- Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Great! Now I finally have a use for that helicopter I have sitting behined my house...
- Durrok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Peter: To the peter copter!
*Peter Copter crashes into joe's yard*
Peter: OH GOD! JOE GET BACK IN THE HOUSE! THE BLADES ARE STILL SPINNING!
*later*
Peter: To the hindin-peter!
*Hindin-peter floats off and then explodes*
Peter: Joe I am so sorry!
Joe: WHERE THE HELL DO YOU GET THE MONEY FOR THESE THINGS?
:p - gamche, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Does this mean tornado's are going to spawn on roof tops?
- bkmbr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hi, my name is George Jetson and this' my house.
- theevilshiftkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Great. A trailer park on every roof. I can't wait.
- TheRappingShoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Terrible website design too. What is going on with that stupid multicolour block menu thingamijig?
- kohno214, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I like the 70's porn music!
- jermz9195, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i think it's an interesting concept, but that thing better have good sound-proofing. wind noise, exhaust fans, air conditioners, and all kinds of other noise contraptions usually litter rooftops... not to mention loads of bird poop.
but imagine someone moving into a trailer park with one of these things? better yet, an entire trailer park? if it's really $60K, it could happen... - carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2where's the poop go when you flush?
- webby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can just imagine the pubes and dead skin that will get stuck between those white stones. LOL
- d1e1m, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Low quality materials, overpriced and catering to the people who don't really know what to spend their money on but it's theirs and not mine so I'll let them. On a side note, it is very interesting.
- toekneebullard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I'm not interested in purchasing one I just want to know if this is a viable option to a mobile home or an apartment or if this just a toy for the rich."
Rich people I'm sure. It's way to fancy and fairly "nice but not usefull" to be for people on a budget.
I think it's an interesting idea, but yeah, I mean, it's roof space for a reason. If you buy a loft cube, in theory, couldn't you then but a closet cube on top of that? and then what on top of that? - TacitusBen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you only have to have one bowel movement to cpmpletely stink up the place. Though, I bet you only have to remove two of the walls to air it out nicely.
- h0dg3s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Completely unfeasible and useless.
- Menoats, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yA the city should build these and just have people buy these like they were expensive trailer park homes. I mean thats what they're really.
- NewEvolution, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I look at that "bathroom" and only one thought comes to my mind.
Moldy. Rocks. - FishyJoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The are so beautiful to any skyline and I'm sure there are no logisitical problems for safety...
Seriously, there aren't many cities that would ever approve of these things. Firefighters, zoning comissions, city managers, building engineers, historical preservation, etc. All of them would have to approve for these things to be built. Roofs are designed to be roofs, not to support additional structures. - disdain_se7en, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I look at that "bathroom" and only one thought comes to my mind.
Moldy. Rocks."
But it says that they ease your soul! I wish I had rocks to ease my tortured soul.... - antigravit42, on 06/14/2009, -0/+160k plus rent for living on the roof.
becides i think this would be better like in a rainforest or a beach, but not on a rooftop - mocha24, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Old news. This has surfaced before.
The rocks seem hard to clean and would be uncomfortable to talk on or cause you to stumble or stub your toe.
No toilet though. They also didn't mention if the toilet could be moved between the bathroom or the living room depending on your desires. (Or are the rocks also the toilet?) - mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Most cities have zoning regulations that would prohibit this, but it would be great to put on some plot of beach somewhere for a vacation house. I wish there were more options for cool prefab, modular housing. Cheaper, easier to make more environmentally friendly, and anyway, houses in suburbia already all look the same.
Nonetheless, does not warrant nine exclamation marks, nor does any article on Digg. - DNABeast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Erm,.. But don't these things have roofs? And now the roof on top of this cube becomes "wasted space". We'll have to get one slightly smaller to stop that 'space' from being "wasted".
But then it's roof will become "wasted space", so we'll have to get a slightly smaller one to stop that 'space' from being "wasted".

Here's an idea. Live in the top floor of an apartment. Stay there. (Don't come out until you learn something about web site design and usability) - jer4202, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wtf, i posted this last month, see The house that "mac" Built
- billflu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This looks like something Kevin Rose would like to talk about on Diggnation. He liked the idea of the other Micro Dwellings. http://www.digg.com/design/Micro_Dwellings
These seem more practical though. - noseeme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This has been around for a while. Some can move themselves along flat surfaces.
They are called trailers. They look a little different than this.
I can imagine roofs collapsing already. - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0toekneebullard said:

Um...isn't that precisely how the Empire State Building got started? - dukeinlondon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The target customers already have a solution : hotels. There are some everywhere, at a wide range of prices and the cleaning (and the food if you want) is done for you. And you don't need to own a helicopter
- Eaglefire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Where does the poop go when you flush?
The same place it always does - Away. - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0allthewhile said:
"I'm sure you could easily hook the electricity, plumbing, and internet into that of the existing building. That would probably be pretty darn easy, actually..."
Uh...yeah---except for that pesky little problem, in most places: building codes, safety codes, zoning laws.
And what happens to these rooftop boxes in a major hurricane?
Maybe they can be fitted with giant helium balloons, and become sky shacks. lol - mastahack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0YEAH I SUMBITTED THIS!!!!! stop saying that this was your idea and crying that I got over 1600 diggs and you got 20 cuz i found this myself and brought it to the public!
- offroadpigeon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow, this thing is awesome, i could probably afford 50 grand too....
- Jetfire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Trailer Trash ar movin on up to the roof. LOL
- eternalplay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+01. flash site
2. music automatically starts playing
3. way too many exclamation points
4. 60K... no thanks
5. How many people have flat roofs? - shazeubaa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very poor website design.
- zloh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0illegal, and badly looped audio samples that auto-play? lame.
- AUGTRON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Did anyone happen to catch the pool and tanning deck on top of the roof? ( Go about 10 frames in under the Light Blue Box)
- lamprey187, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WOW they built a box and had a helicopter drop it on a roof. I am going to design a pyramid, wait that was done years ago.
- spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thats cool indeed. but why not just get an rv instead of getting an uberstrong roof and a chopper?
- h0dg3s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Where are you supposed to pee? In the shower, or on the plant? The shower is unfeasible, as there is nothing to contain the spray from going everywhere.
- Hale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great. Rooftop trailer parks.
- Spazkake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I want one
- TWiTarmy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0$60K isn't too bad
- jefu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Interesting idea, but way expensive and the web site uses flash and music where none is needed.
- sabster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i wonder if i can put it on the roof of my house.. that would be freaking awesome..
- stealurface, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey kids! We're having dinner tonight! Come on out Tiffany, Heather, Cody, Dylan, Dermott, Jordan, Taylor, Brittany, Wesley, Rumer, Scout, Cassidy, Zoe, Chloe, Max, Hunter, Kendall, Kaitlin, Noah, Sasha, Morgan, Kira, Ian, Lauren, Q-Bert, Phil
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow!! this is PERFECT.. for a homeless bum..
they should make a floatable version for those living in the southeast, hurricane problems would dissapear! ..wow this is lame. - kamizu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Old news. This has surfaced before."
I was pretty sure I read about this at least 2 years ago. - einsfahrt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ok from what I see it is 7.25m square. That's roughly 500sq/ft? For $60,000?
So once again, $60K for a 500sq/ft square trailer home without wheels that you have to put on a building rooftop by helicopter? I'm definitely missing something here, right? I mean all of you saying this is a good deal, did I do the math incorrectly? - Pyrolistical, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great, now I can move out of my mom's basement.
- fire7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow, now I only need to flatten my roof :|
