- jwensley2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39I love that show, kinda interesting how some stuff is made.
- scottylist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38I've never wanted to eat paintballs so badly in my life.
- diggless, on 10/12/2007, -7/+23the show is a little dumbed down. i would like more details and less pandering to ignorance.
- bloqmon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Hey now, I'm sure writing the script for the narrator was a 'paint-staking' process.
- Jayeugene, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9At what stage do they add the pokemon inside?
- hometoast, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9And less puns!
- KriLL3.2™, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Discovery re-narrates nearly everything, mythbusters on discovery europe got a brittish guy, it's horrible, he misses on all the jokes and he sounds really forced. Not to mention they re-mix the tapes, so we get an alternate version... with alittle more details in some areas and some parts more or less removed completly.
That's why I torrent the american version. =P - mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5that strange channel is called ESPN...
- Araya213, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Real cool, I love that kind of stuff!
- cody50, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4this reminded me of Mr Rogers Neighborhood when he always went to some factory to check out what they were making. seems like it was alway crayons though.
- NoNom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Nothing like shooting management on the ass.
- IHaveIssues, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The show is called "How It's Made" and it's produced in Montreal. One of the narrators of the bits (not this one) is a native french speaker who had to learn to drop her french accent while speaking english - bilingual people can notice it. It's my 6 year old daughter's favorite show. Her 2nd is Mythbusters - meet the next Kari. :-)
- Zigerot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I could watch mass production all day long
- Brak710101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yea, it always seems to be on when I am watching, has some very interesting stuff on it.
It seems a bit old though, where the episodes on discovery channel from like 2000-2003, and the new ones are on the canadian owner channel? - VeryAngryJim, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Seen this elsewhere before, not on digg though.
if you find it interesting you may want to check this out:

I'm not trying to spam here since I know that won't reach the front page, just trying to let people know you CAN watch pro paintball live if you find that sort of thing interesting. - jayvan913, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I always found it odd that I liked the show so much. I really think that is interesting, but for some reason it seems like the show should be boring when you actually think about it.
- THEMACGOD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Actually... this show plays all the time on the Science Channel... They show a ton of stuff being made... great show... one of my favs.
- mrinternet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here in Australia the show directly followed by (or sometimes follows) Call for Help with Leo Laporte and grrrrrrrrr Amber more Canadian TV
Both good. - hafetysazard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3And, previously the narrator was the homosexual Canadian olympic swimming gold medalist: Mark Tewksbury.
- ceoandpresident, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I like how at the end they say its not just for kids but also for team building... haha Nothing like paintballing your annoying coworkers
- jcnewsome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Now, I know some religions don't eat jello cause the gelatin has bone from an animal that is sacrilegious to eat. Does this mean they shouldn't play paintball either.
Don't mean to insult anyone. Just thought it was humorous - kherrick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I noticed the word "PRO-cess" and wondered if it was Canadian. Not ripping on Canadians, it's just I noticed the word. ;-)
- pollardito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i love this show, but it has the worst background music imaginable
- hobophobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I remember he went to a bowling alley to show how the ball return and pinsetter work, but the crayon factory is definitely one of the most memorable. It seemed like a school fieldtrip when you didn't go anywhere at all.
- Andechs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Without paintball Id be sitting home getting fat all day."
Some of the best paintball players are fat. They have an advantage over muscular and scrawny guys, which is fat. Of course they are back players, but they just lay paint with their autocockers. The fat acts as padding so when the paintballs hits them they don't spatter. There is also a technique that most people can learn so when they hold there gun up in the shooting position that they do not flex any muscles in their arms. And its OLN and FOX sports world where they show tournament style paintball.
...
"the pro speedball sucks. try woodsball. its so much more fun."
Said like a true rec player. - To0n1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I always wondered how they were made - I had an idea of the general process, but no idea on the individual steps.
Dugg. - bightchee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2My apartment has only had cable television for a year and TiVo for about ten months. I've said to my girlfriend that if I knew a show like "How It's Made" was around I would have ordered cable years ago. By now, however, I know which episodes I've seen and they seem to repeat a lot.
- roastedbagel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@mecole21:
It was not on ESPN, it was on some channel called WGN or something. Trust me, I know ESPN from ***** local access stations. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They're .68 calibre... that is standard for most paintball guns. They can range, however, from .670 to .690. There's also a very small variation that is designed for airsoft guns, but they're no fun.
- CannibalTom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I watch that show almost everyday.
- hobophobe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2They should make paintballs with different color paintballs inside so that if only the outside one bursts it's a wound and you have to wait some agreed time before you can continue playing, if the inside one bursts too, you're dead. Also, I think they should make miniature flying alien jai alai creatures that will jump up and catch paintballs in the air and then throw them at the other team.
- idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Don't bother, a friend of mine got shot in the mouth once and he said it tasted like crap.
- Skullpop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks old, as Brak pointed out.
Not only do they package the balls in jars (wtf) of 200 (lol), but the commentator also says how it's 'not only for kids' and 'more and more companies are booking team bonding trips'.. Nowadays there's major professional tournies with cash prizes, sponsors and the lot.
Plus Diablo/Draxxus, the manufacturer (stickers can be seen on the machines), is now a huge international paint supplier. Boxes of 2000 are standard. - VeryAngryJim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1bagel,
Yes, it was ESPN. They taped an NPPL tournament in Miami and replayed it during the summer. Supposedly the ratings were so much higher than the show previously occupying the time slot that they are currently in talks for a full year deal. - HsoKinees, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1very interesting but they look so big! are they the standard size, or are they built for bigger weapons?
- Oxidizer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I watch How It's Made in the UK and we have a British narrator. I dint know that discovery channel re-narrated shows for different English speaking countries…
I like how our guy sounds but I would appreciate it if he would dial down the puns. - zakool21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Very very cool. Dugg to the max!
- mrmidgetman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i read about someone funding a huge free paintball event in one of them countries. thats definately a very interesting point.
- roastedbagel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Dude I love watching Pro Paintball on tv, they play it Saturday afternoons on some strange channel. Without paintball Id be sitting home getting fat all day.
- oliver3669, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Why the HELL would they put a sweetner in paintballs?
- TomP, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I think the british version of this is better
- mrmidgetman, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3the pro speedball sucks. try woodsball. its so much more fun.
- dustin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0very old also.
- charlietuna, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Paint balls "Exploding" ? Are they WMD? I think the writer should work for Karl Rove.
Fun video though. - madsmith, on 10/12/2007, -12/+6"this 'sheet' of gel, called a 'gel ribbon'..."
I'm glad they filled me in on that terminology, I'd never figure out that gel ribbon refers to a sheel of gel. - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -19/+2Yea.
