageroth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Obviously the result of a very good driver who has watched his fair share of police videos. Damn...
- wierdaaron, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Well they caught him, so I wouldn't consider it a "how to". Basically he just knows how to control the wheel during a rear-heavy skid.
- cheez, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13exactly, I don't understand these chases. I have never seen one where the person gets away. no matter how good a driver they are, they always get caught. you run out of gas or do something stupid. not only are the police trained for this, but there are more than one of them and just one of you.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9You're thinking of the kid in the BMW that got away from the cop driving the Camaro.
- wierdaaron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9YOU'RE THE FIRST PERSON ON THIS PAGE TO SAY THAT! CONGRATULATIONS!
- Junel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9This is an excellent video, but REALLY old. First time I saw it my jaw dropped.
- jlebrech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8And to think the spray shop was only 10 metres away, I'm feeling sorry for the guy.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8There is one where a 14 year old kid got away (mentioned below). Only thing is, they picked him up the next day at his house anyway.
- MannyHills, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7In the end of the video (the one posted by TravisG5), the BMW did not break down! If you'll notice, the end shot where they show it slowing down, is a clip from earlier in the chase. The kid was able to get away. This was brought up before, because the show makes it seem like the kid gets caught there so you should never run from the police.
He did get caught the next day because they were able to find out where he lived by the plates I believe, but he did not get caught during the chase. - timo1023, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6NT, man, NT...
- Troopy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Jason Statham the actor? Wtf has he got to do with drivers that getaway in real life?
- Cryptkeeper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6no, he actually was an ex-police officer ;) I saw that on TV.
- TriangleMan82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Funny reaction by the crew in studio when he recovers the first time. High speed chases, the bread and butter of local news channels across the country. and that police chases show on Fox.
- cuoops, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7How many times is this going to be on Digg?
- Chubbly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4And those police cars behind you?
They just going to forget about you? Too much GTA, me thinks... - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yup, clever editing can make you believe almost anything.
- unfinite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@Alyy
I was just about to mention that. The airport would be the best place to go. No matter how good a driver you are, if there's a helicopter following you, you're not getting away. So you should worry about loosing the helicopter before the cops. - imikedaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"I haven't seen it work, but it works every time in my head when i see a chase like that."
That part made me laugh a bit more than I probably should have. Bravo. - TravisG5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here is the video of that:
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/47096/bmw_m3_runs_from_police_lt1_camaro/
This one is very very fast... gets up to 150 MPH. - ZakColeman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2was it worth it, hells yes!
- DDRcasey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wasn't this a young kid driving? About 14 or 15, or maybe that was another video, I've seen so many
- wolfzero, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7You're an idiot. These chases are broadcast live. If they get away (which they sometimes do) then it's broadcast that way. In Los Angeles, some smart criminals went to a mall and ditched the cops by stealing another vehicle or simply walking away...I know because they broadcast it LIVE ON THE NEWS. Hell, they probably interrupted my regularly scheduled programming too.
- Depthfunction, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Mad props to the driver. ***** the police!
- kd1s, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The smart thing for the driver to do after the first bump attempt would be to drop back and do the very same thing to the police car. I wonder when someone will do that.
Of course the best way to ***** with cops is to carry a SAM and a radio jammer. No more helicopters and no more radio communications means no more cops. - AphyX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Agree with pests. No police agency wants to put on public TV chases where the suspect got away, it's just bad press...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that guy can be a driving trainer for police department specializes in car chasing
- Pests, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thats one way to let him get his fix:
"Okay, first one to catch me passes!" - buckeye45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice drivin, tex.
- supermanred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hes just an idiot whos lucky hes still alive.
- itseffinkasey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Man it sucks that he didn't get away... even with those driving skills.
- S1ngular1ty1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Was that Steve McQueen driving that car ??
- TheFunnyDigger, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Sweet!
But you have a better chance driving to an air port and switching cars under a bridge; but first you have to drive erratically so the cops stop chasing then switch cars under the bridge so the helis don't see you. You could drive the speed limit after that. This is the "Pursuit mod." I haven't seen it work, but it works every time in my head when i see a chase like that. - trev0006, on 04/15/2008, -0/+1Greta driver, I vote for him to be the Top Gear America Host. http://www.dpccars.com/ford/ford.htm http://www.dpccars.com/
- hobbers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, if you're going to do that, the time is when you're a minor right? Doesn't carry the same punishment as an adult, does it?
Also, regarding the ending being false. It makes sense, since they didn't show the cops pulling him out of the car. Don't they always show the bad guy getting a beat down in the end? That's half the fun. - supermanred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah too bad he didnt kill 10 or 12 innocent people before they got him. Hes lucky he didnt get shot before they bumped the car.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3so so very old. buried
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, had it been a North American, he would have PWNED their asses!
- theundone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good video but I could swear this is at least the 4th time I've seen it on digg.
- RandomEngy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"How to a police chase! Lol!"
I want to punch the person who came up with this title right in the nuts. - Fragalishus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah first time I ever saw this video it had no voice over but instead had the theme from Dukes of Hazzard playing. It was quite fitting.
"Beats all you ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they were born" - DerTeufel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cops- "Hey, great driving! Now, my friends and I are going to beat the ever loving snot out of you."
Don't run from the po-po maybe! - greenvortex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What model Mustang was the kid driving?
- bruenig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Helicopter and you are pretty much screwed. But I was watching an episode of masterminds just the other day and they were saying that the guy got away from the cop. He was in a bmw and just drove away from him.
- Sonic_Molson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I watched this video years ago, he was my inspiration. Last week when I was driving I took a corner too fast and hit ice with one of my tires, I ended up doing a 360 while avoid hitting the curb and other vehicles. Unfortunately unlike like this pro, I had to come to a complete stop before continuing.
Thank you oh-so-talented driver. - pyr0x, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Great video, my favorite police chase video actually. But it's been on Digg like 5 times already. Please search a bit more before submitting...
