World's smallest revolver and ammunition
swissminigun.com — It's total length does not exceed 5.5 cm. It shoots 2.34 m/m rim-fire ammunition.
- 1759 diggs
- digg it
- CurtHowland, on 10/12/2007, -3/+69Careful with that, you might poke someone's eye out.
- CurtHowland, on 10/12/2007, -6/+47Wait, better yet:
"That's not a gun. ....THIS is a gun!" - fauxXenophanes, on 10/12/2007, -24/+16"You'll put yer eye out kid! "
- mrmidgetman, on 10/12/2007, -23/+10http://www.duggmirror.com/design/World_s_smallest_revolver_and_ammunition/
- samgab, on 10/12/2007, -14/+9Aaah. Australian humour. Does it get any better?
- bennypowers, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3hahha beat me to it.
I'll add this: "What the hell were they thinking?" - samgab, on 10/12/2007, -2/+40Apparently the risk of injury with this "gun" is so low they allow it on flights to USA or UK... Just passports, wallet, and this gun, all in a clear plastic bag.
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -9/+50- "You call that a knife? THIS is a knife."
- "That's not a knife, that's a spoon"
- "ah. I see you've played knife-y-spoon-y before" - lazydrumhead, on 10/12/2007, -6/+39http://www.toothpastefordinner.com/070505/movie-quote.gif
- myheaditches, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2nreynolds, what is that quote from?
- turbodigg, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3It must feel like a bee sting or something small when you get hit by it.
- rolfeman02, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8the simpsons...bart vs. australia
- CJz44, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7@myheaditches:
It's off The Simpsons.
Edit: rolfeman02 beat me to it. - zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Aww crap... Another thing we can't take on a plane.
Better not tell anyone about my atomic rubberband gun. uh..damnit!! - TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You could do more damage with a super-soaker.
- DiamondIce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Reminds me of another Simpsons ep, where a derringer fight breaks out on a steam boat and the bullets don't even break the glass containers. Don't remember the title of the ep, but I know Bart and Nelson were supposed to be Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.
- MasterGrief, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The episode was called "Simpsons Tall Tales".
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ diamondice
- "And now for the tradiotional 'lowering of the bodies into the casket'"
Probably one of the best parts of any simpsons episode.
- CurtHowland, on 10/12/2007, -6/+47Wait, better yet:
- linkinpark342, on 10/12/2007, -8/+44rofl, noisy cricket anyone?
- intent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"Say 'Hello' to my little friend..."
- ws6fire, on 10/12/2007, -34/+13Umm... that looks like it's computer generated. Can anyone verify it's real?
- blapierre, on 10/12/2007, -6/+24Yep. Verified.
- jgrundy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4It's real, but the gallery consists of 3D renderings, not photos.
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Thanks for the update, crack team of Digg investiagators. As the parent stated, this thing looked quite fake from the photos. So can you actually purchase this thing?
- korteenea, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14"Yep. Verified."
Does anyone actually have proof of this thing's existence? "There's pics so it must be real!" I mean come on... it's CG, quite obviously... albeit very good CG in some of the pics (others not so much.) Digg me down too if you like, but show some proof first why don't you? - ws6fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Still have never seen any REAL photos of it. :) Anyone who has bought one please post up pics! :D -digg me if your a jerk ;)
- kaiyraa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13http://www.swissminigun.com/img/rev_jeans.jpg
This reminds me of when Steve Jobs introduced the iPod nano. No?- dhughes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28 Rob someone of their Nano at gunpoint with this gun.
- UncommonSense, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17iPod nano= Too big. With this gun, you have smaller fish to fry...
http://gprime.net/video.php/ipodflea
- flash200, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22I bet you could scare the crap out of a Lilliputian if you pulled that gun on them.
- plugues, on 10/12/2007, -23/+10smaller is easier to go up charlton heston's ass
- flash200, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16it's also tougher to pry from his cold, dead hands. You have to get a pair of tweezers.
- jarcoal, on 10/12/2007, -38/+16guns suck
- lazydrumhead, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14happiness is a warm gun.
bang bang, shoot shoot. - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You'd have a hard time sucking on that thing. You'd probably accidentally swallowing it. Just don't choke!
- lazydrumhead, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14happiness is a warm gun.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16This thing develops 1.1J of energy. I SERIOUSLY doubt that it will penentrate skin. A .22 Short, by far the wimpiest mainstream round develops 95J of energy.
- cawpin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Actually, the least powerful commonly available round is the .22 BB cap, primer only.
- xptical, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Depends on the impact area of the round. If the front cross-section is small enough, it might be able to penetrate.
A standard paintball round delivers about 10 joules. However, a lot of that is dissapated when the round splatters.
Airsoft, by comparison, delivers right around 1 joule. I've been hit by airsoft rounds at close range all over my upper body. I've even had a few break skin on my arms and neck. Nothing to see a doctor about, but it still hurt. - pwallroth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Why the hell have you been shot that many times?
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21He forgot to duck.
- FreeiPodGuy.com, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It might not break skin, but it might break eye.
- codyman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+39Wow I bet a nerf gun packs more heat
- arnaudh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Cool. That will go well with my Indiana Jones figurine.
- Meka181, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26How would people with thick fingers go about pulling the trigger ?
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+59You need to buy the World's Smallest Thug to go with it.
- aramova, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3Someone modded the parent question down? Good grief....
- ccanni1028, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7http://www.swissminigun.com/img/gal_1.jpg
Look closely, the "trigger" and trigger frame are both the real trigger. You can see the real trigger easily, and you can also see the lines where the trigger hinges.
- reichec, on 10/12/2007, -4/+35"Hey mom! Look at the cool prize I got out of the gumball machine!"
- geminem, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5i do have photos of a tiny but really detailed toy gun (doesn't shoot bullets) from a toy vending machine (drop coins, get toy encased in plastic egg).
http://web.tnnua.edu.tw/~g920713/2005/01/tiny-tiny-toy-gun-from-egg-capsule.html (photos are on my page. not spamming. :) ) - woxidu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7"Hey mom! Look at the cool prize I got out of the gunball machine!"

- thydzik, on 10/12/2007, -15/+7so is this thing deadly?
- flash200, on 10/12/2007, -2/+41maybe if they die laughing
- geekguy, on 10/12/2007, -14/+7Are you retarded?
- rabidwalrus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Proof that "It's not the size, it's how you use it"
- woxidu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Use it? I guess you could put this thing in their cereal and they might choke on it...
- jmc730, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7Looks like something for the Inch High Private Eye.
- flash200, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9Not sure the marketing slogan would go over very well: "The perfect complement for a 1-inch dick" ;)
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15No, you're missing the point. This tiny gun says, "My dick is so big, I don't need to compensate."
- megaloid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Interesting. I read that during World War II, the higher-ranking German officers considered it a mark of prestige to carry the smallest possible sidearm, even useless .25 automatics.
- dignation, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1You've gotta be kidding me.
- NJShadow, on 10/12/2007, -34/+4Sorry, beat ya by about a week. http://digg.com/offbeat_news/The_smallest_fully_functional_revolver_in_the_world_The_Size_of_a_Key
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18The only thing you can do is Digg it or Bury it. Just don't complain about it. Digg has something like 4,000,000 users and an extraordinarily ***** dupe filter. Dupes WILL happen, and on the especially good stuff like this, they will happen often. Deal with it.
- dignation, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2I remember seeing this on BoingBoing a while ago. But digging a story that old wont do it much good.
- suprchunk, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8If you would have titled it better maybe you would have got more than 29 diggs and the story would have floated around longer. Don't cry because you don't know how to write a good title. Move along.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15"'Scuse Me While I Whip This Out!"
- EasY_TargeT, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Owner of smallest gun: "Now where did i put that, Im not used to such a small gun. Dammit not in this pocket, nope not in that one either, just wait one sec, ill find it then ill pop your ass."
*Looks into pockets*
*Looks back up*
Guy he was trying to shoot: "Now you get down mother *****" *Ch-Ch*
Guy with worlds smallest gun: ****** himself*
- EasY_TargeT, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Owner of smallest gun: "Now where did i put that, Im not used to such a small gun. Dammit not in this pocket, nope not in that one either, just wait one sec, ill find it then ill pop your ass."

- Sjfireworks, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2that your sisters gun?
- anareric, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Monkey fights will never be the same. Woo ha ha ha.
- koonkii, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6lol digg++ !
for those who dont get what he meant
http://lefthandedsmokeshifter.blogspot.com/monkey%20fight.jpg
- koonkii, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6lol digg++ !
- Mofo, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5My uncle has a .22 that hides in the palm of your hand, two barrells that crack open like an over under shotgun. I keep a 38 special snubnosed in my car (yes I have a permit for it) though I'd like to replace it with a glock 23 someday.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Get a 1911 before the Glock. You WON'T be sorry. Yeah they cost more, but you get what you pay for. I now have 2 1911's, a new Springfield and an EXTREMEMLY old Springfield (mfg 1917!) and both shoot better than any other pistol I have ever owned, including the Glock 19.
- gn0stik, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2It's called a derringer. They are nice little belt buckle conceal and carry pistols. But only for extreme cqb, you only have 1 or 2 shots, and you'd better stick it right in his eye.
- justinbaker, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2check out the springfield XD's before you do glocks. They are great guns!!
- pyrotherm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1i want a glock 33, the reliability, and the fact that it fires .357 sig ammo are just insane
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Get a katana and fight like a man. :P
- NJShadow, on 10/12/2007, -41/+2Sorry, dupe. This is 7 days old. http://digg.com/offbeat_news/The_smallest_fully_functional_revolver_in_the_world
- Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19You already said that...
- suprchunk, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Sorry, have to say it again since you feel the need to do so also. If you would have titled it better maybe you would have got more than 29 diggs and the story would have floated around longer. Don't cry because you don't know how to write a good title. Move along.
- Tyrel, on 10/12/2007, -12/+10Anyone else remember the little tiny gun that Will Smith had in "Men in Black"?
- Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Yes, it was the Noisy Cricket, and its already been brought up in this thread, as well.
- MuZiKMafia, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2...The Noisy Cricket...
someone mentioned it above ^^^
**Damn phyltre, you beat me to it** - lazydrumhead, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12dupe comment! dupe comment on the comment that was a dupe!
just a dupey ol day. - spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3^^... on a duped story...
- ziki, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1wasn't it in wild wild west?
- elliotm01, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2For cockroaches. Big cockroaches.
- superkendall, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14As someone who has been to the Spy Museum in Washington DC, I can tell you this is not the worlds smallest revolver.
- Biznack, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2But can you prove it?
- superkendall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Proof by example:
1) Go to spy museum
2) Observe window filled with small revolvers (like lipstick revolver).
Not my problem it will cost you $20 plus travel expenses to verify. - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2OK, now I am calling *****! You have obviously NEVER been to the Smithsonian. There are NO ADMISSION FEES to visit ANY of the Smithsonian's 14 museums! (unless you consider your Federal Income Tax the fees!)
- willwgm3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Maybe you should do a little research before you call *****. The International Spy Museum in DC is not a Smithsonian museum. Admission is $15:
http://www.spymuseum.org/plan/plan_admission.asp
- DannySpace, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Is that a swiss mini gun in your pocket or are you just...
- Biznack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Very modest
- Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I want to see somebody try to rob a bank with this :-)
- scottylist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5"*****, I just swallowed my gun!"
- s7r1k3r, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Where can you buy this?? I want one to shoot around at work or would be great in the office.
- Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3switzerland
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2is it just me or do those pictures look CG?
- NsXLA, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Be care full, pointing that towards a midget, he/she will p*ss in their pants!!!!!
Neat stuff. - patonw, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Would be perfect for a gnome rogue.
- aleatorystories, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Someone plays World of Warcraft a little too much.... :D
- YmerejO42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Warcraft has gnomes? My first thought was "Someone plays D&D too much"
- megaloid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The effects are similar: fatigue from lack of sleep, inability to distinguish fantasy from real life, lack of girlfriend, etc.
- BobMighty, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0I actually saw a gun like this at a flea market near my town. i didnt' think it was real, but now this? who knows.
- magixx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I think I can take one for the team.
I think a Airsoft 6mm BB gun can do more damage than this. - Willmonwah, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Yeah, this can't be real... the recoil would totally knock it out of your... fingers..
- Ryzo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Can this gun even break a glass window?
- haystacker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2From the graphs, I would say definately. A 400fps small lead projectile could definately break glass. Looks about as powerful as a BB gun.
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1400 fps? my 9800 pro is faster than that! (joke!)
- anteyekon4myst, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Ahhh but can it play MP3's?
- Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13The iGun, bullets sold separately though the iAmmo store.
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1NOTE: iBullets contain DaRM
- KORGOTH, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2cost?
- diktator279, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The gun itself is cheap- its the ammo that gets you.
- TomS64, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Is this a prop from MIB?
- Broccoli, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5ok this is cool and all, but i cant wait till a squirrel gets a hold of one of thses things and figures out how to use it.
- megaloid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What, and mug somebody for a Snickers bar?
- ziki, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3i would not want to be held up by someone with one of these.
*sarcasm* ^^ - haystacker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Too bad the bullet trajectory is trash. Looks like you couldn't hit a watermelon from 50 feet away from the graphs. There's a reason why .22 caliber is the lowest you see in the states. Looks pretty neat, but I still cant think of a reason I would want it.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2The smallest is actually the .17 HMR.
- Buelldozer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3.22 is not the lowest caliber you see in the states! There are a lot of peope shooting .17 for varmint hunting.
- haystacker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I meant the smallest mass produced rimfire.
- superkendall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2AM I mistaken, or is the .17 not mass produced as well:
http://www.chuckhawks.com/ammo_roundup_17HMR.htm
Not many people would be shooting it if you had to hand-cast the casings and load it too! - charlietuna, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A lot of serious target shooters like the (ahem, mass produced) 17 HMR. Inexpensive, and very flat trajectory (in still air). Reaches 2100 fps
http://www.chuckhawks.com/compared_17HMR_22WMR.htm
http://hornady.primediaoutdoors.com/HDstory5.html - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And the R in .17 HMR stands for Rimfire. Hornady Magnum Rimfire, to be exact. It is mass produced, and you really can't handload rimfire ammuniton anyway.
- gn0stik, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I just requested a catalog or price list, I'm getting one for shooting my cats with when they scratch the furniture. It'll be sweet.
Now I can get trashed and shoot the house up with no worries.- mattlong, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I'll be waiting for the story to hit the news when are wasted and shoot yourself in the eye with it or something ;-)
- NitrousFlare, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Incase you have hooks...
- Spikito, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0wtf guys, this is a reply to comment way up top, from nreynolds, the you call that knife thing was on the crocodile dundee movie where he went to NY, i think its the second one, come on guys, how did on one pick up on that
- haystacker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1its in the first movie, and he goes to NY in both movies.
- Caulfield, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1the fact that you remember plot lines for those movies either says you have a great memory, or perhaps the worst taste in movies. which is it?
- rolfeman02, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually, the quote from nreynolds was from the Simpsons, episode: Bart V s. Australia. They were doing a satire on Crocodile Dundee(FIRST MOVIE). Know your stuff before you try to correct someone.
- OrangeTide, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2How many iPod Nanos is this gun capable of shooting through?
- JoeyDeacon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I doubt it could even scratch a nano..............which is saying something
- mechanisma22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This gun probably could do more damage than you think. I bet it could penetrate skin and break glass. I just want one because its cute and I can show it off. I wonder if its available for sale yet and I wonder how much it costs.
- gurky, on 10/12/2007, -12/+0http://www.digg.com/apple/A_Monkey_asks_for_money_for_a_Mac/who
