The congress has stood up and opposed Bush many times on sending more troops to Iraq and offering war spending increases. It is just that the measures the Democrats opposed passed anyway. If you are going to ask the Speaker of the House a question then it has to be specific, not just a rant that gets a chuckle and a bunch of rhetoric.

  • badarabdad, on 08/26/2008, -2/+2i'm sure she'll say the republicans have prevented bills from going to vote. its the truth too. we actually need a large number of democrats, not just a majority, to push bills through.
  • inactive, on 08/26/2008, -1/+1It's called veto power, and I don't know why badarabdad is getting dugg down it's the truth. Partisanship gets in the way of real results. We either need a majority of Democrats, or do what I wish we would and get rid of political parties all together.
