- pyrofx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16200 pixels across a five meter wide screen IS NOT high resolution. It's just big! Now maybe if YOU were high?
Hmm (6144 x 3072 pixel resolution)
5 meters across = 196.8503937 inches
6144 / 196.8503937 = 31.21152000012484608000049938432 DPI
One third the resolution of what you are likely looking at now. - DarthDaddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Reference comments from story: http://digg.com/apple/Video_iPod_May_Find_New_Fans
Here's another weird thing I noticed. I posted this exact story yesterday morning (before pacino), now all of a sudden it is GONE from my submitted stories under my profile, and albertpacinos is sitting on the home page. WTF??? - SVPirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"What’s a gamer to do with an 18 megapixel display?"
Buy a new PC with 8 PCI-e x16 slots and hope NVIDIA release an SLI update that supports multiple cards... ? Now that WOULD be a gamer geeks wet dream! - über, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dear God!
It's Ginormous! - ajh1138, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow...is it just me or does the Ultima 7 map of Brittania look a lot like the one in Ultima Online? I had no idea they were that similar. Could be corrupt memory on my part...I haven't played UO in a looooong time.

- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hm, well the gamer could put a C64 emulator (160x200 IIRC) at native resolution in a corner and have a really nice background image around.
- kday, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Guys, you can do this yourself with a fat wallet, and a Windows XP box.
Windows XP has very good (probably the best) multiple monitor support (up to 10). If you use the program UltraMon, you can even use more than 10 monitors.
Ok, let's say you are going to use 9 projectors (3x3) to display your desktop. Lets say these are very good projectors that support 1600x1200 resolution. 1600 times 3 is 4800, and 1200 times 3 is 3600. That is a 4800x3600 resolution.
Lets say you install UltraMon and increase the number to 16 projectors (4x4). That is a total of 6400x4800!
So invest roughly $32,000 in projectors, $240 in video cards (you can obtain a $30 a video card, each card supporting 2 monitors) and you can receive a 6400x4800 resolution. That would be a geeks dream.... - turgiddahlia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Man, I wish I could find Ultima 7 again to play. I bought it years ago to play on my Pentium 120, and it was TOO FAST. The characters were just screaming across the screen and the speech bubbles flashed by in an instant. It made me sad and I didn't have the wherewithal to get a speed limiter and anyway didn't know what a speed limiter was and furthermore didn't have internet access to enable me to get one. ***** ***** *****.
- hanshasuro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Do Metroid next!
- ChrisW75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually, I liked this link more for the Doom maps than for the pictures of the huge screen. Brought back many happy memories. I even downloaded Map 2 to see if the Chain Gun was where I remembered it (it was!)
