- arof, on 10/12/2007, -0/+60An explanation for the front paging (if anybody has this on their profile and is curious):
http://www.wired.com/news/technology/internet/0,72832-0.html?tw=rss.index
The first few were bought. Digg got gamed (for journalism). - cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -1/+37More like lock up your Wii's and Mac's :-)
- Miraa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37I can't believe how many Diggs this is getting. This must be a sign of the end of days.
- pawperso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35How the hell, did this get to the front page.
- goodbeershow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+38Where's Waldo?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27we all know now.... $1 a digg is why!
- saikhan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24Lock up your wives and daughters.
- an7agonist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21So, some of the diggs of this story were bought.... Interesting ;-)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Seriously? I kept expecting something intelligent or original. But that's not what the blog is at all. It's just pictures of people and the writer saying "There's a lot of people in this picture. I like it because they all have similar clothes." Where's the analysis?! Where's the description of the psychological and emotional effect the pictures have on us? Bah! Crappy blog. After getting to the bottom of the splash page of that blog, I really wonder who in the world dugg it.
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -7/+24This blog was very insightful. I learned what a crowd was...
- rm999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I guess everyone has a fetish, but this has to be the oddest one I have ever seen. I seriously can't tell if this is a joke or not...
- quomen, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21None of those photographs really appeal to me..
am i defective?
or just a loner..
k i'll go work on my playing card-city now. - Frozo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Yeah, who says people are fascinated by photos of crowds?? This is so lame. lol
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11haha i totally dugg this.
too bad i didn't get paid. - tektalk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10How would people react to a crowd of diggers?
- glinsvad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Why are people fascinated by people that are fascinated by photographs of crowds?
- Vision2098, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Nope.
- finista, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Hey, where is my buck!?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Are they?
- lostcook, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Good for Annalee Newitz who wrote the article. I think it was a brilliant idea to show how easily things can be brought to a tipping point on Digg. Hopefully this will lead to quality diggs and the rest of us won't be fooled so easily.
- laplacian, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10@quomen
I agree. Not only am I not fascinated by pictures of crowds, but I disliked the photos. What does that mean about us?? - hleapha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Dude, its funny. It shows how lots of stupid people on here only digg stuff that already has diggs. The people that should be banned are those who do not form individual opinions. Everybody bashing the real experiment is missing the obvious.
- AlfaWolph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I didn't realize that they were.
- morpo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Woah - there's pictures of people I know on there. The college game is a Cornell hockey game.
Small world. - gummih, on 10/12/2007, -14/+17For all those wondering how this crap got to the front page:
http://digg.com/tech_news/I_Bought_Votes_on_Digg - paulface12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3After knowing that this is fake, I think this blog is the funniest thing I've ever read
- sfatoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5http:://www.duggmirror.com missed it, but coral cache got it: http://www.crowdhacking.com.nyud.net:8080/blog/
- SigmundFreud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3As everyone knows, crowds are an organic lifeform. They're dangerous too, many a crowd has been found in the near vicinity of a fatal accident. All this is covered in Robert Rankin's novel _The Book of Ultimate Truths_ (which I heartily recommend).
- zymosis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Only on digg will a comment about beautiful women get dugg down.
- PetLvr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It was a good article in Wired News :D
- Flamekebab, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Whilst crowds may be fascinating, since when are people in general fascinated by them?
- esengulov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1maaaan, how stupid you gotta be to digg this *****
- merdiesel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sheep.
- Tiemersma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice Experiment
- webmasterjoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And now this story is getting more digs. It's like part two of the study of the Digger's mentality.
- XPooP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1One digg for experiment and nice pictures :D
- ukdave, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0This blog sucks big time LOL, Ha Ha to all of you who Dugg it and never got paid.

- redtangential, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"nothing attracts a crown like a crowd"
looks like you can't spell either - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+8This article is hilarious.
"After four and a half hours, I had 19 diggs." Bwahaha.
Why pay for diggs, be part of community and they will reward you. - Render, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Very interesting.
- robogobo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1nothing attracts a crown like a crowd. digg is sooooooo stupid. it merely gives stupid people a feeling of power for branding other people's stuff bad (over their head) or stupid (like them).
it's really nice to see how many people can't spell or punctuate. - Seraphya, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I wonder how many more digs once this story
http://www.wired.com/news/technology/internet/0,72832-0.html
