- VigilanteP, on 10/12/2007, -17/+50Can i hear a resounding "Who gives a *****"??
- RichPowers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27This is one of those movies that even if the story sucks (which I doubt), I'll still be happy because the visual style is so breathtaking.
- Bega, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24decapitations, impaling, hot chicks in transparent clothing, what's not to like?
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23You can't see the movie because you suck at the internet.
- orientis, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25I don't. You ***** myspace... haver.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Let that be a message to you MPAA!
Good movies = Less pirating! - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24If Lord of the Rings and Sin City mated...

- KevlarRelic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15You, sir, put it quite aptly in your title: every single frame of that trailer was worthy of, well, framing. Simply beautiful.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Dont forget kicking people in the chest!

Wasn't Thermopylae the story / example that Nathan Algren tells Katumoto about as they were preparing to face the Emporor's army in Last Samauri? - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Hey man, sorry you weren't elected president. Better luck next time.
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Some of us missed it the first time around.

- shitthisfook, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Haven't been this excited over a trailer since the first Matrix.
- EnderWalcott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8If you're interested in the battle of Thermopylae I recommend the novel "Gates of Fire" by Steven Pressfield. It's really good, but it can be rather gory at times. At one point the Spartans pile up the dead bodies to not only barricade the enemy, but to make them piss themselves in fear. Quality.

- b7j0c, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8let the sparta worship begin. actually it shouldn't. the spartans wouldn't send more men because it would detract from the public festivals they were having at the time, and of course, the fear that the helots would revolt. see, even for ancient times, the spartans were big into slavery. the actual "spartans" in sparta were a tiny minority who enslaved a much larger population of helots, who came from nearby lands they conquered. the helots took advantage of any opportunity to revolt, so the spartans were likewise enslaved by their need to always be watching for revolt in their own nation.
- SystmBetatester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8well i know what movie im gunna see next.... and pirating it wont do justice. guess this is the few occasions a good movie deserves to be seen in the movie theater....
- mirzmaster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8If you want to play 720p video and higher in Windows with perfect fluidity, I highly suggest you get the latest version of Quicktime Alternative (Media Player Classic), download the trailer to your hdd (using the rename to .hdmov option), and enjoy. Playing the file as .hdmov gets Windows to use the correct DirectShow filter. I was blown away when I first experienced it since prior to that, all 720p and higher trailers were dropping serious frames.
- wilk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Ooh, I wonder if NIN is doing the soundtrack for the whole movie, or if they are just using that track for the trailer.
- Snyder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Yeah I noticed that too... If anyone is wondering, the track is "Just Like You Imagined" from Nine Inch Nails' "The Fragile". If you look for it, disk one (which this song is on) is called "The Fragile (left)" and disk two is called "The Fragile (right)".
- orientis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6No, it's a movie of the Frank Miller comic 300, which tells the same story as the 1962 movie.
Yes, it's a ***** comic. Take your graphic novel ***** and shove it. - Carlos1978, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm sure that anyone that goes watch the movie will grow a third testicle.
Just by watching the trailer I grew hair on my back! - Daedalus17, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Are you implying he is not really sitting on a thrown? ;)
- mirzmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wow, the poster wasn't kidding. I thought it might be like so many other Digg post titles -- highly exaggerated -- but man, each frame really is picturesque. The stylized visuals in this film are truly amazing.
Looking forward to it... - sundancekid503, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm picking up some static on my end, check your antennae. *over*
- bigbadbyte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The Battle of Thermopylae was so interesting as it stands that I am saddened this movie has to resort to cheesy love stories to keep the audience interested. The movie does look gorgeous, but I think the story line will be a disaster al la Pearl Harbor.
- ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Some people call it cinematography...
- ricree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Depends what you mean by remake. It is based on the 300 graphic novel, which was somewhat inspired by 300 Spartans, which itself was based on an actual battle. So 300 Spartans does lie somewhere in this movie's roots, but it is neither the immediate inspiration nor the original.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5ahem...
*cough*
******* - mlkmnz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Here's hoping the story matches the visuals....
- xtr3m, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5...and who doesn't?
- deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I may actually see this in the theater.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4yeah, the spartans didn't send any troops to Marathon 10 years earlier because of festival commitments (though that didn't matter coz the athenians won). But you have to admit, when they actually went to war, they were pretty freakin' good at it. They might have lost Thermopylae, but we're talking about 300 vs. tens of thousands, so they did a pretty good job "holding down the fort". They also owned the Battle of Plataea, which pretty much drove the persians out of greece.
Sparta really is one of the most interesting ancient societies known - bobbourland, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5lol...they have a myspace http://www.myspace.com/300themovie
- Dalif, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Notice at one point the same move is used, that Achilles uses in Troy (the kansas city shuffle thingy with a spear/sword). Pretty cool. I liked Troy, and I'll probably like this as well. It does look stunning.
- ipooponu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4dugg for reference to Gates of Fire. Great book.
- AdamKoRn27, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4MmmGood.
- skankyBacon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Of course he isn't really. He's sitting on a throne.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3lets just close this argument by saying the old movie, new movie, and graphic novel/comic/whatever were based on the actual events. so yeah.
- cryonix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4i love how this one was Duped so bad the title is a comment from the previous article!
- dombi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It is probably just for the trailer... and yes, that was the first thing I noticed as well. It is a great song and NIN rocks! :-)
- glucoseboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Saw the trailer. Went and got the graphic novel. Awesome read!
Looking forward to the movie. - mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here comes another 50 minute movie that gets stretched out to 120 with all the slow motion.
