Before some dumb ass ruins his only keyboard!!- coheedcollapse, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2The outcome for both the reporter and the source was fairly positive. I think if I had a cheap keyboard covered in gunk and didn't want to get another one I'd try it out. The only people who really gave it a no-go were spokesmen from Logitech and Microsoft - but they wouldn't say "go ahead" even if it DID work. Think of how many idiots would do that and cite the article when they wanted a refund.
I think the most important part is to let it air dry for a very long time. If I were to do it, I'd probably set it in front of a fan running at full blast for a few days before plugging it in again.

- LegacyR, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1I wouldn't put most of my hats in the dishwasher. It would really depend on the material...synthetic shouldn't be an issue, but wool New Era MLB caps on the other hand...bad news.
- starsarebent, on 05/30/2008, -0/+0They are actually teaching this in IT colleges. I only know because when I went to college, they told us. Believe me, I was surprised as well. Never tried it, but we were also told to let the board air dry for an entire day so it doesn't fry it when you plug it in.

- GemStar38, on 05/29/2008, -0/+11I already wash the kids toys in the dishwasher. Sometimes they are so disgusting I don't want to wash them by hand.
- natdowner, on 05/30/2008, -0/+10apparently you really can wash your keyboard in the dishwasher.. I mean, I've spilt a whoel cup of coffee on mine and it never stopped working so I could believe it can be washed.
- str1fe, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2What if you're using a laptop?
- dettinger, on 05/30/2008, -0/+4good ideas, I'm sure there are many more uses for a dishwasher, even when the washing machine breaks I can still have clean clothes...
- justhoff, on 05/30/2008, -0/+8you can get electronics wet as long as they are dry before you plug them back in. as in, if there's no electricity, there's nothing to fry.
- Bukowsky, on 05/30/2008, -1/+4Without a doubt, the best way to clean your hat is definitely in the dishwasher... but a keyboard?
- follower64, on 05/30/2008, -0/+5Dugg for referencing the guy who had thousands of dollars of his wife's jewelry stolen by the nude maid he hired. Lulz.
Oh, and the best way to clean Crocs is to throw them into a furnace or other intense blaze... - NatashaCall, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2Don't forget chipmunks and rats:)
- CaptMonkey, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2Surprisingly, they can also be used to clean up and remove dents from an old rifle stock before refinishing.

- kateyall, on 05/30/2008, -0/+0Oh man. I am such a huge fan of the dishwasher. Every time I run it, I go around the house looking for things to fill it up. Todays load included a vase, 3 ashtrays, a bong, and fish net.
- Falldog, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1They forgot toothbrush, which is fairly important if you're cheap and have strep throat.
