Cool business card designs
creativebits.org — I know there have been posts like this before, but I have yet to see any of these. Some are pretty clever. "Here is a collection of cool business cards to inspire you. Most of them are from the Business Cards flickr pool, some of them from Ads of the World..."

- dreight, on 10/12/2007, -2/+72Some of these are hot, but a lot of them seem very impractical.
- adsoftheworld, on 11/11/2007, -0/+33I agree, especially the hairy ones and the one which is made of a half inch thick yellow glass.
- adidos, on 10/12/2007, -12/+14Best one is the personal trainer business card that you have to stretch (pull apart) to read :)
- crawfishsoul, on 10/18/2007, -9/+23Site is slow, here some more business cards on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dailypoetics/sets/72057594104389710/
And I'm sorry, the TedEx one is just lame and flat out plagiarism. - quadvods, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17@ adidos:
And how are you supposed to dial them when you have to use both hands to be able to see the number? - cawpin, on 10/21/2007, -8/+5@quadvods - Short memory?
- flxfxp, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5http://www.duggback.com/design/Cool_business_card_designs/
- kaffein, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11The reason for the oddly shaped designs is so that you don't just put it in your rolodex and forget about...
It stays around lingering in your office, staring at you in the face. - championchap, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Lionel Hutz?
It turns into a sponge when you put it in water!
Classy! - vonskippy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7"The reason for the oddly shaped designs is so that you don't just put it in your rolodex and forget about...
It stays around lingering in your office, staring at you in the face."
That might be the "reason", but the reality is anything that's not standard (and today that means machine scan-able) doesn't linger around the office - it goes straight to the trash bin unless it's a product/service that is currently being shopped for (and even then you have to wonder if that company is sooooo special that they can afford to be creative, or are they just flakes that don't understand the simple purpose a business card serves - i.e. contact info). - vare2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The url for the cat box doesnt work
- Zuggy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have to admit the little map is pretty damn cool, that is if you can read a map.
- demea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45I'm curious how much some of those are to produce
- punch, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19What the heck is a Fiber Artist??
- honestlywhagwan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20a fiber artist is someone who weaves, crochets, knits, textile design, etc, for more than just craft. but for art/display.
- frantic24, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7basket weaving.
- mrjofo, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5@frantic24 (#6584485)
The truly great ones hone their skills underwater.
- bobbyzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4There's an artist near me who gives out wooden clothes pegs with his number on.
- stupidverizon, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5This is ironic, I'm watching American Psycho at this very moment.
- KSUdesigner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11When are people going to learn the definition of ironic? The word you are looking for is "coincidental."
- suprdiggr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Excellent cards! I love the one with teeth impression xD hilarious.
Dugg.- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -9/+29Was it really that funny?
- SLIPSTR3AM, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2If you mean ROFLMAO hilarious, then yes! /sarcasm
- orukabir, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0@dclowd9901: not really, nor is it very aesthetic
- Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was excellent..dentist, lets see....ah yes!
- themarq, on 11/12/2007, -4/+92No collection of business cards is complete without Woz's solid steel card: http://www.luckow.com/clients/woz/images/WOZMetalProofSM.jpg
- ExSlashdotter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6We had an apple software engineer here at our office for a week a few months back. That guy must have been a G, because his business card just had the apple logo and his first name: Reese.
- mrjofo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6@exslashdotter (#6584001)
Sounds like a name tag from an Apple Store. - psygnisfive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, that's a standard Apple Store name card for your badge. Every employee at Apple Stores get them. They also get business cards with your name and the store's contact information.
- nunchuks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4damn. the alpha geek. woz's like the donald trump of nerdom.
- robrandtoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Get your own at http://www.plasmadesign.co.uk/metalbusinesscards.htm
- HaxorTheWorld, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4Seems like the digg affect already had it's way with the site, anyone manage to duggmiror it?
- betterth, on 10/12/2007, -18/+11Lol Duggmirror isn't a verb. Your options are
"Did Duggmirror catch it?"
"Did a mirror catch it?"
or
"Did anyone manage to mirror it?"
- betterth, on 10/12/2007, -18/+11Lol Duggmirror isn't a verb. Your options are
- Pelapp, on 10/12/2007, -4/+29http://duggmirror.com/design/Cool_business_card_designs/
- Salgat, on 10/12/2007, -25/+7Thank you for not just putting "www.duggmirror.com", I hate that.
- gconeen, on 10/12/2007, -44/+13FOR THE LAST TIME. you just have to put http://duggmirror.com and it reads the referral and redirects you to the mirror of the downed site. thank you.
- Hashiro, on 10/12/2007, -8/+47@gconeen
FOR THE LAST TIME. Referrals don't always work. Thank you.
Shut up and go away. - NoodleGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15FOR THE LAST TIME, Not everyone allows the site to read the referrer. It's an option in many broswers.
- Character0, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31Unless its Scilian Rail on Bone with a subtle water mark then I don't want anything to do with it.
- shewasjustagrl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+48Crap, don't let Patrick Bateman see these!
- carleethian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Look at that subtle offwhite coloring, the tasteful thickness of it.
Oh my god, it even has a water mark.
- carleethian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Look at that subtle offwhite coloring, the tasteful thickness of it.
- velox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27While I admire the originality of these, I can only imagine myself throwing the majority of these cards in the trash immediately upon realizing it won't fit into my wallet. It's like the real-world equivalent of failing to consider the user's browser window size. If you want me to take your business card AND KEEP IT, please make sure it fits within my wallet, or at the very least, in my pocket. You don't see me creating 2560px width web pages. Likewise, please don't hand me a 2-inch thick business card.
- bonked, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's called knowing your market. You'll note most of these are niche marketers.
- DeathtoG4, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4love the finger one at the end
- Supernova36, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5These are some expensive business cards..
My personal favorite is the scratch off feather. - TheKingOfHell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I will make it my personal goal to have my presentation card in one of those galleries someday.
- Goldeyes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yes, these are pretty cool. However, one of the most functional ones I ever saw, was a business card that was also an ice scraper.
- hatenerds, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2yeah and try diong a run of any of those over 50 and see how much it will ***** cost you.
- KSUdesigner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Increasing the quantities would only make them cheaper per piece. Your biggest charges come from things like creating custom dies, setup fees and extensive hand work (though I'd suspect a lot of them did their own hand work, like the thread one). There's no sense in creating a card as unique as these and only ordering 50 of them, as they'll cost a few bucks per card. Order more and the cost per piece goes way down.
- seuaniu, on 11/12/2007, -1/+20Kevin Mitnick's cards double as a lock pick set
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ranh/106709219/- z00k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Ahh It was kevin mitnick's card! I remember finding the card a long time ago on the internet... but could only remember the lock pick factor, not who actually was giving them out... Thank you !
- DjOverEZ, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3That finger is just messed up!
- jmanlasman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Reminds me of American Psycho when all of them are at lunch comparing their expensive business cards.
- JMeezy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3These cards are definitely impractical. Great designs, but I would like to assume that these people are out of business due to their selection of business cards. If the people select these business cards, they must select the most "creative" usually most expensive items. Leather chairs, Glass desks, basically these are the same people that follow the "form over function" mantra. I was hoping the cool business card designs would be a regular card but the graphic designer just came up with a great idea. I like my card, no frills like gold hair, or rubberized corners, just a business card you can stick into your pocket with creative design.
- ElitistSnob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Where can one have such elaborate business cards printed? Online biz card sites like vistaprint offer no such custom design option. And my local print shop doesn't use specialized paper or materials like metal or 3D plastic... so where the bloody heck can I get cards like this?
- Ayavaron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you look around online, you'll find plenty of places that do this kind of work. A cursory look revealed to me that metal business cards are a bit over a dollar each, getting closer to a dollar each depending on how many you have made at once.
- byronfriday, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thanks for sharing that, I'm trying to decide on a new biz card design layout and this gave me some idea's.
- orukabir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is the second to last one meant to be edible? :o

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4DTe5MsJAo - HaltingPoint, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Lockpick business cards are pretty sweet.

Wish it was legal to own them in IL.
(Yes I wrote this article, shameless plug, but still incredibly relevant and cool, not like I make jack ***** off of adsense anyway) - AVguy2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Wheres the WOZ business card?
- c_2_g, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the site is a nice example of what Drupal can look like, too!
- iirsys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks for sharing. We are looking to some creative design for ours atm :)
- iirsys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If any of you can do some creative cards like that, do not hesitate to contact me ! :)
- hatenerds, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0portfolio please? i bet you suck at design
- ggko, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Not quite business card any more, but it originated as the artists' one:
http://www.mikroworld.com/ - mwerks, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1One of those cards belongs to one of my old clients. Small world.
- Scik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How bout some links on where to order these cards? There's millions of options with a Google search.. always nice to have some reviews.
- Radionesiac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Came for the story, stayed for the American Psycho references.
- ewarner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The "transparent thin" card is for the design firm I will be working at in a month.
- gregmo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I'm waiting for an OLED business card
- CurtisMcHale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool cards.

"Make an 3D plastic card." - DarkReign16, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I work at a printing shop, my friend runs the press and I can only imagine that he will go nuts seeing these tomorrow. But he has made a few special metal/wood laser engraved business cards.
- mkmega, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anybody know a good site for business cards that don't cost an arm and a leg?
- alan6688, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I think this one is cool and cheap for business cards: http://www.123print.com
- the311neo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I had no idea that business cards could be so cool...lol
- riskart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What a great collection! Thanks for posting it!!!!!!
- ninjaSteak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Interesting, inclusion of a price range for each card would have made this post complete.
- ren208, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the best business card ever was Newman's (from Seinfeld)
It had the USPS logo and only the name Newman in the middle
http://www.stanthecaddy.com/images/the-package1.jpg - elprincipe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0These cards are pretty cool, too. They come bound in a booklet and you can tear them out.
